Artykuł dotyczy zarządzania ryzykiem w szeroko pojętych organizacjach. W syntetycznym ujęciu przedstawiono proces zarządzania ryzykiem oraz jego najpowszechniejsze metody. W podsumowaniu zarysowano pozytywne skutki prowadzenia przez organizacje procesu zarządzania ryzykiem oraz problemy związane z jego wdrożeniem w praktyce.

Nuclear power plants benefit from a sophisticated and comprehensive safety regime that has been established over the years. However, the security regime for nuclear power plants is far less developed than the safety regime. Although adopting (and adapting) certain elements of the nuclear safety regime could significantly strengthen the nuclear security regime, at least four challenges are likely to surface: national sovereignty, information transparency, lack of policy consensus, and challenges of regime harmonization. Seek an optimal balance between mandatory international standards and voluntary actions and endorse consideration of additional binding and non-binding international safety and security requirements.

In response to the corona virus, governments are making significant interventions to stabilize the economy, and companies are adapting rapidly to the changing needs of their employees, customers, and suppliers. Business activities are slowing down and the consequences of coronavirus cannot be predicted. However, one positive thing caused by the COVID-19 crisis is that businesses are forced to innovate and analyze ways of doing business. Therefore, the main goal of this paper was to determine how to transform new business models that will enable the creation of new values for businesses, customers and society as a whole after the global pandemic caused by the COVID-19 virus. The research was based on qualitative data collected by analysis of relevant content. The results of the research show that the characteristics of business models will be more flexible (remote workforce planning, flexible contracts with customers and suppliers, new employment policy), focused on planning procedures for risk mitigation and crisis response, and IT infrastructure will be safer, as well as the protection and safety of people. After the COVID-19 crisis, the business world will look different. Initially, it will appear chaotic, but the history shows that markets and society are getting better and stronger after the global crises.
U odgovoru na korona virus, vlade zemalja poduzimaju značajne intervencije u stabiliziranju gospodarstva, a poduzeća se pokušavaju prilagoditi promjenjivim potrebama svojih zaposlenika, kupaca i dobavljača. Poslovne aktivnosti se usporavaju i ne mogu se predvidjeti posljedice korona virusa. Međutim, jedna pozitivna stvar uzrokovana COVID-19 krizom je da su poslovni subjekti prisiljeni inovirati i analizirati načine poslovanja. Stoga je glavni cilj istraživanja bio utvrditi kako transformirati poslovne modele koji će omogućiti kreiranje novih vrijednosti za poslovne subjekte, kupce i društvo u cjelini nakon globalne pandemije uzrokovane virusom COVID-19. Istraživanje se temeljilo na kvalitativnim podacima prikupljenim analizom relevantnih sadržaja. Rezultati istraživanja pokazuju da će karakteristike poslovnih modela biti više fleksibilne (planiranje radne snage za rad na daljinu, fleksibilni ugovori s kupcima i dobavljačima, nova politika zapošljavanja), usmjerene na planiranje postupaka za ograničenje rizika i reakcija na krizne situacije, te će IT infrastruktura biti sigurnija, kao i zaštita i sigurnost ljudi. Nakon COVID-19 krize poslovni svijet će izgledati drugačije. U početku kaotično, no povijest pokazuje da tržišta i društvo postaju bolja i jača nakon globalnih kriza.

Opis:
Environmental risk assessment is one of the key tools in environmental engineering. This risk assessment can be qualitative or quantitative and it is based on preliminary studies i.e., baseline study for waste disposal sites. Even though the literature exists on baseline study in general, still there is a lack of guidance regarding development of a site-specific baseline study model for a waste disposal site. This study has two-fold aim, firstly, how to develop site-specific baseline study model for a selected dumping site, and secondly, how this site-specific baseline study can support the environmental engineering via mathematical risk estimation. Mahmood Booti Open Dumping Site (MBODS) is selected to demonstrate the development and application of site-specific baseline study model. This is followed by building a framework that shows how the output of the baseline study can lead to environmental engineering via mathematical risk estimation. The paper provides a mechanism of how to construct a bespoke baseline-study model that is readily useable, avoiding procurement of expensive computer software and yet smoothly connecting with the follow-on stages of the risk assessment. The work presented in this paper can be reproduced repeatedly to create site-specific baseline study models for risk assessment of other waste disposal sites in a cost-effective, consistent and cohesive manner.

Opis:
Oil and gas industry processes are associated with significant expenditures and risks. Adequacy of the decisions on safety measures made during early stages of planning the facilities and processes contributes to avoiding technological incidents and corresponding losses. Formulating straightforward requirements for safety instrumented systems that are followed further during the detailed engineering design and operations is proposed, and a mathematical model for safety system design is introduced in a generalized form. The model aims to reflect the divergent perspectives of the main parties involved in oil and gas projects, and, therefore, it is formulated as a multi-objective problem. Application of black box optimization is suggested for solving real-life problem instances. A Markov model is applied to account for device failures, technological incidents, continuous restorations and periodic maintenance for a given process and safety system configuration. This research is relevant to engineering departments and contractors, who specialize in planning and designing the technological solution.
