    Opis:
    Based on the Silicon Valley experience, a definition of innovation and its specific nature as related to construction engineering is presented. The roots of building innovation, significance of innovation in construction, and assessment of risk related to the introduction of innovation in construction are discussed. The virtually unlimited potential of IT tools is highlighted; the BIM is presented as an integrator of technical knowledge, project management, and multi-dimensional digital modelling of the design and construction process. The goal of sustainable development remains superior to all other than life-safety and functionality requirements. The quest for scientific and technical excellence in construction is a complex process requiring new ways of delivering the university curriculum. Examples of contemporary construction engineering innovations are presented, with the emphasis on the need for bold adaptations of innovative concepts. lt is hard to say which of the experiments will in the future be adopted as standards and which will be remembered as attempts at originality? Regardless, construction engineering has been innovative and is doomed to continue to be innovative.

    The environmental and social aspects are becoming increasingly important for enterprises. A very important matter is also achieving the high level of innovation for gaining competitive advantage. The way to reconcile these aspirations seems to be a development path called sustainable innovation. The aim of the article is to identify the concept of sustainable innovation in the context of modern enterprises and to propose the method of supporting it using an algorithmic approach.

    The goal of this study is to provide insights on implementing sustainability into corporate innovation activity. Firstly the idea of transferring sustainable development into microeconomic perspective is presented. The above concept is launched in business world through corporate social responsibility and eco-innovations. The most advanced innovators introduce sustainable oriented innovations (SOI) which covers not only economic aspects but social and ecological as well. The practical implementation of above ideas is hampered by several barriers which are identified through review of literature. Using extensive data of IBEX 35 firms covering the years 2010-2013 only 5 companies were selected as these which implemented sustainable oriented innovations. Later, profound analysis of its’ SOI including its’ economic, social and ecological impact is provided. In conclusion – practical implementation of SOI have undisputable benefits for company, society and natural environment.

    Innovation in construction is presented as a necessary aspect in the answer that the construction industry must provide to solve its negative impact on the environment. Original and innovative research is only part of the work to be accomplished. More important is the implementation of innovation in practice, where traditions are strongly rooted in society, and safety and long term reliability are required. Lessons from nature and study of durable examples handed down from the pasts serve as guidelines to innovative approaches that contribute to sustainability.

    This paper refers to the link between innovation and CSR, which is a bi-directional system of innovation-driven CSR and CSR-driven innovation. The main assumption in this paper is that there can be a virtuous circle of innovation and CSR created, where, on one hand, the enterprises are driven by value, but on the other hand, they are driven by the search for values. In this paper the author shortly defines innovation and CSR, then shows two ways of dependence between innovation and CSR, and then finally, shows the idea of virtuous circle of innovation and CSR.
    Artykuł poświęcony jest związkowi pomiędzy innowacjami a społeczną odpowiedzialnością biznesu, która przejawia się w dwukierunkowym systemie innowacji napędzanych przez CSR oraz społecznej odpowiedzialności biznesu napędzanej przez innowacje. Głównym założeniem artykułu jest to, że możliwy jest efekt spirali innowacji i CSR, gdzie z jednej strony przedsiębiorstwa będą napędzane przez wartości, z drugiej zaś przez poszukiwanie wartości. W artykule autor krótko definiuje innowację i CSR, następnie wskazuje zależności pomiędzy nimi, na końcu zaś prezentuje ideę efektu spirali innowacji i CSR.

    This research aims to observe the digital transformation model of the relationship between transformational performance (TP) that linked towards sustainability to innovate and build business models. The current business model innovation generally fails to sufficiently embrace the sustainability dimension, especially in relation with organization agility and customer experience orientation. This paper assesses the relationship TP with business model innovation (BMI), organizational agility (OA), operational efficiency (OE), and customer experience orientation (CEO) in the Indonesian ICT Industry toward sustainability development. The study used purposive sampling using sample of 195 out of a population of 542. The collected data was then analyzed using Smart PLS. Findings of the study shows that OA has directly influence to TP while CEO and OA, has an indirect significant influence on TP through BMI, but OE has no direct and indirect influence on TP. Findings of the study has implications on strengthening the transformation model based on OA and CEO toward sustainability development, while OE is found as critical part in developing BMI.
    Artykuł ten jest poświęcony obserwacji modelu transformacji cyfrowej i jego związku między wydajnością transformacyjną (TP), która łączy się ze zrównoważonym rozwojem w zakresie innowacji i budowy modeli biznesowych. Obecne innowacje w modelu biznesowym na ogół nie uwzględniają w wystarczającym stopniu wymiaru zrównoważonego rozwoju, szczególnie w odniesieniu do sprawności organizacji i orientacji na doświadczenie klienta. Niniejszy dokument ocenia związek TP z innowacjami w modelu biznesowym (BMI), sprawnością organizacyjną (OA), wydajnością operacyjną (OE) i orientacją na doświadczenie klienta (CEO) w indonezyjskim przemyśle ICT w kierunku rozwoju zrównoważonego rozwoju. W badaniu wykorzystano celowe pobieranie próbek z wykorzystaniem próby 195 z populacji 542. Zebrane dane następnie przeanalizowano przy użyciu Smart PLS. Wyniki badania pokazują, że OA ma bezpośredni wpływ na TP, podczas gdy CEO i OA, mają pośredni znaczący wpływ na TP poprzez BMI, ale OE nie ma bezpośredniego i pośredniego wpływu na TP. Wyniki badania mają wpływ na wzmocnienie modelu transformacji opartego na OA i CEO w kierunku rozwoju zrównoważonego rozwoju, podczas gdy OE jest kluczowym elementem w opracowywaniu BMI.
