The article offers a synthetic presentation of the results of analyses of diverse data resources and other scientific information concerning the healthcare in Poland. These studies were conducted in order to put forward positive changes that are not only to prevent the fall of the system, which is highly probable, but also to improve the availability of medical services and increase their quality. These studies are of major importance because the availability of medical (healthcare) services is largely determined by whether it is possible to implement the idea of sustainable development among employees, which indirectly determines the possibility of implementing sustainable development principles incorporated into legal circulation under one of the first articles of the Constitution of the Republic of Poland. The concept of sustainable development is not only one of the important reasons which call for modernisation of the functioning of the healthcare system, but also an idea which, once applied, may be helpful in solving healthcare problems. Considering the fact that the largest problem of this system in Poland lies in the shortage of employees, it becomes clear that by trying to ensure sustainable development of employees working in other industries, first, it is necessary to take care of their health, which must lead through sustainable development of healthcare workers. The aim of the article is to present the comprehensive nature of the idea of sustainable development of employees, the role of health protection in achieving a balance by employees, and to show the way to build integrated programmes to maintain the health of employees and their families against the background of the limitations of the Polish healthcare system.

The article discusses the potential impact of sustainable finance initiatives on financial stability. A careful literature review on the subject of sustainable development and stability of the financial sector is performed in order to identify potential gaps in policies and regulations. Existing considerations around the impact of sustainable development efforts focus exclusively on the consequences of climate change for the portfolio of assets held by the financial sector, whereas the author examines the growing market for sustainable financial instruments as a potential threat. The results indicate that sustainability features of new financial instruments are not methodically evaluated in the context of their credibility and may therefore suffer from sudden loss of value that is not accounted for under the existing supervisory mechanisms. Inconsistent definitions and no single perception of sustainability further enhance the risk for investors and issuers and that risk needs to be accounted for under the mechanisms safeguarding financial stability.

Living on Earth in the 21st century requires determination due to its diversity and a multitude of propositions and values. So far, a large group of people has followed a consumer lifestyle, which often contributed to environmental degradation. The power of anthropopression (i.e. man's negative impact on nature) has caused many problems related to climate change, anomalies in the world of animals and plants, but also in the organization of urban and rural life. Every person living in a certain space should strive to follow the rules that will allow him to meet his developmental needs in the following dimensions: educational, professional, social, and, above all, existential. Living in a polluted environment makes it impossible to breathe deeply, while the poor quality of water and soil also prevents us from satisfying our thirst and hunger. The aim of the article is to present the concept of a smart and sustainable city, as life in cities should be reorganized to the level consistent with the Strategy developed by the United Nations. This publication has been divided into several parts. First, basic information on sustainable development is presented due to the necessity of saving a living society in the 21st century before the planet's destruction. The next part of the article introduces the concept of environmental education and its effectiveness in pedagogical terms to indicate that this area of knowledge requires constant improvement and deepening. Then, forms of social participation are introduced as a manifestation of social capital building. After presenting the effects of cooperation, as part of research findings (qualitative research), at the end of the article, the reader has a chance to reflect on the effectiveness of his current activities for maintaining the possibility of living in a repaired natural environment. The article covers issues related to sociology and pedagogy to demonstrate the interdisciplinary nature of the above sciences combined with the field of environmental protection.

The article presents some problems of sustainable economy in the context of knowledge development. On the base of statistic data the value of social capital was estimated with regard to education and skill. Moreover domestic frame of skill in higher education were characterized. The frame creates the basic for new image of our higher education. Last part of article is connected with sustainable model of business in which the intellectual capital is the key element.

According to different types of studies conducted in recent years, not natural but social factors will constitute a major barrier in the process of achieving sustainable development. The barrier will be quickly noticed in the countries and regions of low social capital. The purpose of this article is to present responsibilities for state authorities and enterprises in the creation of social capital. This conducted study of literature has enabled the creation of a set of methods that impact these entities as to the nature of the relationship and level of trust within certain social structures. This presented work may serve as reference points for entities implementing similar solutions in their environment. The author cites numerous examples which oppose the opinion that the level of social capital is only a result of inheritance. The current generation can take the initiative in this regard, although it is a long-term process. The author also points out the dependence of the effectiveness of measures taken to adapting them to the specific context in which the group operates. He also draws attention to the role of society, which, like the state and commercial entities is responsible for raising the level of social capital.
Według różnego rodzaju badań przeprowadzonych w ostatnich latach, to nie czynniki przyrodnicze, a społeczne będą stanowić główną barierę w osiągnięciu zrównoważonego rozwoju. Jako pierwsze, będą musiały zmierzyć się z nią państwa i regiony niskiego kapitału społecznego. Celem niniejszego artykułu jest ukazanie zadań organów państwowych oraz przedsiębiorstw w zakresie tworzenia kapitału społecznego. Przeprowadzone studium literatury, umożliwiło stworzenie zestawu metod oddziaływania wspomnianych podmiotów na charakter relacji oraz poziom zaufania wewnątrz określonych struktur społecznych. Zaprezentowane działania mogą stanowić punkt odniesienia, dla podmiotów wdrażających podobne rozwiązania w swoim otoczeniu. Autor przytacza liczne przykłady zaprzeczające twierdzeniu, iż poziom kapitału społecznego jest wyłącznie wynikiem dziedziczenia. Obecne pokolenie może podejmować inicjatywę również w tym zakresie, choć jest to proces długotrwały. Autor wskazuje przy tym na uzależnienie efektywności podejmowanych działań od dostosowania ich do specyfiki kontekstu w jakim funkcjonuje dana grupa. Oprócz tego zwraca uwagę także na rolę społeczeństwa, które podobnie jak państwo i podmioty komercyjne ponosi odpowiedzialność za podnoszenie poziomu kapitału społecznego.

Most of humankind live in cities. They therefore play a central role in development processes. Local authorities, through their efforts to attract external investors, try to actively strengthen these processes. Nowadays, it is important for development to be sustainable, both in terms of the environment and citizenship. This article presents the delocalisation processes from three perspectives: the company, the place where the processes are located (i.e. country, region or municipality) and the inhabitant (social capital). The processes are subject to investor acceptance. This win-win strategy, which benefits all three parties, will become the common feature of all delocalisation investment projects which involve the use of available human resources at the place of investment. At present, more invaluable than the low labour cost is the quality of human/social capital, both in context of adaptation to the needs of a specific entrepreneur and one expressed by social and civic awareness. The author defines the theory of stakeholders as the key determinant that should guide municipalities in attracting investors and implementing a sustainable development strategy. Additionally, the paper uses the method of analysis of the literature on the subject, legal documents and available reports.

The first at all, the paper explains the meaning of the term sustainability as a basic condition for keeping of natural capital assets for next generations and its impact on the sustainable development character. The second, it has been showed how sustainability and sustainable development are understood in the mainstream and heterodox economics. And, the third, the work shows the contemporary problems for implementation of sustainable development based on climate sustainability according to strategy Europe 2020 and the latest package 2.0.

Using semi-structured interviews and focus group discussions (FGDs), this study examined critical stakeholder's perceptions, experiences and competence in assuring the sustainable management of Ghana's major gold mines. The investigation was inspired by a synthesis of the United Nation's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) adopted by the global community in September 2015; it places human resource capacity at the center of a sustainability struggle between local and international businesses. The findings of this study encompass two opposing but interesting perspectives. On the one hand, the study showed that sustainable development is understood differently by stakeholders within the gold mining sector in Ghana, which is why gold mining companies employ different approaches in their pursuit of sustainability objectives. On the other hand, the study revealed that, as mining activities are similar across different mining companies, common understanding and operation of sustainable development in the country's gold mines is a more practical approach to sustaining mining operations. This study further revealed that to facilitate the effective implementation of sustainable development within Ghana's gold mines and to ensure its alignment with SDGs, a regulatory framework is required and this should be developed based on the input of stakeholders.

The author of the article discusses the need to search for effective mechanisms, institutions, tools and management procedures for a harmonised increase of the quality of valuable life across all spheres of human existence and activity. To that end, he proposes abandoning the orientation of economics, economic policy and economic systems towards GDP growth and departing from the bureaucratic model of economically, ecologically and socially sustainable development promoted in the EU in favour of reflection regarding the consequences of the feedbacks arising from alternative resource allocations to various spheres of human existence. This reflection is to rely on the eightsphere integrated development matrix presented by the author. In order to maximise the synergy effects of the inter-spherical feedbacks and minimise the negative external effects, he postulates: popularisation of integrated thinking about development in respect of the whole development area, entrepreneurial activities of the state oriented towards holistic reflective modernisation of human capital, especially modernisation of human capital quality and structure, reduction of frustrating inequalities, which bring about passive adaptation, and elimination of systemic institutional inconsistencies that prevent inclusive development.
Autor artykułu wskazuje na potrzebę poszukiwania skutecznych mechanizmów, instytucji, narzędzi i procedur zarządczych umożliwiających zharmonizowane podnoszenie jakości wartościowego życia we wszystkich sferach bytu i działania człowieka. W tym celu proponuje odejście od orientacji ekonomii, polityki ekonomicznej i systemów ekonomicznych na wzrost PKB, jak również biurokratycznego schematu rozwoju zrównoważonego ekonomicznie, ekologicznie i społecznie lansowanego w UE i upowszechnianie refleksji wokół konsekwencji sprzężeń wynikających z alternatywnych alokacji zasobów do różnych sfer bytu ludzkiego. Tę refleksję ma ułatwić proponowana przez autora ośmiosferyczna matryca rozwoju zintegrowanego.
