Celem niniejszego artykułu jest przedstawienie modelu rozwoju symulacyjnego systemu walki JTLS, współpracy między użytkownikiem i producentem systemu oraz wpływu ewolucji systemu symulacyjnego na rozbudowę infrastruktury teleinformatycznej CSiKGW. W opracowaniu zwrócono także uwagę na potrzebę stabilnego finansowania eksploatowanych systemów informatycznych oraz szczególne znaczenie gestora w procesie wdrażania i użytkowania systemów teleinformatycznych wykorzystywanych w SZ RP.
The purpose of this article is to present a development model of the Joint Theater Level simulation system, cooperation between user and manufacturer of the system and impact of the JTLS evolution on the War Games and Simulation Centre IT infrastructure. Attention is also drawn to the need of stable financing of computer systems infrastructure and the administrator’s particular role in implementing and using telecommunication systems utilised in Polish Armed Forces.

This paper discusses the dynamic system solution with three degree of freedom consist a weightless cable thrown over two fixed side pulleys and the third, free pulley moving along the rope. The cable is stretched with weights attached to its ends and the weight of the free pulley causes the cable dip. Passive resistance on the pulleys stops them from moving. The mathematical description uses a system of differential equations combined with complex kinematic relationships and a description of the passive resistances. The set of equations is converted to a format suitable for numerical solution and a simulation model is created in the Matlab -Simulink program. The results are presented in the form of various relations of kinematic and dynamic system variables.

The purpose of the investigation was to work out a simulation model for the starting system and to verify it on a real object. The reliability analysis of the starting system was carried out on the worked out model. Experimental tests were carried out on the ELKON-SUPER 3 test stand. Angular velocity, torque, voltage and current drawn by the starter were recorded during the tests.

For purposes of studying the heat transfer behavior of various fluids in a refrigeration system, a dynamic model is established, obtained on the basis of analysis concerning the effects of adsorption velocity, adsorbent bed temperature, condensing temperature, and heat transfer fluids, as well as changes of external conditions. It is demonstrated that adsorption velocity increases sharply in the initial phase of adsorption process and gradually declines after reaching a peak value, whereas condensing temperature increases sharply in the initial phase of desorption process and decreases after reaching a peak value with the desorption quantity decreasing. Furthermore, the increase of heat source temperature and the decrease of cooling water temperature can advance the adsorption process. The present study therefore suggests some ways of improving the performance of such a refrigeration system by increasing heat source temperature, decreasing ambient air temperature, increasing return air temperature and decreasing cooling water temperature.

The known navigational systems in use and methods of navigational decision support perform information functions and as such are helpful in the process of safe conduct of a vessel. However, none of these known systems provides a navigator with ready solutions of collision situations taking account of all the vessels in the proximity of own ship, where the Collision Regulations apply. Another shortcoming of these systems is that they do not explain the assessment of a navigational situation and proposed manoeuvre parameters. Results of testing in simulation condition of NAVDEC — new Navigational Decision Supporting System developed by research team of prof. Pietrzykowski [Pietrzykowski et al., 2012a], [Pietrzykowski et al., 2012b] — were presented in this paper.
Znane, będące obecnie w użyciu systemy nawigacyjne, jak również metody nawigacyjnego wspomagania decyzji pełnią funkcje informacji i jako takie są pomocne w procesie bezpiecznego prowadzenia statku. Żaden z tych znanych systemów nie dostarcza jednak nawigatorowi gotowych rozwiązań sytuacji kolizyjnej z uwzględnieniem wszystkich statków znajdujących się w pobliżu oraz odpowiednich przepisów międzynarodowych. Inna wadą istniejących systemów jest to, że nie podają one oceny sytuacji nawigacyjnej i proponowanych parametrów manewru. W artykule przedstawiono wyniki testowania w warunkach symulowanych systemu NAVDEC — nowego nawigacyjnego systemu wspomagania decyzji tworzonego przez zespół badawczy prof. Pietrzykowskiego.

The paper presents an approach to modelling and simulation of web systems. The systems are being modelled from the point of view of services realized by them. The formal model of a system, accompanied with a model of a request realization is presented. The main aspect of the paper is a simulation model of client-server interactions that adequately describes the relationship between the server response time, its availability and resource utilization. The model was constructed based on the the results of multiple experiments presented in a paper. Moreover, it was implemented in the simulation tool and its accuracy verified against testbed web servers. Apache and IIS servers were analysed.

In the paper the problem of production orders sequencing in a mixed-model production system is considered. The authors present the design of the system and production orders, manufactured in the system. Model of the system consists of an input buffer and an assembly line with a given number of stations. The system is presented in a simplified manner, which provides the ability to compare it (under certain assumptions) with a real system. A virtual model of the mixed-model production system has been created. The main objective is to verify the correct operation of the prepared simulation model and the possibility of generating of input data and acquisition of output data in a mixed-model production system. The question is whether such model can be used to simulate the operation of a mixed-model production system in a manner that represents the outcome of a real system.

The article summarizes the experience, skills of the students of technical subjects teaching methodologies using a number of software products. Solve specific assigned tasks described in this paper. Task is about the problems of automation and mechanization in the industry. That helps to improve the skills of praxis, through the design of construction and of controlling. Specifically it focuses on introducing automation in the wood industry. Article describes the design of the automation process for marking wooden hammers. Similar problems are solved by students in Computer Aided (CA) systems. The control process of automation is realized through the electro-pneumatic circuits. These circuits are creating in software FluidSIM 4 that is used as a simulation tool. FluidSIM 4 is comprehensive software for creation, simulation, instruction and study of electro-pneumatic, electro-hydraulic and digital circuits.

An investigation of the Mosul reservoir system within the Tigris river basin in Iraq was conducted to determine the ability of the system to generate hydroelectric power. A reproduction model utilizing the Simulink environment on the MATLAB platform was used to imitate the Mosul reservoir system. The reliability of the system under various future scenarios of data sources was also examined by employing a stochastic model used to create an inflow time series. The Thomas–Fiering model was chosen for this reason, which provided a wide range of data sources (inflows) to generate hydropower from the reservoir system under examination. Generally, the annual potential capacity of the Mosul basin for energy generation reaches 20,000 GW·h–1. Realizing that Iraq’s energy requirements are approximately 12 GW of power, and the integrating power production of the basin under examination is about 1.5 GW, this would cover around 12% of the total demand, which is significant.

Praca dotyczy sekwencyjnego reaktora biologicznego (szarżowego) SBR, stosowanego w oczyszczalniach ścieków. Autorzy skupili się na potrójnym reaktorze SBR i opracowali jego model symulacyjny. Opracowano także modele sterowań sekwencyjnych takimi reaktorami. Modele symulacyjne pozwalają analizować poprawność sterowań i bieżące poziomy ścieków w zbiornikach rozpatrywanej oczyszczalni. Wyniki symulacji mogą być wykorzystane na etapie projektowania oczyszczalni oraz w czasie eksploatacji działających reaktorów do prognozowania stanów krytycznych.
The project concerns of SBR reactor control system used in biological treatment plant. The authors developed the simulation model of triple SBR reactor as well as and the models of sequence control system. The simulation models allow to analyze work of the control system and the current level of sewage in reservoirs of the sewage treatment plant. The advantage of simulation models could be taken during plant designing. They could be also useful for monitoring and prediction of critical states of working reactors.

In some cases the classical performance indexes are not adequate for the performance evaluation of the concentration control systems. Therefore, the specific performance index is proposed in this paper. This index depends on the product of the product flow rate and some function of the deviation of the product concentration from the set point. In order to minimize this performance index the special control system is proposed. This special control system used to the forced circulation evaporator is studied using simulation techniques. The simulation results show that the system described in this paper produces the performance index less than classical control system.

Research background: Managerial scientists use a lot of modelling techniques for business processes. In this paper we are focused on agent-based modelling and simulations, which emerged in the last two decades as a new approach. Autonomous and interacting intelligent agents are able to model and simulate complex systems in the business sphere. With the use of agent-based modelling and simulations we are able to understand how macro level outcomes are affected by micro level processes and vice versa. Purpose of the article: The purpose of the paper is to introduce recent development in the area of agent-based modelling and simulations focused on the business domain. Managers often have to make difficult decisions under the uncertainty and high risks. Agent-based modelling can provide powerful tools for lowering those risks through a possibility of running experiments, which is normally impossible in economics. In the second part we want to support the usefulness of agent-based simulations with our own simulations. Methods: The method used in this article is an agent-based simulation in a multi-agent system. We use a framework called MAREA. It is a simulation environment with integrated ERP system based on REA ontology. Our simulation model is based on a retail company that sells electronics. For simplicity, in our setup we trade with computer cables. Findings & Value added: In our simulations we experimented with the quality of sales service provided by company’s sales representatives. We investigated the impact of quality of sales service on company KPIs under the changing environment circumstances represented by disturbance agent. The quality of sales service is a part of quality of service and thus it affects the perception of brand and loyalty of customers towards the company. In our simulation setup we work with two types of customers, long-term customers and new ones. The result is that quality of sales service has mostly positive effects on company KPIs.
