The aim of the present study was to examine how students and teachers perceive romantic relationships of adolescents. On the basis of Osgood’s semantic differential scale, the 11-dimensions questionnaire was developed. The sample comprised 135 people – 74 students and 61 teachers. The results indicated that both students and teachers evaluated the romantic relationships of young people rather positively and their perception was similar. However, in case of four out of eleven dimensions, statistically significant differences were noted. The most divergent assessments was observed regarding the durability of adolescent relationships.

The current study aimed to examine how students and teachers perceive romantic relationships formed by adolescents. To this end, a measure was constructed based on Osgood’s semantic differential and comprising 11 dimensions. One hundred and thirty-five participants – 74 students and 61 teachers – took part in the study. The results showed that both students as well as teacher rated adolescent romantic relationships rather positively, and their perceptions are similar. However, statistically significant differences were noted for four out of 11 dimensions. The greatest differences concerned the ratings of the length of adolescent romantic relationships.

The teacher’s misbehaviour has an adverse influence on students’ motivation and adjustment in school. It even has more permanent effects on students than the teacher’s good behaviour. The objective of this study was to apply Korthagen’s model of levels of change in exploring teachers’ most unacceptable characteristics from the perspective of students (n = 158), teachers (n = 78) and parents (n = 148), and to reveal possible differences depending on primary and secondary school and the length of teachers’ experience. The listed characteristics fit Korthagen’s model mostly in the levels of mission, behaviour and identity. Some differences were found between primary and secondary school, as well as ones related to teachers’ length of experience.

Hereby article can be perceived as an attempt to analyze the consequences of pandemics for the society in general and education in particular. It gives an overview of pandemics throughout centuries with special emphasis on education, schools and universities. Attention has been drawn onto the measures having been taken to mitigate the negative consequences pandemics brought about. Special consideration has been devoted to current situation in Poland with the emphasis on negative effects and deep analysis of the reasons which caused chaos and deficiencies in actions undertaken by the authorities, has been put forward. Authors focus on the individual approach of both teachers and students towards distant learning, Reasons and potential consequences of the failure of on-line education. In this article, the authors argue that epidemics are pushing education sideways. The quality of education decreases and the desire to acquire knowledge decreases. The main goal of the article was to show the education process in the past and present under pandemic conditions. The authors made an attempt to show what can be kept in the education process and what must be abandoned. The discussions in this text show education as a victim of a pandemic, about this problem relatively little is said, although value of the education in the development of civilization is unquestionable.

This paper aims to shed some light on the correlation between teacher stress, on the one hand, and motivation of teachers and students, on the other hand – observed in an EFL environment. The data sample comprising responses given by EFL teachers and students from the primary education cycle was collected via the teacher stress measurement scale and motivation for learning scale, applied for teachers and students, respectively. Apart from the basic descriptive statistics used to describe the relationship between the variables, the paper’s methodology is also characterised by applying the Pearson correlation coefficient. The results led to interesting conclusions; while, as expected, workload directly affects stress levels of teachers, who, following the results, are highly motivated to work with teenagers, contrary to what could be believed, teacher motivation is not directly related to student motivation, what could be further analysed in the future studies.

Badania dotyczą procesu kształtowania aspiracji zawodowych rodziców w stosunku do swoich dzieci. Przyjęto założenie, że aspiracje zawodowe związane są z preferowanymi przez rodziców kryteriami oceny zawodów. Dane zebrano od 4931 rodziców uczniów klas IV szkół podstawowych z terenu całego kraju. Ustalono, że rodzice oceniają zawody pod kątem ich uciążliwości, zadowolenia i rozwoju oraz statusu i prestiżu. Uciążliwość, zadowolenie i rozwój są częściej związane z aspiracjami do zawodów wymagających wyższego wykształcenia, a prestiż i status wiąże się z preferowaniem zawodów, do wykonywania których taki poziom nie jest niezbędny. Głównym czynnikiem determinującym te zależności jest poziom wykształcenia rodziców.
The research focuses on the process of shaping the career aspirations of parents towards their children. It was assumed that career aspirations are associated with preferred by the parents of the evaluation criteria of the competition. Data were collected from 4931 parents of students in grades IV primary schools from all over the country. It was found that parents evaluate the competition in terms of their burden, satisfaction and development, and the status and prestige. Nuisance, satisfaction and development are often associated with aspirations to occupations requiring higher education and the prestige and status associated with a preference for the competition to perform with such a level is not necessary. The main factor determining these relationships is the parents’ educational level.

Współczesne przemiany społeczno-kulturowe wpłynęły na przeobrażenia w wielu sferach życia, szczególnie widoczne u młodych ludzi. Coraz częściej podkreśla się w publikacjach popularnych, że współczesnych „młodych” cechuje konsumpcjonizm, materializm i nihilizm moralny. Dlatego celem podjętych badań było sprawdzenie systemu wartości młodych ludzi – studentów. Do badań wybrano szczególną grupę – studentów pedagogiki przedszkolnej i wczesnoszkolnej. Ten zamiar wydaje się szczególnie istotny, gdyż badani wkrótce będą oddziaływać wychowawczo na osobowość dzieci. Od ich kondycji aksjologicznej uzależniony jest zatem proces wprowadzania w świat wartości najmłodszego pokolenia.
Contemporary social and cultural changes influenced transformations in many spheres of life, which are especially visible among young generation. Nowadays, it is more often emphasized in popular publications, that contemporary young people are characterized by consumerism, materialism and moral nihilism. Therefore, the aim of this research was to verify the system of values of young people, namely students of pre-school and early school education. This choice seems to be particularly important, as the respondents will soon have an educational impact on children. Therefore, the process of introducing children to the world of values depends on students’ axiological condition.

This paper discusses security in schools. It analyzes similarities and differences in the evaluation of risks, their types and the scale of their occurrence in the opinion of principals, teachers and students of primary and secondary schools. The research was conducted in primary and secondary schools in a medium-sized city in Poland. It is the first security-related research conducted under the “Safe School” program of the Ministry of National Education in that city. The purpose of the research was to answer the question of how the respective groups of stakeholders (principals, teachers, and students) see risks at schools and what the similarities and differences are in their respective perceptions of the escalation of those risks.

Realizowane badanie koncentrowało się na rozpoznaniu, jak uczniowie i nauczyciele postrzegają związki romantyczne tworzone przez adolescentów. Do tego celu opracowano narzędzie oparte na założeniach dyferencjału semantycznego Osgooda, składające się z 11 wymiarów. W badaniu udział wzięło 135 osób – 74 uczniów i 61 nauczycieli. Uzyskane wyniki wskazują, że zarówno uczniowie, jak i nauczyciele oceniają związki romantyczne młodzieży raczej pozytywnie, a ich postrzeganie jest zbliżone. Dla czterech spośród jedenastu wymiarów odnotowano jednak różnice statystycznie istotne. Najbardziej rozbieżne były oceny dotyczące trwałości związków adolescentów.

The main scientific focus of the paper is the new pedagogical knowledge about the educational activities content and organization for the development of future teachers’ communicative competence, together with the new aspects of educational communication, implemented in the modern information environment. The paper describes the approach to students’ communicative competence development based on the use of educational blogs. During the research students solved professional pedagogical problems, described and discussed their experience in blogs. For each of the problem solved, students had a specially developed activity algorithm. It also serves as a point of reference for professionally active educational psychologists who would like to verify and complete the range of activities they perform. The functions of a psychologist described in the paper may also be of a point of interest for pedagogues, teachers and parents who would like to acquire a better understanding of a kind of help they may expect from an educational psychologist. The article constitutes the characteristics of a school psychologist’s work in relation to an individual student and the whole class, as well as the psychologist’s cooperation with teachers and parents. Moreover, it describes the legal basis of psychological assistance provided at school, the documentation and record keeping.

Artykuł poświęcony jest problematyce współczesnego wychowania fizycznego na Ukrainie. W pierwszych dekadach XXI w. w organizacji wychowania fizycznego w systemie edukacji szkolnej na Ukrainie, w porównaniu z sytuacją z lat 90. XX wieku, zaszło szereg zmian. Rozpoczęto modernizację bazy sportowej większości szkół, więcej uwagi zaczęto poświęcać organizacji sportu szkolnego; coraz większego znaczenia zaczęły nabierać alternatywne formy i metody prowadzenia zajęć wychowania fizycznego w szkole. Niestety, nadal nauczyciele wychowania fizycznego na Ukrainie znajdują się w wyjątkowo trudnej sytuacji, której przyczyną jest między innymi: niski poziom aktywności fizycznej wśród dzieci i młodzieży szkolnej; bierna postawa rodziców wobec wychowania fizycznego i rekreacji ruchowej dzieci w czasie wolnym od zajęć. Priorytetem ukraińskiego wychowania fizycznego pozostaje integracja oświaty ukraińskiej z europejską przestrzenią oświatową.
The article is devoted to the issues of modern physical education in Ukraine. Compared to the situation in the 1990s, there have been a lot of changes in the organization of physical education in the education system in Ukraine in the early decades of the 21st century. Modernization of the sports facilities in many schools has been started, more attention has been given to the sports organization in schools; alternative forms and methods of conducting physical education in schools have gained in significance. Sadly, physical education teachers in Ukraine are still in a very tough spot, which is caused by: a low level of physical activity amongst children and youth; a passive stance from parents regarding physical education and recreation of children in their leisure time, and others. The integration of the Ukrainian and European education systems remains the main priority of the Ukrainian physical education.

W artykule opisano zmagania górnośląskich nauczycieli w dążeniu do zapewnienia im stabilizacji społeczno-ekonomicznej na przykładzie miasta Bytomia w województwie śląskim. Przedstawiono liczbę protestujących placówek edukacyjnych oraz podano przybliżoną liczbę bytomskich nauczycieli biorących udział w ogólnopolskim zrywie nauczycielskim. Określono ogólne przyczyny niezadowolenia środowiska nauczycielskiego z istniejącej sytuacji w systemie edukacji, mającej bezpośredni wpływ na podjęcie akcji protestacyjnej. Ponadto zwrócono uwagę na legalność strajku w szkołach, w szczególności na podpisanie protokołu mediacyjnego, wymaganego w procedurze rozwiązywania sporów zbiorowych, oraz zgłoszenia w Państwowej Inspekcji Pracy. Ustawa o rozwiązywaniu sporów zbiorowych dokładnie określa sposoby postępowania: strajk musi być poprzedzony wystąpieniem z żądaniami do pracodawcy, rokowaniami oraz przeprowadzonymi mediacjami. Warunkiem koniecznym do podjęcia akcji strajkowej jest uczestnictwo w referendum co najmniej połowy pracowników, spośród których większość opowiada się za strajkiem. Informacje zamieszczone w artykule uzyskano z wywiadów pogłębionych przeprowadzonych z dyrektorami szkół oraz ze strajkującymi nauczycielami, a także z danych statystycznych udostępnionych przez Urząd Miasta Bytom. Opisano też, jak zapewniono bezpieczeństwo bytomskim uczniom podczas trwania akcji protestacyjnej nauczycieli.
The article describes the struggles of Upper Silesian teachers in the pursuit of ensuring them the socio-economic stability on the example of the city of Bytom in the Silesian Voivodeship. The number of protesting educational institutions in this city was presented, and the approximate number of Bytom teachers taking part in the nationwide teachers’ strike was given. The general reasons of teachers’ dissatisfaction with the existing situation in the education system have been identified, having a direct impact on taking up the protest action. In addition, attention was also paid to the legality of the strike in schools, and in particular to sign the mediation protocol required in the collective dispute resolution procedure, and the notification in the National Labor Inspectorate. The Act on the settlement of collective disputes specifies exactly how to proceed, namely: the strike must be preceded by submitting demands to employers, negotiations and mediations. A necessary condition for undertaking a strike action is participation in the referendum of at least half of the employees, where most of them are in favor of the strike. The information was obtained on the basis of in-depth interviews with school principals and teachers on strike, as well as on the basis of statistical data provided by the Bytom City Hall. The work also presents the methods of ensuring the safety of Bytom students during the teachers’ protest action.

W trakcie badań pytano szczegółowo o obawy i odczucia, jakie mogą towarzyszyć osobom jąkającym się, ale także wobec osób mówiących niepłynnie. Sprawdzono ponadto opinie rówieśników oraz nauczycieli, mających bezpośredni kontakt z uczniem zmagającym się z niepłynnością mowy, na temat stereotypów dotyczących jąkania się. W dalszej części zweryfikowano wiedzę badanych na temat znanych im zasad skutecznej komunikacji i podejścia terapeutycznego w przypadku jąkania się, a także sposobu ich omawiania na forum klasy. Na podstawie badań określono podobieństwa i różnice między podejściem nauczycieli i uczniów.  
In this article, the authors present the results of a survey on attitudes towards speech disfluency. The survey was conducted in Poland at the turn of 2020 among nearly 700 students and 100 teachers. The respondents answered questions about the fears and feelings that stutterers may have as well as about the attitudes towards people who stutter. In addition, Kamila Kuros-Kowalska and Natalia Moćko enquired among peers and teachers who have direct contact with a student struggling with speech disfluency about their opinions on the stereotypes concerning stuttering. A further section of the survey checked the respondents’ knowledge of the principles of effective communication, the therapeutic approach to stuttering, and the ways of discussing them in the classroom. Based on their research, Kuros-Kowalska and Moćko have identified similarities and differences between the teachers’ and students’ attitudes to stuttering.
