    Artykuł poświęcony jest analizie pojęcia obiektu obiektywnie ofiarowanego (OOO), które stanowi ważne zagadnienie w twórczości Gherasima Luki. W pomyślanym jako manifest OOO wprowadzeniu do Biernego wampira, najsłynniejszej prozy Luki z lat czterdziestych XX wieku, narrator przedstawia towarzyską grę polegającą na konstruowaniu kolażowych obiektów. Obiekty te uzyskują w akcie ofiarowania ich konkretnym osobom nadnaturalne moce i jako fetysze przejmują kontrolę nad pragnieniami podmiotu. Pojęcie OOO omawiane jest w artykule w powiązaniu z teorią Hartmuta Böhmego, który określa obiekty-fetysze mianem niedostępnych i ambiwalentnych (są one bowiem jednocześnie pożądane i pożądliwe). Konceptem OOO Luca zaświadcza o wiodącej roli obiektów w myśli i praktyce twórczej rumuńskich surrealistów. 
    The paper analyzes the notion of objectively offered object (OOO) which is a crucial part of Gherasim Luca’s Surrealist oeuvre. In the manifesto-like foreword to his early masterpiece, The Passive Vampire, Luca masterminds the game of constructing collage objects, which gain supranatural powers when offered to somebody. Becoming a fetish, the OOO could be interpreted in Hartmut Böhme’s terms as ambivalent and unapproachable thing, shifted between desire and anxiety. With this concept Luca proves the predominant role of the Surrealist object in the theories and textual praxis of the Romanian avant-garde.

    The aim of this article is to discuss the crucial difference between the notions of ‘avant-garde’ (from Lyotard’s or Danto’s essays) and Perloff’s or Bolecki’s ‘modernism’ and to suggest a new, exclusive rather than inclusive, approach to literary studies, based on the experimental theory and poetics of Surrealism. This so-called “surrealist attitude” could be applied in the literary and cultural studies as a twofold paradigm: on the one hand, it focuses on the verbal or textual aspect of the avant-garde experiments (utilizing Bürger’s or Barthes’ theories), on the other hand, it gives an opportunity to acknowledge their anthropological or sociological character marked by Baudrillard, Danto, Foster, or Krajewski. In this perspective, the substantial process of abandonment of reality (Lyotard), which stands for the dominant element of the avant-garde aesthetics, could be connected with the crisis of represetation and with the binary nature of the objects (simultaneously, the textual/internal and contextual/exteral forms).

    Artykuł poświęcony został zagadnieniu przedmiotu surrealistycznego w estetyce kierunku wyłaniającego się z wczesnych pism głównego teoretyka surrealizmu André Bretona. Przyjęta przez autora perspektywa badawcza wpisuje rozważania nad surrealizmem w szerszą refleksję teoretycznoliteracką, kulturoznawczą i filozoficzną. Z tego punktu widzenia pojęcie przedmiotu surrealistycznego rozumiane jest zarówno jako kluczowe założenie rewolucyjnej estetyki, jak i zapowiedź współczesnych „teorii rzeczy” w socjologii, antropologii i badaniach kulturowych. Autor definiuje pojęcie przedmiotu surrealistycznego w odniesieniu do koncepcji Rolanda Barthes’a, Jeana Baudrillarda, Arthura C. Danto czy Michela Foucaulta. Zarysowana zostaje w ten sposób „perspektywa przedmiotowa” sytuująca obiekt surrealistyczny, po pierwsze – jako pozbawiony desygnatu znak w przestrzeni tekstu (kryzys referencjalności), po drugie zaś – jako autonomiczny byt w nadrzeczywistości, który przejmuje kontrolę nad podmiotem i powoduje redukcję jego tożsamości. „Perspektywa przedmiotowa” miałaby zwracać uwagę zarówno na tekstowe uwarunkowania przedmiotu surrealistycznego, jak i na jego rolę w kształtowaniu współczesnych teorii kulturowych.
    The paper examines the problem of the “Surrealist object” in the aesthetics of this Avant-Garde movement, as seen in the works of its main representative, André Breton. The research perspective applied by the author is intended to place the reflection on Surrealism within the wider field of study of such disciplines as cultural studies, anthropology, sociology and philosophy. From this point of view, the notion of a “Surrealist object” is considered not only a key concept of a revolutionary aesthetics, but also an announcement of the modern “theories of things”, present in anthropology, design and cultural studies. The author defines the notion of the “Surrealist object”, referring to the ideas of Roland Barthes, Jean Baudrillard, Arthur C. Danto or Michel Foucault. In this way, an “objective paradigm” is characterized, which sets a new status of the “Surrealist object”. First of all, it appears as a sign without a denotation in the textual space (crisis of referentiality), second of all it obtains an autonomous essence in the surreality, in which it takes control of the subject and reduces its identity. Starting from this postulate, the author focuses on establishing of a “Surrealist approach”, which could deal both with the textual aspects of a “Surrealist object” and with its influence on the development of the modern cultural theories.

This work documents a combination of the poetics of “orthodox” surrealism with strictly autobiographical narration based on personal experience.

    The interview by Marta Baron-Milian and Piotr Bogalecki with Jakub Kornhauser, who has been translating Gherasim Luca’s prose works from Romanian and French and popularizing them, aims at locating the bilingual oeuvre of the author of The Passive Vampire within the field of Romanian and French literature and on the map of avant-garde practices, particularly considering the history of surrealism. The problems raised in the interview focus on the workings of history in Luca’s texts, on their political character, and the undertaken interpretations are directed at attempts to capture the oeuvre of this author inter alia through the prism of the marrano figure, economic metaphors and stammer, which is a peculiarity of Luca’s language both in poetry and in prose.
