Opis:
Investigation of an MHD convective flow of viscous, incompressible and electrically conducting fluid through a porous medium bounded by two infinite vertical parallel porous plates is carried out. Forchheimer-Brinkman extended Darcy model is assumed to simulate momentum transfer within the porous medium. A magnetic field of uniform strength is applied normal to the plates. The analytical results are evaluated numerically and the presented graphically to discuss in detail the effects of different parameter entering into the problem.

A free convection viscous MHD flow over a semi-infinite vertical sheet with convective heat and mass conditions has been considered. The effects of thermal radiation, chemical reaction and Joule heating on flow are also accounted. The governing nonlinear partial differential equations have been transformed into a set of highly non-linear coupled ordinary differential equations (ODEs) using appropriate similarity transformations. Numerical solutions of transformed equations are obtained by employing the 5th order Runge-Kutta Fehlberg technique followed by the shooting technique. The influences of different flow parameters on the momentum, energy and mass field are discussed and shown graphically. Results reveal that temperature and concentration profiles enhance due to increasing heat and mass Biot number parameters.

Opis:
An investigation has been carried out for the MHD 3-dimensional flow of nanofluid over a shrinking sweet saturating a porous media in the presence of thermal radiation and heat generation. Convective boundary conditions for the flow phenomena are used in the present analysis. The governing equations are reduced to ODEs employing suitable similarity transformations. The solutions of formulated differential equations have been attained mathematically by fourth order R-K technique along with the shooting method. The impact of the governing constraints on momentum, heat, and local Nusselt number, are explored. It is noticed that the momentum and heat decrease with raise in the porosity variable, temperature reduces with an enhance in the thermal radiation variable, and temperature enhances with an enhance in the heat source/sink parameter.

Opis:
Magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) mixed convection flow of a viscous, incompressible and electrically conducting fluid in a vertical channel is analyzed analytically. A magnetic field of uniform strength is applied perpendicular to the planes of the channel walls. The fluid is acted upon by a periodic variation of the pressure gradient in the vertically upward direction. The temperature of one of the plates is non-uniform and the temperature difference of the walls of the channel is high enough to induce heat transfer due to radiation. The fluid and the channel rotate in unison with an angular velocity about the axis normal to the plates of the channel. An exact analytical solution of the problem is obtained. Two cases of small and large rotation have been considered to assess the effects of different parameters involved in the flow problem. The velocity field, the amplitude and the phase angle of the shear stress are shown graphically and discussed in detail. During analysis it is found that the flow problem studied by Makinde and Mhone (2005) is incorrect physically and mathematically.

Opis:
This study investigates the unsteady MHD flow of a fourth-grade fluid in a horizontal parallel plates channel. The upper plate is oscillating and moving while the bottom plate is stationary. Solutions for momentum, energy and concentration equations are obtained by the He-Laplace scheme. This method was also used by Idowu and Sani [12] and there is agreement with our results. The effect of various flow parameters controlling the physical situation is discussed with the aid of graphs. Significant results from this study show that velocity and temperature fields increase with the increase in the thermal radiation parameter, while velocity and concentric fields decrease with an increase in the chemical reaction parameter. Furthermore, velocity, temperature and concentric fields decrease with an increase in the suction parameter. It is also interesting to note that when 4S0=, our results will be in complete agreement with Idowu and Sani [12] results. The results of this work are applicable to industrial processes such as polymer extrusion of dye, draining of plastic films etc.

MHD slip flow past an extending surface with third type (convective) boundary condition and thermal radiation is analysed. The governing momentum and energy equations are converted into set of nonlinear ordinary differential equations using appropriate similarity transformations. The Fourth-Order Runge-Kutta shooting method is applied for obtaining the numerical solution of the resulting nonlinear ordinary differentia equations. The numerical results for velocity and temperature distribution are found for different values of the vital parameters, namely: the magnetic interaction factor, slip factor, convective factor, Prandtl number and radiation factor and are presented graphically, and discussed.

This article discusses the effect of heat and mass transfer in a boundary layer flow in the presence of a magnetic field of an electrically conducting and viscous fluid as it passes through a porous medium containing a heat source and a chemical reaction. By employing similarity variables, the governing equations are changed into nonlinear ordinary differential equations(ODEs). To solve the obtained equations numerically the Keller box method is used. Numerical and graphical representations of the results of different parameter values governing the flow system are given. The non-dimensional distributions of velocity, heat, and concentration are depicted graphically, while the Nusselt number, Sherwood number, and skin friction are determined numerically.

Opis:
An investigation of the effects of a chemical reaction and thermal radiation on unsteady MHD free convection heat and mass transfer flow of an electrically conducting, viscous, incompressible fluid past a vertical infinite flat plate embedded in a porous medium is carried out. The flow is induced by a general time-dependent movement of the vertical plate, and the cases of ramped temperature and isothermal plates are studied. An exact solution of the governing equations is obtained in closed form by the Laplace Transform technique. Some applications of practical interest for different types of plate motions are discussed. The numerical values of fluid velocity, temperature and species concentration are displayed graphically whereas the numerical values of skin friction, Nusselt number and Sherwood number are presented in a tabular form for various values of pertinent flow parameters for both ramped temperature and isothermal plates.

Opis:
This paper studies the effect of magneto hydrodynamics on unsteady free convection between a pair of infinite vertical Couette plates. The temperature of the plates and concentration between the plates vary with time. Convection between the plates is considered in the presence of thermal radiation and chemical reaction. The solution is obtained using perturbation techniques. These techniques are used to transform nonlinear coupled partial differential equations to a system of ordinary differential equations. The resulting equations are solved analytically. The solution is expressed in terms of power series with some small parameter. The effect of various parameters, viz., velocity, temperature and concentration, has been discussed. Mat lab code simulation study is carried out to support the theoretical results. The result shows that as the thermal radiation parameter R increases, the temperature decreases near the moving porous plate while it approaches to a zero in the region close to the boundary layer of the stationary plate. Moreover, as the modified Grashof number, i.e., based on concentration difference, increases, the velocity of the fluid flow increases hence the concentration decreases. An increase in both the chemical reaction parameter and Schmidt number results in decreased concentration.
