Opis:: In the article a fuzzy-logic based algorithm for ship motion control is presented. The system operates in an open-closed loop control system with set-point changes and wind action being compensated. a detailed description of the feedback loop controller is given. The controller has a hierarchical structure, in which independent coordinated fuzzy-logic controllers for vessel motion components are situated. The controllers perform in two modes: as velocity controllers and position controllers. The paper is completed with computer simulations.

Opis:: The paper presents the problem of the wind influence on a ship during the turning manoeuvre and the influence on this manoeuvre. Attention has been paid to the necessity of attaching larger attention to the influence of the wind during the turning manoeuvre. The analysis of the wind influence on this manoeuvre has been conducted.
W artykule został podjęty problem oddziaływania wiatru na statek podczas manewru obracania i wpływ na ten manewr. Zwrócono uwagę na konieczność przywiązywania większegoznaczenia na oddziaływanie wiatru podczas manewru obracania. Przeprowadzono analizę wpływu wiatru na ten manewr.

Opis:: In this paper there is undertaken an attempt to present the formal description of the ship’s navigation process. This formal description takes into account not only all the most important ship’s characteristics that influence the ship’s motion but also all the most important environmental characteristics influencing the ship’s behaviour at sea. The formal description comprises the following issues: ship’s navigation process, navigational information, dynamic of the ship’s motion, equations describing the ship’s navigation process, and mathematical models of ship’s navigation process.
