    Opis:
    The main of this article is to present the results of a pilot study carried out among 476 students of selected foreign languages at Warsaw University. The research covered the following  issues: (1) students’ interest in various courses included in philology studies (literature, linguistics, foreign language didactics, etc.); (2) the dominant motivation for undertaking philological studies and (3) students’ initial career plans. The research is diagnostic and descriptive and it will be continued at over a dozen Polish universities. The main goal of this project is to build  a social representation of foreign language studies in Poland today. The Polish Association of Modern Languages (PTN) is a patron of the study.

    An unwritten rule in many countries says that it is very important or even necessary to know at least one foreign language. Undoubtedly, there are many factors which influence our language acquisition and have been extensively researched in order to ensure that they address the needs of different students. The elements which affect our language abilities are motivation, techniques, methods but also appropriate language strategy. For many years experts have paid attention to the plans that students use in order to achieve results in their study. In their research they have decided to reject the way of study based on particular principles or methods and they have decided to concentrate on students. Moreover, they have started to explore the nature of Language Learning Strategies and the matter how they influence receiving foreign language. The results of their investigations are considered to be the greatest causes in the process of language acquisition, by focusing on differences in language realisation.

    Rola tłumaczenia w nauczaniu języka rosyjskiego jako obcego studentów rusycystyki na przykładzie badania studentów słowackich z Wydziału Filozoficznego Uniwersytetu w Preszowie Stosowanie tłumaczenia w nauczaniu języków (ang. Translation in Language Teaching, TILT) miało wzloty i upadki w swojej historii. Chociaż dominowało w Grammar Translation Method (GTM), wraz z pojawieniem się Metody bezpośredniej i innych nurtów reformujących proces edukacji  niektórzy uczeni nakłaniali do odrodzenia TILT, ponieważ wierzyli, że tłumaczenie może ułatwić proces nauczania języka. W artykule zaprezentowano krótki przegląd literatury przedmiotu oraz wyniki ankiety, które sugerują, że tłumaczenie jest użytecznym narzędziem w nauce języka rosyjskiego, mającym na celu podniesienie kompetencji językowych studentów. Роль перевода в обучении русскому языку как иностранному студентов-русистов на примере опроса словацких студентов Философского факультета Прешовского университета В современных условиях образования повышается необходимость использования перевода в процессе обучения русского языка как иностранного. Использование перевода в истории преподавания иностранного языка имело много взлетов и падений. Считается, что перевод доминировал во время господства грамматико-переводного метода обучения, но с появлением прямого метода и других реформированных методов, перевод утрачивает свою ведущую позицию. Однако, в последнее время некоторые ученые призывают к возрождению использования перевода в обучении, поскольку перевод может облегчить процесс изучения языка. В данной статье приводится краткий обзор теоретической литературы, анализ результатов проведенного исследования в Прешовском университете. Результаты исследования свидетельствуют о том, что перевод является полезным инструментом в обучении русскому языку, направленным на совершенствование иноязычных навыков студентов.
    The use of Translation in Language Teaching (TILT) has had many ups and downs over its history. While it was dominant during the Grammar Translation Method (GTM), by the advent of the “Direct Method” and “Reform Movement”, however, some scholars were calling for the revival of TILT, as they believed that translation could facilitate the process of language learning. This paper is based on a brief overview of the theoretical literature and an analysis of the results of the survey. The findings of this survey suggest that translation is a useful tool in Russian-language learning, aimed at the enhancement of students’ foreign language skills.

    This article’s main aim is to present the results of research concerning the barriers in foreign language learning. It analyses various obstacles indicated by 342 students from both philological and non-philological departments. Those factors have been subdivided into three groups, each dealing with a different type of barriers: external objective barriers, barriers associated with behavior and competence of the teacher as well as concerning language courses, and, finally, cognitive, affective, and personality related barriers.

    Opis:
    The article analyzes the educational regulations that provide for the use of primary school teachers of various digital resources for the study of academic disciplines. The task of information and communication competence in foreign language and mathematics lessons from typical educational programs edited by O. Savchenko and R. Shiyan is singled out. The possibilities of Internet and digital resources from different countries of the world in the study of academic disciplines by students of the first cycle of primary education are analyzed in detail. In the article, the authors are of the opinion that digital resources in the modern world, with the skillful use of primary school teachers in the classroom and in extracurricular activities, will contribute to the education of students and their willingness to accept innovations. The article is recommended for primary school teachers, students of higher education institutions in the field of „Primary Education".
    W artykule przeanalizowano regulacje edukacyjne przewidujące wykorzystanie podstawowych zasobów cyfrowych przez nauczycieli szkół podstawowych do nauki dyscyplin akademickich. Wyróżniono zadanie kompetencji informacyjnych i komunikacyjnych na lekcjach języka obcego i matematyki w typowych programach edukacyjnych pod redakcją O. Savchenki i R. Shiyana. Możliwości wykorzystania Internetu i zasobów cyfrowych z różnych krajów świata w nauczaniu uczniów pierwszego cyklu edukacji podstawowej są szczegółowo analizowane. W artykule autorzy są zdania, że zasoby cyfrowe we współczesnym świecie, dzięki umiejętnemu wykorzystaniu przez nauczycieli szkół podstawowych w klasie i podczas zajęć pozalekcyjnych, przyczynią się do edukacji uczniów i ich gotowości do przyjmowania innowacji. Artykuł polecany jest nauczycielom szkół podstawowych, studentom szkół wyższych z zakresu „Edukacja początkowa".
