    Opis:
    Safety is a key and necessary condition for the sustainable development of the railway industry. Every entity operating in the railway area should maintain and increase the level of security as part of its operations. The subject of the analysis of data on the rail transport safety in European countries and content of the safety culture program implemented in Poland, whose main objective is to implement safety culture principles in the railway transport and to encourage all companies operating in the railway industry to improve the rail transport safety as the key condition for the sustainable development of railway industry. Paper contains results of the analysis of the European rail transport safety level in the context of the objectives set for Poland indicated by the European Union (CSI value) as improvement areas.

    Opis:
    W artykule przedstawiona została rola i znaczenie czynnika ludzkiego w analizie zdarzeń kolejowych w oparciu o wymagania dyrektywy w sprawie bezpieczeństwa kolei. Przedstawione zostały zasady analizy przyczyn zdarzeń kolejowych wraz z przykładowymi błędami popełnianymi w trakcie ich ustalania. Opisano zasady formułowania wniosków zapobiegawczych wraz z przykładami popełnionych przez komisje kolejowe błędów. Wskazano kompetencje jakie powinny posiadać osoby odpowiedzialne za opracowywanie dokumentacji dochodzeniowej, w tym określające przyczyny zdarzeń oraz wnioski zapobiegawcze na poziomie krajowym oraz na poziomie zarządców infrastruktury i przedsiębiorstw kolejowych. W podsumowaniu wskazano wnioski dotyczące kwalifikacji osób badających zdarzenia kolejowe oraz postulaty służące poprawie procesu analizy zdarzeń kolejowych.
    The article presents the role and importance of the human factor in the analysis of railway events based on the requirements of the Directive on railway safety. The principles of analyzing the causes of railway events were presented along with examples of errors made during their determination. The rules for formulating preventive conclusions were described along with examples of mistakes made by railway commissions. The competences that persons responsible for developing the investigation documentation should have, including the reasons for the events and preventive conclusions at the national level and at the level of infrastructure managersand railway undertakings should be indicated. The summary indicates the conclusions regarding the qualifications of persons investigating railway events and postulates aimed at improving the process of analyzing railway events.

    High demands on the aesthetics of the final product as well as sophisticated packaging shapes make the labeling process an operation that requires more and more precision and quality of workmanship. The quality of the labeling process is influenced mainly by the technology used, i.e. machinery and equipment, the knowledge, skills, and experience of operators, organization and working methods used, and by aspects related to proper maintenance. This article is a case study on the analysis and evaluation of the technology used in the process of labeling glass packaging and its impact on quality and work safety. The article aims to answer the question: does the labeling machine used by the surveyed company, due to the current portfolio of modernity of its parts and subassemblies, guarantee the realization of the labeling process at a high quality level and work safety. The article discusses in depth the factors influencing the quality of the process of labeling glass packaging in the studied company, paying attention to the issues related to the applied technology. ABC technology method was used to assess technology level and also indirectly safety level and Ishikawa diagram, L shape matrix diagram and affinity diagram to analyze and improve quality level. The article ends with a list of specific improvement actions to be taken to achieve the ultimate goal of managing the technology of glass packaging labeling - high quality of the final product resulting from the labeling process.

    The authors of this article analyse and propose improvement of safety and health at work in the transshipment terminal of a logistics company. The character of the place means that workers are exposed to constant overload of their musculoskeletal system, which is defined in the process of transporting the cargo of considerable weight. After analysing changes in the conditions of safety and health at work on selected positions were proposed. Qualitative research using the observation method, as well as the quantitative approach after changes in working conditions show the change of attitudes of employees to their work and higher performance. After a year of the proposed changes, a decision was made to introduce them also into external companies and for employees working in the cargo transshipment terminal.
