    The research dedicated to risk management issues in the energy sector addresses current problems associated with risk management that arise in the energy sector. The aim of the study was to identify factors that affect risks, analyze scientific risk management methods, and consider innovative approaches to risk management in the energy sector. The study used a critical analysis of the literature on the subject as well as an analysis of risk management standards and methods. The innovation of the research lies in its consideration of modern trends in risk management in the energy sector, taking into account changing economic and political conditions, technical possibilities, as well as social attitudes and demands. The study showed that the most effective approach to risk management in the energy sector is the use of an integrated risk management system that takes into account all aspects of enterprise activity. The results of the study can be useful for energy companies that deal with risk management. They can be used to improve risk management strategies and reduce the possibility of negative consequences. In addition, this research can be used for educational purposes for students and professors who study risk management and the energy sector. The next steps of the research may include expanding the scope of the study to other areas and developing more detailed risk management models.

    Agile methods for project management are often treated as methods for mitigating risk. However, there is disagreement as to whether explicit methods of risk management should be used in projects which are executed according to Agile methodology or is the implicit risk management built into Agile methodologies sufficient. To contribute to the discussion, an attempt has been made to identify risks that are either caused by the introduction of an Agile methodology to a project or become more significant when such methodology is in use. If such risks exist, this would be evidence that explicit risk management is required, even in the case of Agile methodologies. The results of this research may be useful for any organization that is in the process of selecting a methodology for project management and is considering Agile methodologies.

    Risk management requires quantification of threats in terms of the probability of the threat occurring, and consequences resulting from the critical occurrences. The greatest threat is posed by the events with a high probability and at least major consequences, as well as events with considerable consequences and at least major probability. In this context, risk management involves undertaking steps aimed at lowering the probability of threatening occurrences and/or minimisation of potential consequences. In the case of risk management related to HV grid development, the most important threat is grid overloads.
    Zarządzanie ryzykiem wymaga kwantyfikacji zagrożeń w kategoriach prawdopodobieństwa wystąpienia przyczyn zagrożenia oraz konsekwencji wynikających z zaistnienia krytycznych zdarzeń. Największe zagrożenie stwarzają zdarzenia o dużym prawdopodobieństwie i co najmniej znacznych skutkach oraz zdarzenia o dużych konsekwencjach i co najmniej znacznym prawdopodobieństwie. W tym kontekście zarządzanie ryzykiem polega na podejmowaniu działań mających na celu obniżenie prawdopodobieństwa wystąpienia przyczyn powodujących zagrożenia i/lub minimalizację skutków wystąpienia zagrożeń. W przypadku zarządzania ryzykiem związanym z planowaniem rozwoju sieci WN podstawowym zagrożeniem są przeciążenia sieci.

    W artykule autorki przedstawiły propozycję zastosowania modelu romboidalnego (NTCP) w zarządzaniu ryzykiem projektów badawczo-rozwojowych (B+R). Model ten za pomocą wymiarów: innowacyjności (N), technologii (T), złożoności (C) oraz tempa realizacji (P) opisuje cechy danego projektu. Na podstawie analizy literatury stwierdzono, że projekty B+R często na początku ich realizacji nie posiadają znanych w pełni elementów niezbędnych do stworzenia planu projektu, np. określonych struktur podziału (PBS, WBS, OBS). Jednocześnie wysunięto wniosek, że charakterystyka ich rynku jest zbliżona do projektów realizowanych na rynku typu firma – państwo (B2G), a ich cechy podobne są do cech zarówno projektów branży farmaceutycznej, jak i IT. Tym samym najistotniejszymi wymiarami modelu romboidalnego czystej postaci w projektach B+R okazały się: wymiar innowacyjności oraz wymiar technologii. Autorki wybrały te elementy wymiarów, które najlepiej charakteryzowały projekty B+R i na ich podstawie zdefiniowały model romboidalny dostosowany do specyfiki tych projektów. Określony w ten sposób model romboidalny pozwala na szacowanie ryzyka związanego z poszczególnymi wymiarami projektu oraz na monitorowanie jego zmian wraz z realizacją kolejnych etapów projektu.
    In this paper the authors present a proposal for the application of the rhomboidal model (NTCP) to risk management of research and development (R&D) projects. The NTCP model describes the characteristics of the project using several dimensions: novelty, technology, complexity and pace. Based on the analysis of literature, it was noticed that at the beginning of their implementation, R&D projects did not often have fully known elements necessary to create a project plan, for instance specific breakdown structures (PBS, WBS or OBS). At the same time, it was concluded that the characteristics of their market are close to those of the market of business government (B2G) projects and their features are similar to the features of projects of the pharmaceutical industry as well as IT. Thus, the most important dimensions of the pure rhomboidal model of R&D projects are innovation and technology. The authors chose those components of the dimensions that best characterize R&D projects and basing on that they defined the rhomboidal model adapted to the specificity of R&D projects. The rhomboidal model defined in this way allows one to estimate risks associated with the various dimensions of the project and to monitor the changes which often occur during R&D project implementation.

    Zarządzanie ryzykiem wymaga kwantyfikacji zagrożeń w kategoriach prawdopodobieństwa wystąpienia przyczyn zagrożenia, oraz konsekwencji wynikających z zaistnienia krytycznych zdarzeń. W przypadku zarządzania ryzykiem związanym z planowaniem rozwoju sieci WN, podstawowym zagrożeniem są przeciążenia sieci. Planowanie rozwoju sieci ma za zadanie między innymi zagwarantowanie niezawodności i minimalizację kosztów dostaw energii. Realizacja tych dwóch sprzecznych funkcji celu wymaga optymalizacji alokacji środków inwestycyjnych.
    Risk management needs to be quantified in terms of probability of events causes threads, and the consequences of the occurrence of critical events. The greatest threats are caused by events of a high probability and at least significant consequences, and events with very serious consequences, and at least a significant probability. In this context, risk management is to take actions to reduce probability of the events causing the threat or minimize the effects of hazards. Managing the risks associated with high-voltage grid development planning, the primary threat is network congestion. Network development planning aims, i.a., ensuring reliability and minimizing the cost of energy supply. The implementation of these trade off pose to optimize the allocation of investment expenditures. Maintaining the reliability of the network in the future, with the increase in demand and power of connected renewable energy sources, can be realized alternatively based on: °minimize the effects of threats through planning the network reinforcement. ° minimize probability of critical events while planning and operating the future system by identifying and avoiding risks.

    Aim: Provide a summary of the expressed views, presentations and discussions during the ISINI14 (2020) online conference. Design: Next to rather traditional but this time online presentations, the discussions not only took place by way of oral communication, but also via an online tool. The administrators of the conference prepared in a word-processing programme a framework, where the participants could enter issues, questions and comments in real time, and react to each others writings. These issues, questions and comments were also discussed orally. The results of the exchange of new ideas are presented below, and should provide an impulse for further discussion at  ISINI online meetings in the future. Findings: In order to achieve sustainable development, protect democratic values and empower citizens in different countries with a different institutional setting, a sound balance between open markets and sound regulation should be struck at various levels. Global and regional (EU) cooperationis needed for solving challenges to sustainable development – e.g. in relation to unexpected events such as the COVID-19 pandemic and  climate (change) as a kind of public good.     Assessment and management of risk constitute the subject of many researches. Nevertheless, many more specific factors are applicable during the implementation of innovative technological projects. On the article identified risk factors, which have been supplemented, systematized and assigned to the individual risk categories. The risk assessment methods for R&D projects have been analysed, as well as the risk sheets have been developed for the R&D project through the use of dotProject application. Also shown that networking and clustering is a change for fruitful cooperation within difference EU projects, which create trust between business and sciences and reduce the risk.
