    Spatial turn is one of the cultural turns, which have recently occurred in the humanities. It stresses the importance of issues such as space and place and can be successfully used as a theoretical perspective gaining use in thought over issues such as globalisation, transnationality, mapping but also education. In the discourses of pedagogical science space and place are considered through their multidimensional impact on education and learning. As significant concepts  rooting pedagogy or pedagogy of borderland. The pedagogical reflection on space could be also used in the field of animation practices, especially in activities, which are related to place somehow colonised.

    Opis:
    The article considers the consequences of spatial turn. This turn didnot limit itself merely to the creation of a new methodology and researchtools. Instead it covered a much wider scope, as it allowed conclusions to bedrawn not only on cultural discourse but also transformation within otherareas of research as politics, patterns of common memory andideology,as well as a change in the processes of establishing the rulesof sociallife. The awareness of the extent to which space determines the conditionsof existence was directly linked to the perception of human activity asinherently “located”. The growing interest into the spatial dimension ofindividual and collective experience provides an insight into the issue froma broader perspective. At the same time the topographical turn contributedto the reformulation of other basic terms such as language, subject, culture,literary and artistic practice, and finally, the research and the researcher’sposition in its own right.

    In this article, the author presents the hermeneutic perspective of research in urban studies (‘hermeneutics of the city’) carried out within the field of cultural urban studies. ‘Hermeneutics of the city’ is still an unrealized project within the spatial turn in cultural studies. It is necessary to review and systematize the existing positions that make up the ‘hermeneutics of the city’ and outline its frameworks as theory.

The “spatial turn,” as it is called by Fredric Jameson, is connected with a postmodern individual’s immersion in a perpetual present. The separation of the individual from the past and the future, which has resulted in the deconstruction of the subject’s temporality, was caused by the processes characteristic of late capitalism. Spatialization of time in postmodernism expresses the integrity of space and time, the changing relations between them and their new conceptualizations. These changes are reflected in post-classical cinema that is quite often characterized by modular temporality. The plots of those films are divided into spatio-temporal modules whose order is rearranged into a non-chronological syuzhet. Simultaneously, those films depict multifaceted human experience of time and the temporalization of space. Michael and Peter Spierig’s film Predestination (2014) blends the spatialization of time, characteristic of classical cinema, in which space and time are static entities, with post-classical nonlinear arrangement of the plot. Presenting space-time as static modules allows the directors to show subjectivity governed by the categories of space, rather than by the continuity over time. Jednocześnie filmy te przedstawiają psychologiczne niejednorodne doświadczenie czasu ludzkiego oraz temporalizację przestrzeni. Film Michaela i Petera Spierig Przeznaczenie (Predestination, 2014) łączy uprzestrzennienie czasu, charakterystyczne dla filmu klasycznego, gdzie czas i przestrzeń to pasywne wymiary, z post-klasyczną nielinearną organizacją fabuły. Przedstawienie czasoprzestrzeni w formie statycznych modułów pozwala na pokazanie podmiotowości rządzonej nie ciągłością w czasie, ale poprzez kategorie przestrzeni.
