In previous works the research team submitted [1-5] a series of numerical analysis of the car - road barrier dynamical system, directed to the elaboration of the numerical model methodology of an impact problem with the use of the chosen CAE programs. In this article there are presented the results of works on numerical implementation of crash tests of a car with the modified road barrier. The results are presented on the example of the Suzuki Swift car impact into the road barrier, which is equipped with the additional protective panel. The panel consists of the foamed aluminium plate whose fastening to the belt of the W-beam guardrail and a shield presented itself a thin-walled open profile made from the polyester-glass laminate. The whole construction was connected with the W-beam guardrail by riveting. The Geo Metro (Suzuki Swift) car, commonly available model from National Crash Analysis Centre (NCAC), was used for numerical analysis of the car-barrier system. Numerical analysis was carried out with the use of LS-Dyna system. The comparison of the time courses of acceleration, acting on the vehicle centre of gravity and the ways of the barrier and car deformation, achieved by the experimental and simulation ways, took place. The good qualitative and quantitative conformities in accelerations w archieved.

In this article experimental results of a car impact into a modified road barrier are presented. For crash tests a modified protection barrier SP-04, composed of guide poles, type B, and bridge posts IPE140, was chosen. The road barrier modification lies in using additional panels absorbing the impact energy. The protective panels, subjected to examination, consisted of a metal or a composite (laminate, glass-polyester) shield in which the f o amed aluminium or polyurethane foam was a filling. The Suzuki Swift car s were prepared for the crash tests. Tests were carried out at the Automotive Industry Institute (PIMOT) in Warsaw, with the use o f a test sample of the road barrier. For the safety sake the car's speed during the experimental examinations was limited to 50 km/h. Moreover, the vehicle hits perpendicularly in a properly modified road barrier's sector. During the test a registration of acceleration was carried out by the acceleration sensors placed in the car (among others in the centre of gravity and over the rear axle of a car). A crash test course of the system C-G was registered with the use of two cameras for fast shooting (Fantom v12). An image was recorded with the resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels and with frequency of 1000 shots per second. The shot exposure time equalled to 250 microseconds.

The article presents the results of road tests of the passenger car. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of variations in the vehicle braking methods on the carbon dioxide emissions. Inhibited using the gear ratios increase – less gear and using motion resistance while driving a rundown, in addition to using the brake system in the final stages of journeys made. The use of engine braking by drivers as a result of the reduction gear, for example during transport to the intersection, traffic light, railroad crossing, in place of the drive by coasting is particularly emphasized by the promoters of eco-driving. It is raised the issue of avoiding unproductive, from the viewpoint of the work efficiency of the engine, the engine idle speed. The verification of environmental aspects of the use of engine braking was made because of the testing under real traffic conditions. Test drives were carried out at the measuring section, free from traffic. The test vehicle accelerates to a speed of 50 km/h, and then two ways of the speed deceleration were used. The values of the concentration of harmful carbon dioxide in the exhaust gases were achieved by using a mobile apparatus for testing exhaust emissions.

In this paper the author addresses the issue of road transport in the context of its environmental impact. The article discusses the issue of air pollution from motor vehicle emissions and various methods of tackling this problem. The first section provides an overview of the most important data related to air pollution caused by road transport and the main EU regulations concerning vehicle emission standards. The second section of the article is devoted to barriers that hinder the growth of the hybrid and electric vehicle market. This analysis is carried out on the basis of the vehicle market conditions in Poland.

The new passenger car, BMW 225 XE was tested. The results of measurements of concentration of VOCs carried out inside the car cabin depending on the temperature were presented. The investigation was carried out in a special climatic chamber isolated from external factors such as outside air pollutants and weather conditions. The following temperature values have been set: 17ºC, 20ºC, 35ºC and 50ºC. The samples were located inside and outside of the vehicle’s cabin. As expected, the concentrations of each compound increased with increasing temperature (volatility of VOCs increases with the temperature). Values of concentrations obtained in the measurements have been compared with the values of highest acceptable concentration specified in polish law. The article describes the investigation, which was provided in a special climatic chamber. The chamber was isolated from external weather conditions and pollutants. Before each sampling interior of car cabin was ventilated to remove all pollutants from inside. Concentrations of BTX measured in different temperatures were converted to temperature of 20ºC.

Nowadays, with the current dynamic development of the automotive industry, we spend more and more time indoors, including in vehicles. The air used for ventilation of the vehicle's cabin comes from the outside. Pollution enters into the vehicle. This research presents the results of tests conducted to assess the exposure of the driver and passengers to volatile organic compounds entering the vehicle with atmospheric air. The simulation researches were conducted on a chassis dynamometer at the Department of Vehicle Engineering at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering Technical University of Wroclaw and the tests under real conditions, i.e. traffic urban conditions, were taken as well. The measurements were conducted in the centre of Wroclaw during peak hours, when the traffic jam is the most frequent. The measurements were taken in order to organic compounds analysis, which includes gas chromatography. The analysis results were averaged from three measurements to get these studies more reliable. Results show that during mobile tests the vehicle was exposed to much more pollution than in the stationary tests in the simulated conditions of traffic congestion. Therefore, the studies present that the pollution in the traffic congestion is the real danger to drivers.

The article attempts to perform a concise analysis of the impact of toxic emissions from internal combustion engines used in road transport to the rapidly deteriorating physicochemical state of the atmosphere. Apart from the problems associated with air pollution and the environment at the stage of extraction, transport and processing of liquid and gaseous hydrocarbon fossil fuels, the biggest problem associated is with the mass poisoning of the atmosphere by the products coming out from the exhaust pipes of all (land, sea and air) means of transportation. These include first and foremost: oxides of nitrogen, carbon, sulfur and unburned hydrocarbons (and lead compounds, which until recently were widely used in the production of fuels). In many of the published results of the studies it was showed that they threaten the health and even the life of man. It is estimated that in the US in 2013 approximately 53,000 people died due to the negative effects exhaust gas have on the human body. These substances not only pollute the air we breathe, but also contribute to the creation of so-called acid rain, which threaten the flora and fauna all over the Earth. Moreover, they significantly affect the acceleration of the greenhouse effect. The second chapter presents in what way the car transport negatively influences the state of the atmosphere with particular emphasis on fast growing greenhouse effect, caused by the increase of carbon dioxide in the upper atmosphere. The third chapter is the analysis of problems related to the reduction of exhaust emissions from motor vehicles. It shows that it is impossible to limit these emissions, because combustion engines are highly inefficient: carrying the driver with a passenger and light luggage (for a total of about 140 kg) consumes less than 1% of the energy contained in the fuel. This translates into unproductive combustion of large quantities of fuel and consequently the emission of enormous quantities of harmful exhaust emissions. In the fourth chapter an attempt was made to answer the question: as far as protection of atmosphere is concerned, can the electric car be an effective remedy for the hazardous products of combustion? The answer is positive, because electric motors are practically emission-free and in superior to heat engines in that they are three times more effective in converting electrical energy into mechanical one. However, the main problem may consist in the necessity of universal and quite rapid transition to production of electricity from carbon-free renewable energy sources: wind, water, sun. The fifth chapter presents the results obtained by a team of researchers from Stanford University who attempted to create an alternative to the traditional system of electricity generation consisting in the burning fuels in thermal power plants. This alternative is WWS, an emission-free system based on the usage of the energy contained in wind, flowing water, and solar radiation. The presented data show it is possible to achieve global transition to WWs system within the next 30-50 years. In the sixth chapter we review the state of development in the area of electric cars production in the world. Emerging solutions and a lot of interest from potential buyers give positive feelings. If we realize the idea of creating a network of stations for automatic battery exchange (Tesla Motors has presented a solution for such exchange within 90 seconds), at a price of exchange not exceeding prices of refueling an internal combustion engine vehicle, with enough fuel enabling traversing the comparable distance, then the last barrier to widespread implementation of road based transport with electric drive will practically disappear.

W ramach tego zagadnienia w sposób syntetyczny przedstawiono: klasyfikację ładunków ponadgabarytowych, uwarunkowania prawne w transporcie tych ładunków, planowanie trasy przewozu ładunków ponadgabarytowych, uwarunkowania logistyczne transportu tego typu ładunków. W końcowej części artykułu przedstawiono analizę przypadku transportu ładunku ponadnormatywnego jako zobrazowanie zagadnień podjętych we wcześniejszych punk-tach. Artykuł kończy podsumowanie podkreślające stopień skomplikowania transportu ładunków ponadgabarytowych.
In the article the subject matter concerning outsized loads was taken under consideration. In the framework of this subject in synthetic way were presented: classification of outsized loads, law circumstances of these loads transport, planning of route of outsized loads transport, logistic circumstances of transport of these loads. In the last part of the article presented case analysis of outsized load transport as the performance of topics described in the previous parts of the article. The article is finished by summary emphasizing as complicated is transport of outsized loads.

The problem of the automobile course stability is considered. The change of the car steerability based on the analysis of non linear bicycl model is analyzed. Generalized dependence determining “the steerability curve” is obtained. Conditions which caused the loss of stability with increasing speed while moving within the constant radius circle regarding the bifurcation set are analyzed.
Рассматриваются проблемы курсовой устойчивости движения автомобиля. В работе анализируется смена свойств управляемости на основе анализа нелинейной велосипедной модели, которая учитывает не линейность сил бокового увода. Получена обобщенная зависимость, определяющая «кривую управляемости». Проанализированы условия потери устойчивости для случая движения с возрастающей скоростью по окружности постоянного радиуса на основе построения бифуркацио нного множества.

The total emission level is heavily dependent on the number of vehicles. Additionally, the type of vehicles and their age structures are very important. The structure of vehicles also depends on the type of the road. The article presents the results of calculations of the pollutants emission from the road transport. Total emission was calculated with combination of the investigation results i.e. the type of vehicles and their age structures for different types of roads. The investigations have been made for different classes of roads with different types of vehicles. The traffic line has been recorded in the same length of time. On the basis of analysis of the recorded traffic line, the number and the type of vehicles have been estimated. The classification of vehicles have been made according to the level of emission i.e. passenger cars, light duty vehicles, heavy duty vehicles, busses and others, taking into consideration the age structures of vehicles. The level of total traffic emission has been calculated on the basis of results. There has been used the Copert programme methodology. The results of the calculations have been made with combination of the type of road, the speed of vehicles, the type of vehicles and their age structure, are presented.
Poziom emisji zanieczyszczeń zależy przede wszystkim od liczby pojazdów poruszających się po drodze. Dodatkowo istotne są struktury rodzajowa oraz wiekowa pojazdów. Struktura pojazdów zależy natomiast w dużym stopniu od rodzaju drogi. W pracy przedstawiono wyniki obliczeń poziomu emisji wybranych składników spalin emitowanych w ruchu drogowym. Obliczenia zostały przeprowadzone z uwzględnieniem wyników badań struktur rodzajowej i wiekowej pojazdów dla różnych typów dróg. Badania strumienia pojazdów wykonano na drogach różnej kategorii, przy różnej strukturze pojazdów. Rejestrowano strumień pojazdów w określonych odcinkach czasowych. Na podstawie analizy obrazu zarejestrowanego strumienia określono liczbę i rodzaj pojazdów. Pojazdy podzielono na kategorie według poziomu emisji, tj. samochody osobowe, samochody dostawcze, ciężarowe, autobusy i inne, uwzględniając strukturę wiekową. Na podstawie uzyskanych wyników oszacowano poziom emisji szkodliwych składników spalin. Obliczenia zostały wykonane za pomocą metodyki przyjętej w programie Copert. Przedstawiono wyniki szacunkowego poziomu emisji spalin w zależności rodzaju drogi, prędkości jazdy, struktur wiekowej i rodzajowej pojazdów.

Power of any kind of a car engine is considered to be one of the basic factors in order to choose or assess vehicles equipment or its appropriateness. It influences several operation properties including car maximum velocity, car acceleration, etc. A car producer shall issue the data about an engine power of a car in a form of its technical attributes, nevertheless an engine power specification is also stated in a car registration certificate. Engine power may be defined as the maximum engine output at given revolutions of an engine, i.e. maximum engine power. In most of cases of cars operation, various situations may occur in order to specify the maximum engine power value. This study addresses the issue of determining individual factors affecting the engine power while a passenger car in operation, i.e. testing the engine power on the single roller bench and related particular analysis.

Zwrócono uwagę na znaczenie procesów transportowych dla gospodarki oraz konieczność zapewnienia ich bezpieczeństwa. W artykule pokazano znaczenie różnych gałęzi transportu, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem przewozów samochodowych oraz próbowano ocenić miejsce polskich firm transportowych na tle unijnej konkurencji.
Efficient transport is necessary for the economic development of the country and the free flow of goods in the global process. It also affects the development of entrepreneurship in the field of transport services offered by transport entities on European markets. The article presents the problems related to the carriage of cargo within the European Union. Attention is paid to the importance of transport processes for the economy and the need to ensure their safety. The article shows the importance of various modes of transport, with particular emphasis on road transport and tried to assess the position of Polish transport companies against the background of EU competition.

In the global economy, modern information and communication technologies are an important factor responsible for the transfer of information in the logistic chains.
