This article starts with an analysis of sensitivity, which is a two-sided trait. We value and admire sensitive people, but we may also consider them to be weak individuals, unable to cope. An overly intense reception of the world can sometimes lead to alienation. In today’s computerized, rationalized world, where efficiency matters above all, feelings can be a burden; reflection postpones immediate success. However, academic knowledge and artistic creativity require sensitivity to the world and the individualization of thinking and feeling. In considering philosophical ideas and the findings of researchers of the human mind, the author demonstrates that sharpened sensitivity and being different are essential traits of the creative attitude, while their lack testifies to a society’s regression.

Opis:
New technologies operate according to Boolean ratiomorphic mechanisms (ratiomorphism can be defined as unconscious, innate, genetically determined and survival-driven cognitive faculties of organisms). Consequently, the contemporary media are not conducive to either cognitive or – most of all – emotional sensitivity. Instead, it is being suppressed and eliminated from social life, and so is empathy. The disappearance of emotional sensitivity and empathy is a serious threat to the human world as we (still) know it. Paradoxically, the hope for saving them may involve a certain form of ratiomorphism that I the author of the article call refers to as axiomorphism. Axiomorphism is when ratiomorphism is teleonomically oriented toward ethical and aesthetic values recognized in the human world, such as goodness or beauty.

Opis:
Observing our life in the modern world of today’s technology, the author is wondering whether we are facing sensitization or desensitization of technology users. The problem is discussed in the context of technomorphization of humans on the one hand, and anthropomorphisation of machines on the other. In the analysis the sociological approach is confronted with other perspectives, particularly the cognitive and anthropological ones, which are inevitable in HMI (human-machine interaction) studies. The author concludes by trying to answer a number of questions: Are we truly experiencing technomorphization? Is it only bringing us harm, or does it also have something useful to offer? Can the technology support sensitivity? And finally, will the machines themselves not turn out to be pre-programmed for sensitivity in the future?

The aim of the article is to present sensitivity in the context of Jean-Paul Sartre’s existential thought. Based on the definition of sensitivity as the ability to react to stimuli, the author discusses three chosen types of reaction: feeling, premonition and compassion, and puts them in the perspective of the respective themes from Sartre’s philosophy of existence: being, time and relationship. The paper discusses the place and role of the concept of sensitivity in existentialism, arguing that every human being thrown into this world is forced to react to stimuli due to his or her existential construction. The author also introduces the concept of existential sensitivity – a logical consequence of our life to which we are all condemned.

Opis:
Textile laminate is created by introducing a thermoplastic polymer between the inner layer and outer material, which is then softened by heat. The connection is secured by adhesive properties of the polymer and the pressure applied after the heating zone. The state variables are defined as thus: the temperature of the heating zone and the pressure of rollers for the pressure system. The heat problem is described by the heat transport equation as well as the boundary and initial conditions. The distributions of the mean temperature within the polymer layer can be determined by numerical simulation. The sensitivity of the temperature field to the selected material parameters within clothing laminates is determined.
Laminat włókienniczy jest tworzony przez termoplastyczny polimer zmiękczany cieplnie, wprowadzany między wkład odzieżowy i materiał zewnętrzny. Połączenie jest tworzone dzięki właściwościom adhezyjnym polimeru oraz naciskowi przykładanemu poza strefą nagrzewania. Zmienne stanu to temperatura dla strefy nagrzewania oraz nacisk wałków systemu dociskowego. Problem cieplny jest opisany przez równanie transportu ciepła oraz warunki brzegowe i początkowe. Rozkład średniej temperatury w warstwie polimeru może zostać określony poprzez symulacje numeryczne. Została wyznaczona wrażliwość pola temperatury w laminatach odzieżowych na wybrane parametry materiałowe.

Artykuł prezentuje wyniki analizy porównawczej wrażliwości dwóch prostych struktur układów automatycznej regulacji o dwóch stopniach swobody z układem klasycznym jednopętlowym z regulatorem PID. Analiza wrażliwości w dziedzinie częstotliwości jest klasycznym narzędziem, pozwalającym łatwo porównać badane struktury. Pokazuje bowiem najważniejsze zalety, obnażając większość wad koncepcji. Przedstawione w pracy porównanie funkcji wraliwości układów: klasycznego, MFC oraz MFC/IMC potwierdza znacznie wiekszą odporność tych dwóch ostatnich w przypadku sterowania stabilnymi procesami aperiodycznymi wyższych rzędów. Dodatkowo, wykazuje na ile bardziej tłumione są zakłócenia w strukturach typu model-following.
The paper presents results of comparative analysis of sensitivity of two simple robust two-degree of freedom control structures and the classic single-loop system with PID controller. The sensitivity analysis in the frequency domain is the classic tool, which enables one a simple but effective comparison of compared structures. It exhibits the main advantages, showing all the indulgences of proposed systems at the same time. In addition, the better disturbances rejection in two model-following structures can be simply proved by the presented frequency domain analysis.

The paper aims to outline ways in which the category of sensitivity is perceived and valued in terms of a theory of modern reportage. Self-reflexive statements by such journalists as Ryszard Kapuściński, Wojciech Tochman and Jacek Hugo-Bader are analyzed, who throughout their professiographic reflections often return to this topic. The research reveals that the findings made by these journalists correspond to a significant extent with Susan Sontag’s conclusions in her book Regarding the Pain of Others. On the one hand, the reporters seem to treat sensitivity as a desirable attitude adopted by a journalist in his or her encounter with others, and on the other hand, as a quality that in some cases may stand in conflict with journalistic professionalism.

Piękne odnosi się do tego co już uformowane, ukształtowane, a nie do budynku architektonicznego. Sama forma nie jest jeszcze budynkiem architektonicznym, ale dopiero tym co estetyczne. Zakładając, że forma jest już stworzona, twórca stoi na progu. Z jednej strony jest to, co uformowane, z drugiej strony budynek architektoniczny. Czynność, która polega na nadaniu formie znaczenia, nazwiemy transmutacją. Wiele transmutacji składa się na zamieszkiwanie. Im wrażliwiej transmutujemy materie z której jest zbudowana forma, tym bardziej zamieszkujemy.
Beauty relates to what has been formed, shaped, and not to an architectural building. The form itself is not yet an architectural building, but only that, which is aesthetic. Assuming that the form has been created, the creator is at a verge, with that, which is formed on one hand, and the architectural building on the other. The act of giving meaning to form will be called transmutation. Many transmutations make up dwelling. The more sensitive we are in transmuting the matter of which the form is built, the more we dwell.

Światłość i ciemność. Dwa zjawiska zupełnie sobie przeciwstawne. Światło to prawda, która pozwala poznawać. Droga poznania to droga nawracania, zawracania z ciemności do światła. Światło rozumu, wiedzy, które nie rozgrzewa, pozwala poznawać świat, ludzi, nie przynosi jednak miłości, nie rozwija duchowo. Jest w artykule kojarzone z symbolem życia, stanowi syntezę pozytywnych wartości, które szczególnie dla młodego pokolenia są istotne. Noc, ciemność stanowić może również, symbolicznie wyobrażenie rzeczywistej egzystencji w świecie, które wielokrotnie nie dorównuje marzeniom. Punktem wyjścia artykułu są pozytywne wartości, światło jest znakiem nadziei, radości, szczęścia, optymizmu. Żar młodzieńczy w konfrontacji z nieczułym światem zabija złudzenia, czasami również marzenia. Nasza rzeczywistość jest często szara, przepełniona ludźmi egoistycznie nastawionymi, konsumpcyjnym stylem życia ukierunkowanym na dobra doczesne. Człowiek zmuszony jest żyć w świecie przedmiotów, które jaśnieją światłem niedoskonałym. Stąd potrzeba człowieka, by nieustannie poszukiwać źródła najwyższego światła. Naturalnym, wynikającym z wewnętrznej potrzeby, jak również ratunkiem dla człowieka, jest odzyskanie duchowego słuchu i wzroku – jego rozwój wewnętrzny, duchowy. Dotarcie do najwyższego dobra, stanowi realizację potencjału duchowego człowieka.
Light and darkness. Two completely opposite phenomena. Light stands for the truth which allows to learn. The path to cognition is a path of conversion, of returning from darkness to light. The light of reason, knowledge, which does not warm up, allows to learn about the world, people; it does not, however, bring love, it does not develop spiritually. In this paper it is associated with the symbol of life, it constitutes a synthesis of positive values, particularly important for the young generation. Night, darkness can also serve as a symbolic image of the actual existence in the world, which only too often has little in common with one’s dreams. The starting point for this paper are positive values; light is a symbol of hope, joy, happiness, optimism. Confrontation of youthful zeal with cold-hearted world deprives of illusions, sometimes even of dreams. Our reality is often grey, full of selfish people, consumerist lifestyle directed towards worldly possessions. Man is forced to exist in the world of objects, the light of which is not perfect. Hence man’s need to constantly search for the source of the utmost light. An element which is quite natural and results from man’s inherent needs, which is also man’s salvation, is recovering the spiritual sense of hearing and seeing – man’s internal, spiritual development. Reaching the utmost good constitutes the fulfilment of man’s spiritual potential.

W artykule przedstawiono oddziaływanie impulsów elektromagnetycznych o dużej mocy i wysokiej częstotliwości (w.cz.) na infrastrukturę techniczną obiektów budowlanych. Stosowanie nowoczesnych rozwiązań technicznych w zarządzaniu budynkiem inteligentnym, tj. sterowanie zasobami ludzkimi i systemami automatyki, efektywne zarządzanie przestrzenią budynku, wymaga zastosowania dużej liczby zintegrowanych systemów elektronicznych. Z technicznego punktu widzenia inteligentny budynek to taki obiekt budowlany, w którym wszystkie podsystemy (np. bezpieczeństwa technicznego, klimatyzacji, wentylacji i ogrzewania, oświetlenia, zasilania elektroenergetycznego, teleinformatycznego itd.), współdziałając ze sobą, tworzą przyjazne dla człowieka środowisko. Zastosowanie specjalizowanych układów elektronicznych, procesorów, mikrokontrolerów w tych podsystemach może być przyczynkiem zastosowania broni E jako alternatywy ataku terrorystycznego - obezwładniającego systemy automatyki zarządzania budynkiem [1, 2].
The paper presents the impact of electromagnetic pulses (high power and high frequency pulses - weapon E) on technical infrastructure of buildings [1], The use of modern technologies in intelligent building management i.e. human resources, control and automation systems, efficient buildings space management, requires using a large number of integrated electronic systems. From technical point of view, the intelligent building is a building in which all subsystems (e.g. technical security, air conditioning, ventilation, lighting, power, electricity, etc.), interact with each other and create human-friendly environment. The use of specialized electronic systems, processors, microcontrollers in these subsystems may be a trigger of the use of weapons E as an alternative of terrorist attack - disabling automatic building management systems.

The paper views human sciences as a kind of cultural bond, building unity across all divisions and boundaries. For this purpose it uses arguments proposed by such intellectuals as Nussbaum, Rorty, Markowski and Assmann. It aims at justification of the thesis that humanities serve intrinsic integration and development of personality, social integration, maintaining bonds with the past and history, and creating a sense of common destiny of all human beings. Human sciences expand our horizons, allowing us to transcend the limits of our inborn egoism, they teach us how to imaginatively reach beyond and above the local perspective, creating foundations for interpersonal solidarity, respect, tolerance and compassion. The present political trends in Poland and in the world clearly favor natural and technical sciences, tending to devaluate and to marginalize humanities, which can be a prognostic of cultural regress, with unpredictable consequences for the future.

Artykuł jest próbą przekrojowego oglądu zasad konstrukcji bohatera dziecięcego w literaturze polskiego romantyzmu, z odniesieniem do postaci z wybranej literatury powszechnej tego okresu. Przełom, jaki dokonał się w sposobie przedstawiania dziecka, jego doświadczeń i emocji oraz wartościowania okresu dzieciństwa przez twórców romantyzmu, inspiruje do poszukiwania odpowiedzi na pytania, jakie walory dostrzeżono w dzieciach, co stanowiło o ich wyjątkowości, jak kształtowały się ich relacje z dorosłymi, z rówieśnikami i rodzeństwem, na czym polegała specyfika ich wrażliwości i odmienności w sposobie oglądu świata oraz konfrontacji z doświadczeniami egzystencji, często traumatycznymi, prowadzącymi do śmierci samobójczej. Odkrycie dziecka jako bytu autonomicznego zaowocowało rewolucyjnym podejściem twórców romantyzmu czyniących z istot niedorosłych, obok szalonych, ludu i poety, rewelatorów romantycznego światopoglądu, w tym epistemologii wspartej na pozarozumowym sposobie poznawania świata, objaśniania jego złożonych mechanizmów.
The article is an attempt at a cross-sectional view of the principles of constructing a child hero in the literature of Polish Romanticism, with reference to characters from selected popular literature of that period. The breakthrough that took place in the way of presenting the child, its experiences and emotions, and the evaluation of childhood by the creators of Romanticism inspires us to seek answers to the questions about what values were noticed in children, what made them unique, how their relationships with adults were shaped (including with parents), with peers and siblings, which was the specificity of their sensitivity and differences in the way they perceive the world (the role of imagination and dreams) and confrontation with the experiences of existence, often traumatic, leading to suicide. The discovery of the child as an autonomous being resulted in a revolutionary approach of artists of Romanticism, making the immature beings, alongside the mad, the people and the poets, revelators of the romantic world view, including epistemology based on an extra-rational way of getting to know the world and explaining its complex mechanisms.

W artykule przedstawiono wpływ współczynnika kształtu, precyzji wyznaczenia współczynników materiałowych oraz ilość elementów skończonych, na dokładność wyników w symulacji wytłaczania. Współczynnik kształtu określono jako stosunek wymiarów w płaszczyźnie poziomej elementu skończonego na obwodzie krążka. Przedstawiono zależności naprężeń zredukowanych w stosunku do współczynnika kształtu na obwodzie krążka. Przeprowadzono także analizę wpływu zmiany granicy plastyczności i modułu umocnienia na naprężenia zredukowane. Article presents the influence of the shape factor,precision of determining the materials coefficients and the number of finite elements for the accuracy of the results in the deep drawing simulation. Shape factor is defined as the ratio of the dimensions in the horizontal plane finite element at the periphery of the disc.Presents relations of reduced stresses compared to the shape factor at the circumference of the disc.Was carried out an analysis of how changes in the yield stress and tangent modulus at reduced stresses. Has been verified the effect at the accuracy of the results has a finite number of elements in the disc discretization.

Kategoria wrażliwości postludzkiej (nazwa zaczerpnięta z prac Rosi Braidotti) wydaje się pojęciem kluczowym dla zrozumienia charakteru współczesnej posthumanistyki. Nie oznacza ona zakwestionowania wartości człowieka samego w sobie, lecz skłania nas do ponownego przemyślenia jego podmiotowości w kontekście relacji z innymi bytami i w kontekście globalnych procesów ekonomicznych (w tym ekonomii wrażliwości i jej dyskursywnego charakteru). Wrażliwość powinna łączyć empatię z wiedzą i umiejętnością umiejscowienia się w relacjach z innymi bytami (ludźmi, zwierzętami, grupami społecznymi). Jest radykalnym gestem odwagi w czasach skrajnego indywidualizmu i nietolerancji.
The category of post-human sensitivity (taken from the work of Rosi Braidotti) seems to be a key concept for understanding the nature of modern posthumanist. It doesn’t mean to challenge the man himself, but leads us to the need to rethink its subjectivity in the context of relations with other beings and in the context of global economic processes (including the context of economic sensitivity and its discursive character). Sensitivity should combine empathy with the knowledge and ability to be in a relationship with other entities (people, animals, social groups). It is a radical gesture of courage in times of extreme individualism and intolerance.

Opis:
Software for modeling and simulation (MSS) of mechanical systems helps to reduce production costs for industry. Usually, such software relies on (possibly erroneous) finite precision arithmetic and does not take into account uncertainty in the input data. The program SMARTMOBILE enhances the existing MSS MOBILE with verified techniques to provide a guarantee that the obtained results are correct and measure the influence of data uncertainty. In this paper, we outline the main features and functionalities of SMARTMOBILE. In particular, we focus on its use of newly developed methods for sensitivity analysis and DAE solving for several practically relevant mechanical systems.
