Opis:
The paper presents the results of the sensitivity analysis of the variability of thermal conductivity and specific heat values on temperature field and pore pressure distribution during the flooding process simulation. The sensitivity analysis was carried out using data obtained from numerical modellings. During numerical modellings the simulation of flooding process included flooding and discharging the tank, with maximum water level equal to 3.0 m was performed. 2D model was realized using Fast Lagrangian Analysis of Continua (FLAC) 7.0 software, which is a two-dimensional explicit finite difference program for engineering mechanics computation. The results presented in this paper show that the sensitivity analysis method is powerful technique that can be used in detection of area within the embankment where the biggest impact on variability of thermal conductivity are presented. It may be helpful in selecting the best area for pore pressure and temperature sensors location.

Opis:
The purpose of the study was to analyze the combined model of bioheat transfer and oxygen distribution in tissue during exposition to the external heat impulse. The effect of temperature and thermal damage to the tissue on the values of its thermophysical parameters was taken into account. The variable value of the perfusion coefficient affects the blood velocity in the capillary and thus the distribution of the partial oxygen pressure in the tissue. Various models of the oxygen dissociation curves were also considered and a sensitivity analysis was performed for the parameters of the oxygen distribution model. In the numerical realization stage, the finite difference method and the shooting method were used.

Opis:
The mathematical model of thermal processes in the casting domain can be formulated using the fixed domain approach. The energy equation corresponding to this model contains the parameter called a substitute thermal capacity (STC), in which the alloy latent heat appears. The aim of considerations is the application of sensitivity analysis methods for estimation of temperature field changes due to the perturbations of alloy latent heat. In this the analytical form of STC results from the consideration concerning the lever arm model and the Scheil model. The equations determining the sensitivity function are found using the so-called direct approach. At the stage of numerical modeling the finite difference method is used. In the final part of the paper the example of computations is shown.

Opis:
Anisotropic rotor configurations influenced by the presence of a large number of geometrical parameters in a permanent magnet assisted synchronous reluctance (PMASR) motor pose design challenges in obtaining a robust geometry satisfying the requirements of reduced torque ripple and high torque density. Therefore, the purpose of this work is to perform detailed geometrical sensitivity analysis of a 36 slot/4 pole permanent magnet assisted synchronous reluctance (PMASR) motor using h-indexing and level sensitivity analysis in order to specify a guideline for designers to prioritize the design variables for optimization. Systematic multi-level design optimization for multiple objectives is implemented by an NSGA-II algorithm aided by the finite element analysis tool, hardware prototyping and experimental validation. The optimized designs also exhibit better structural and thermal characteristics.
