    Trafficking in human beings is a phenomenon of rapid and profound changes. They are caused by, inter alia, globalization, the development of social ills and the gains brought by the growth of organized crime at dawn. Crime of this type, because of its low detection and disproportionate profits it brings, is becoming more popular than the trade in weapons or drugs. Human trafficking is a massive crime against humanity and respect for human rights is very important in the life of every individual and the country. We are born with rights, develop, and later with the rules die. Sometimes, however, this is how the acts of trafficking, that our rights are limited and broken. It is therefore necessary to detect all the operations and monitoring, which have as their primary objective to prevent crime.

    In the article, an attempt to characterize migration movements observed in the beginning of the second decade of the XXI century is made. The aim is to present challenges and threats for security o f the EU region and member states, caused by massive migration flows. A debate within the European Union on possible solutions of the problem is analyzed. Differences in the approach to the migration crisis are taken into account, motivated on one hand by the desire to guarantee protection to refugees and persons in a refugee-like situation, on the other - to preserve security of EU citizens, member states and the organization.

    Social security is a relatively new area of research in security sciences. In a life-threatening situation, any of us would try to escape. The example of refugees from Ukraine allows us to indicate a number of threats resulting from forced migration caused by war. What does social security mean to of Ukrainian emigrants in Poland? Since security is defined as a state of peace, a state of certainty and a guarantee of one’s behavior, the sense of security is a state of anxiety and lack of confidence. In order to better understand and assess this threat, it is necessary to explain what social security is. Social security is a concept that is viewed from many directions and there is no adopted definition that describes this social phenomenon. For the purposes of this article, the following definition has been adopted: Social security is associated with the probability of undesirable social phenomena (problems) and the limitation of risks related to survival and quality of life in the economic and cultural spheres. Moreover, the level of social security adjusts to social challenges and risks and such is the increased number of refugees in Poland.

    Current migratory movements have been mostly connected with the refugee crisis initiated in 2015, the deliberate actions of the government of Belarus in 2021 and the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022. It should be assumed that the pursuit of people towards the area of security is associated with multiple threats and challenges both for themselves and for their surroundings. The problems concern countries of departure, transit and destination. In each of these “stages” there are multiple threats affecting not only the refugees themselves. The main problem is the identification and analysis of threats, which would allow to define the conditions for strengthening the area of security related to migration. Threats concern both the life and health of people on the move (death in transit, loss of health, exposure to criminal and extreme political circles, involvement in criminal activities, economic exploitation, ethnic and religious animosities and conflicts) and for the institutions of states (social assistance, internal security). Global events indicate that threats, problems and challenges will continue to exist. It is therefore necessary to adapt the forms of institutional actions towards the problem in order to neutralize the indicated threats.
    Нынешние миграционные перемещения в основном связаны с кризисом беженцев, инициированным в 2015 г. преднамеренными действиями правительства Беларуси в 2021 г. и вторжением России в Украину в 2022 г. Надо полагать, что следование людей в направлении зоны безопасности связано с многочисленными угрозами и вызовами как для себя, так и для своего окружения. Проблема касается так стран происхождения, как и транзита и назначения. На каждом из этих «этапов» существует множество угроз, оказывающих влияние не только на самих беженцев. Основная проблема заключаеться в том, чтобы выявить и проанализировать угрозы, что позволило бы определить условия для усиления сферы безопасности, связанной с миграцией. Угрозы касаются как жизни и здоровья людей в пути (гибель, утрата здоровья, попадание в криминальные и экстремистские политические круги, вовлечение в преступную деятельность, экономическая эксплуатация, этническая и религиозная вражда и конфликты), так и институтов государств (социальная защита, внутренняя безопасность). Глобальные события свидетельствуют о том, что угрозы, проблемы и вызовы будут сохраняться. Поэтому необходимо адаптировать формы институциональных действий относительно к проблеме, чтобы нейтрализовать указанные угрозы.
