    The article Directions of research of the Department of Christian Pedagogy of KUL is a presentation of the research conducted by the staff of the Department of Pedagogy. It consists of three parts. The first will be presentation the subject of research in Christian pedagogy and the circumstances of the founding of the Cathedral; in the second will be presented research direction run by employees of Department; in the third the dissemination of research results will be presented.

    The goal of this article is to present the scientific output of the Institute of Socio-Economic Geography and Spatial Management of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań in the field of spatial management. It was put into four problem groups: 1. Institutional-organisational determinants of the research. 2. Research problems, major research projects and international co-operation. 3. Application-related aspect of the research. 4. Integration of the research, didactics and practice. Special attention is paid to the research fields best developed in the Poznań centre, i.e. the theoretical and methodological foundations of spatial management, problems in regional and local development, cities and metropolitan areas, and rural development. Also presented are major research projects, including international ones (ACRE, STAREBEI, COMMIN+, CIRES, and RURACTION). Selected examples are used to highlight the synergy effect resulting from the integration of the research, didactics and practice.

    Purpose: The dynamic economic changes in recent years have made the principles of sustainable development gain more and more importance and there is a great need to maintain a balance in the social, environmental, and economic dimensions. This has also been observed in project management, whereby the concept of sustainable project management plays an important role in both practice and science. In recent years, there has been a significant increase in scientific publications on the concept of sustainable project management. The article presents the assumptions of sustainability in a project and the identification of research directions in this area. The study aims to present the results of the literature review and answer the two research questions: which research areas related to sustainable project management dominate the literature and what are the further research directions in the field of sustainable project management? Design/methodology/approach: The study was conducted based on a literature review in the field of sustainable project management and sustainability in project management. Scientific articles indexed in the Scopus database, published before 2022, were used. A keyword analysis was carried out, on the basis of which subject areas related to sustainable project management were distinguished, and the most cited articles were reviewed to extract recommendations for the directions of future research. Findings: The literature review, taking into account sustainable project management, show that project lifecycle, project success, and risk management are dominated research topic in the articles. Further research directions suggested in the literature indicate, inter alia, to extend the scope of research on sustainable project management to different countries and sectors. Originality/value: The literature review is based on the most recent publications. Moreover, in addition to the traditional literature review, keywords were analyzed and other research directions were analyzed, which was rarely seen in publications that focused mainly on the synthesis of conclusions.

    In the introduction to this issue of Przegląd Socjologii Jakościowej, we undertake an attempt to characterize the contemporary field of the sociology of art in Poland. For the point of departure, we took four generations of the sociology of art as defined by Nathalie Heinich as well as the identification of the following four elements: an artwork and its reception, an artist and a creative process, an audience, and a social-institutional framework. We try to draw the timeline of this sub-discipline by means of indicating works of Stanisław Ossowski (the sociology of art sensu largo) and Florian Znaniecki (the sociology of artist) as its beginning in the country. We also define the unique status of art sociology in Poland as a sub-discipline of the sociology of culture, as well as its mutual relations with different sciences. We analyze the emergence of scientific communities and the appearance and disappearance of research specializations during the period of over 80 years. Additionally, we indicate missing pages as well as thematic fields and perspectives that are still developing. We are aware of the fact that it is difficult to exhaust the problem of the history and status of art sociology in Poland within one article, which is why our objective is, rather, to indicate problems, perspectives, and ideas that can begin the discussion on the topic.
    We wstępie do niniejszego wydania „Przeglądu Socjologii Jakościowej” podejmujemy próbę scharakteryzowania współczesnego pola socjologii sztuki w Polsce. Punkt wyjścia stanowią cztery generacje socjologii sztuki zdefiniowane przez Nathalie Heinich oraz identyfikacja czterech podstawowych elementów: dzieła sztuki oraz jego recepcji, artysty i procesu twórczego, odbiorców oraz ram społeczno-instytucjonalnych. Podejmujemy się próby zakreślenia ram czasowych subdyscypliny, wskazując jako jej początki w kraju prace Stanisława Ossowskiego (socjologia sztuki sensu largo), Floriana Znanieckiego (socjologia artysty). Definiujemy także specyficzny status socjologii sztuki w Polsce jako subdyscypliny socjologii kultury oraz jej wzajemne relacje z innymi naukami. Analizujemy wyodrębnianie się środowisk naukowych, pojawianie się i zanikanie specjalności badawczych w ciągu ponad 80 lat. Dodatkowo wskazujemy białe plamy oraz obszary tematyczne i perspektywy, które dopiero się rozwijają. Zdajemy sobie sprawę, że w ramach jednego tekstu trudno jest wyczerpać problem historii i statusu socjologii sztuki w Polsce, stąd naszym celem jest raczej wskazanie wątków, perspektyw i idei w celu rozpoczęcia dyskusji na ten temat.

    Artykuł przedstawia rozwiązania przyjęte i stosowane w Państwowej Straży Pożarnej (PSP), których celem jest zorganizowane i systemowe identyfikowanie i rozwiązywanie problemów wynikających z codziennej działalności jednostek organizacyjnych PSP oraz identyfikowaniem i zaspokajaniem potrzeb w zakresie strategicznego zarządzania służbą, definiowania kierunków rozwoju oraz odnawiania wizji funkcjonowania służby. Wykorzystanie projektów i programów naukowo-badawczych zostało przedstawione jako rekomendowane narzędzie do rozwiązywania problemów i zaspokajania ww. potrzeb PSP. Artykuł dzieli się na sześć zasadniczych części. W części pierwszej przedstawiono misję, wizję Państwowej Straży Pożarnej oraz wspomagającą funkcję badań naukowych, prac rozwojowych i innowacyjnych. Ponadto w tej części został przedstawiony ogólny zakres działania i odpowiedzialności Państwowej Straży Pożarnej z uwzględnieniem znaczenia sposobu budowania zespołów badawczych, także w kontekście rozwiązywania problemów interdyscyplinarnych, obejmujących działania różnych służb, a w konsekwencji także różnych jednostek badawczych. W kolejnej części artykułu została omówiona metodyka identyfikacji potrzeb i wytyczania kierunków naukowo-badawczych ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem roli Rady Naukowo-Technicznej przy Komendancie Głównym PSP (RNT KG PSP). Kolejne części artykułu obejmują opis czterech priorytetowych obszarów prac naukowo-badawczych zdefiniowanych na lata 2012 - 2020, a także omówienie organizacji zespołów naukowo-badawczych i sposób finansowania projektów i programów naukowo-badawczych realizowanych na potrzeby PSP. Zwraca się w nich również uwagę na potrzebę traktowania działalności badawczej jako elementu, który stanowi jeden z głównych punktów odniesienia w działalności poszczególnych komórek i pionów Państwowej Straży Pożarnej. Artykuł kończą wnioski sformułowane z myślą praktycznego ich zastosowania.
    The article presents solutions accepted and applying in State Fire Service (SFS) which are aimed at organized and systematic identification and solving of questions meet in everyday activities of SFS organizational units as well as identification and providing for the needs in scope of our service strategic management, defining of development directions and renewing vision of the organization function. Employment of scientific and research projects and programs is declared as recommended tool in scope of solving of above mentioned questions and providing for the listed needs of SFS. The paper is divided into six essential parts. In first part the mission and vision of State Fire Service are described as well as helping function scientific research, development and innovative work. Moreover, this part covers general presentation of State Fire Service activities with taking into consideration significance of research teams establishing process among others in context of solving of interdisciplinary questions involving different services and in consequence different research units. Second part of the paper is devoted to description of methods of needs identification and setting out directions of scientific and research work with role of Scientific and Technical Council appointed by Chief Commandant of State Fire Service. Next parts include discussion of four priority scientific and research work areas that have been defined for years 2012 - 2020 and moreover description of scientific and research teams organization and ways of gaining financial resources for discussed activities. Also, they include suggestions that research work should be treated as integral part of activities of particular units of State Fire Service. Finally, some practical conclusions are formulated.

    The history of Gdansk geography, understood as an academic field of study is relatively short, and dates back to the first half of the twentieth century. However, geographical conditions, location and development of the city on the Vistula, the Baltic Sea, on the coast of the Gulf of Gdansk, leave no doubt as to the need for a very good knowledge of the geography by its residents. In the seventeenth and eighteenth century Gdańsk has become one of the most important centers in the country of culture and science and the implementation of new inventions. Gdańsk, the city of merchants and sailors, is also one of the important centers of plotting maps and atlases issuance of geographical, natural and finally astronomical. First Gdansk Academic Gymnasium, then under the name of Gymnasium Dantiscanum was established relatively late, because only in 1558. The first preserved statute gymnasium provided taught history in conjunction with geography, which from the beginning placed the Gdansk Gymnasium in a row the most distinguished institutions for the development of many disciplines. The first lectures in geography, by Bartholomeus Keckermann, were released under the title of Systema geographicum duobus libris adornatum et audience olim praelectum in 1612. The famous Gdansk Nature Society has been founded in 1742. In one of the first volumes published by the Society can be found to develop Gotffried Reyger devoted to observations weather in the city, based on meteorological data collected from 1,721 years.|After the end of the Second World War, in 1946, two-year Pedagogium in Gdansk-Oliwa was founded section studies geography and natural sciences with the Department of Geography. A year later Pedagogium transformed into the Pedagogical University, which created the Faculty of Life Sciences section of bio-geographical, which conducted a two-way studies of the biology of geography. In 2010, the Institute of Geography moved to the university campus in Gdansk-Oliwa. In the structure of departments geography functioned until 2005, pursuant to the Resolution of the Senate re-created at the Faculty of Biology, Geography and Oceanology Institute of Geography.
    Celem artykułu jest ukazanie rozwoju i zmian w nauczaniu geografii na poziomie akademickim w wielokulturowym Gdańsku. Wprawdzie historia gdańskiej geografii, rozumianej jako kierunek studiów akademickich, jest stosunkowo krótka i sięga pierwszej połowy XX w., Gdańsk, miasto od samego swojego początku zamieszkane przez Polaków, Niemców i Kaszubów, kupców z miast hanzeatyckich, z Żuławami, zasiedlonymi przez Holendrów, z dzielnicą Stare Szkoty z jej szkockimi mieszkańcami, stał się miastem o zróżnicowanej strukturze etnicznej i wyznaniowej, która sprzyjała i chętnie przyjmowała nowinki naukowe, zwłaszcza przydatne w handlu i żegludze morskiej.

    Nowe technologie umożliwiły wykorzystanie mechanizmów gier nie do celów związanych z zabawą, ale głównie by motywować pracowników do efektywniejszej pracy, wywoływać u konsumentów chęć współtworzenia innowacyjnych produktów itp. Głównym celem poznawczym artykułu jest identyfikacja grywalizacji jako interdyscyplinarnej metody wykorzystywanej w różnych obszarach nauk społecznych i biznesu. Przedmiotem oceny były artykuły w periodykach naukowych publikowane w języku angielskim. Publikacje te pochodziły z baz: Scopus oraz Elsevier oraz Springer. We wskazanych bazach poszukiwano artykułów naukowych recenzowanych i publikowanych w latach 2016-2022. W artykule określono istotę grywalizacji zdefiniowaną między innymi przez Deterdinga, Hamari, Houtari oraz Harmana jako koncepcję pragmatyczną związaną z oczekiwaniami biznesu. Przedstawiono wybrane obszary zastosowań grywalizacji w biznesie, zarządzaniu i rachunkowości. Wskazano na rosnącą liczbę publikacji z zakresu nauk społecznych, nauk medycznych, głównie pielęgniarstwa, oraz edukacji. Z badań wynika, że zwiększa się zainteresowanie naukowców i praktyków grywalizacją (gamification). W literaturze przedmiotu w przeszłości dominowały publikacje z zakresu nauk komputerowych, a obecnie z nauk społecznych, pedagogicznych oraz medycznych. W analizowanej literaturze brak było badań odnoszących się do międzynarodowego wymiaru grywalizacji, nie uwzględnia się także różnic kulturowych, traktując uczestników grywalizacji jako obdarzonych tym samym zapleczem społecznym i kulturowym. Wskazać można na rozwój badań dotyczących edukacji i usług medycznych.
    New technologies have made it possible to use game mechanics for purposes other than fun, but mainly to motivate employees to work more efficiently, consumers willing to co-create innovative products, etc. The main research objective of the article is to identify gamification as an interdisciplinary method used in different areas of social sciences and business. The subjects of the evaluation were articles in scientific journals published in English. These publications were retrieved from the databases: Scopus and Elsevier and Springer Line. The indicated databases were searched for scientific, peer-reviewed articles published between 2016 and 2022. The article defines the essence of gamification, defined by Detering, Hamari, Houtari and Harman, among others, as a pragmatic concept related to business expectations. Selected areas of application of gamification in business, management and accounting are presented. The growing number of publications in the social sciences, health sciences, mainly nursing, and education is indicated. The study found that there is a growing interest among researchers and practitioners in gamification. In the past, the literature was dominated by publications in the computer sciences and now in the social sciences, education sciences and health sciences. There has been a lack of research in the literature on the international dimension of gamification, and cultural differences are not taken into account, treating gamification participants as having the same social and cultural background. One can point to the development of research in: education and health services.
