    Jednym z przejawów współczesnego kryzysu człowieka jest modlitwa. Publikacja podejmuje tę problematykę w kontekście wyzwań cywilizacyjnych. Posługując się metodą analityczną, wskazuje na genotypiczne i fenotypiczne fundamenty modlitwy. Kluczowe jest doświadczenie wynikające z Pisma Świętego, które jest modlitewno-uświęcającym dialogiem. Punktem szczytowym tego procesu jest osoba Jezusa Chrystusa. W tym kontekście konieczne jest zauważenie i sprecyzowanie współczesnych wyzwań, które są wielowarstwowe oraz wieloaspektowe. Cywilizacyjny postęp, który znalazł się w centrum współczesnej egzystencji wraz z narastającą apostazją, postawił człowieka w centrum wszechświata. To spowodowało potężne zachwianie antropologiczno-tożsamościowe. Analiza wskazuje, że odniesienie do Boga jako Prawdy w modlitewnym dialogu interpersonalnym, może prowadzić do odzyskania przez człowieka jego tożsamości.
    One of the manifestations of the contemporary human crisis is prayer. This article addresses this issue in the context of the challenges of civilization. Using the analytical method, the genotypic and phenotypic foundations of prayer are indicated. The key is the experience of Holy Scripture, which is a prayer-sanctifying dialogue. The culmination point of this process is the person of Jesus Christ. In this context, it is necessary to notice and specify contemporary challenges, which are multilayered and multi-faceted. The progress of civilization, which is at the center of modern existence along with increasing apostasy, has placed man at the center of the universe. This has caused a huge anthropological and identity disturbance. The analysis shows that referring to God as Truth in a prayerful interpersonal dialogue can lead to a person regaining his identity.

    Opis:
    The development of theology over the centuries of the Church’s life and activity is accomplished through publications. They express the theologians’ positions, opinions and hypotheses. Among Polish theological journals, “Collectanea Theologica”, which has its origins in Lviv (“Przegląd Teologiczny”), plays a special role. Though it is connected with the Warsaw theological environment, it not only covers Poland but also goes beyond its borders, as evidenced by the foreign publications and foreign-language authors. Undoubtedly, this journal has become a very serious and rich source of and platform for the development of the theology of spirituality. Its existence is connected with the independence of this branch of the theology, and therefore from the beginning of its existence we find in the journal highly valuable and serious materials on spirituality.The analysis of the publications, which are the result of research conducted over a hundred years, allows us to conclude that we are dealing with an unusual and multidirectional wealth. It should be stated that the publications present an interdisciplinary nature of the research conducted. The study outlines the main directions of the development of the theology of spirituality and their documentation. It can be said that these publications reflect theological trends in the universal Church. Both the documents of the Church and of the popes as well as the events became an inspiration for the authors. Historical, social and even political events were not without their significance and influence. Of particular importance is the development of native Polish theology, having its own specificity and contributing richly to the life of the whole universal Church. We define such a achievement as the “Polish school of spirituality”.

    The prayer of a Christian is the subject of his daily care in the processof spiritual development. We can say that without it and its dynamic development it is not possible for the spiritual progress of the Christian and theChurch in which he or she lives. It is also a very extensive subject of researchand scientific work in the field of theology and especially the theology ofspirituality. Hence, it must be treated in a multi-faceted and multi-directionalway. Among all the different categories of prayer, community prayer and common prayer are very important. This distinction is necessary because it reveals to us the truth that every prayer has a communal character, but it is not always common. However, prayer celebrated together is the source of Christian life and the Church, and it is the clearest and most readable testimony of faith.

    In the age of secularisation, prayer is becoming an increasingly difficult act of believers to understand. Extremely dangerous individualism and subjectivism is the contemporary threat to common and community prayer. All of this makes it necessary to take a new look at this category of prayer so that it leads to an authentic testimony from Christians in the world. In this way, it also prevents the dangerous exclusivity of believers themselves when faced with challenges. Among the whole variety and categories of prayers, communal prayer and the prayer of community are very important. This distinction is necessary because it reveals to us the truth that every prayer has a communal character even though it is not always a common prayer. However, prayer celebrated together is the source of life for the Christian, the Church and the clearest and most readable testimony of faith.

    Pokój należy do fundamentalnych wartości życia ludzkiego, a także jest fundamentem budowania cywilizacji. Analiza historii prowadzi do stwierdzenia, że nie można mówić o czasie czy też okresie absolutnego pokoju. Niepełna jest także definicja twierdząca, że pokój to brak wojny i przemocy. Warto zatem zadać sobie pytanie o istotę i naturę pokoju a także realność jego zaistnienia. Sięgając do nauczania papieża Benedykta XVI, odnajdujemy spójną koncepcję dążenia do pokoju na fundamencie prawdy, miłości, sprawiedliwości, wolności i pojednania. Papież wskazuje, że te wartości zakorzenione są w naturze człowieka. To sprawia, że dyskusja na temat pokoju staje się wielowymiarowa i nie może być zamknięta w ciasnej konfesyjności.
    Peace belongs to the fundamental values of human life, and it is also the foundation of civilisation-building. An analysis of history leads to the conclusion that it is not possible to speak of a time or period of absolute peace. A definition claiming that peace is the absence of war and violence is also incomplete. It is therefore worth asking the question about the essence and nature of peace as well as the reality of its occurrence. Turning to the teachings of Pope Benedict XVI, we find a coherent conception of the pursuit of peace on the foundations of truth, love, justice, freedom and reconciliation. The Pope points out that these values are rooted in human nature. This makes the discussion on peace multidimensional, so that it cannot be confined within a narrow confessionalism.
