petroleum hydrocarbons - Opis:
- Aeration is the preceding process in chemical coagulation and it is applied to cause separation of dispersed petroleum hydrocarbons from wastewater. Chemistry of this process is based on long-chain hydrocarbons molecules breakdown by introducing oxygen to dangling bonds of hydrocarbon chains resulting in a breakdown into smaller chains. Then, in coagulation process by means of an added chemical bonding agent smaller hydrocarbons are recombined into large aggregates that sediment or flotate. Chemical and physical properties diversity of these substances has forced the need to develop methods that in most possible and efficient will obviate or reduce pollution caused by petroleum products. In this study the aeration – coagulation system was examined in petroleum products disposal from water. In laboratory research average petroleum products removal efficiency amounted to 54.43%.
