    Opis:
    Presented article analyzes the sources of conflict between the family role and the professional role. The article is focused on the sources of conflict between work and family. The possibility of interference between these two roles should be closely investigated and better understood. Despite that in some cases the lines between professional and family life tend to blur, both of these types of life still have different roles and requirements. The article is an investigation of attainable literature and studies regarding the subject. The empirical investigation imply that the conflict of roles starts when the time committed to the requirements of one of them makes it difficult to meet the requirements of the other. Even though lately the number of investigations of this subject has grown, the results are still differentiated and sometimes even self-contradictory. The comparison of the results of different investigators showed that the work-family and family-work conflicts are positively correlated which indicates mutual strengthening and necessity of searching for common and individual causes that condition their coexistence, domination and strength. The received results are consistent with the results of many other studies, whose authors tried to indicate that each of these conflicts could have specific causes and course.

    Opis:
    Professional and family roles are one of the basic and most important roles performed by adults. Transformations of modern organisations and families show that these two types of social groups are closely related. Work allows people to acquire material resources that are necessary to meet family needs and determine its social status. This study is of qualitative nature. Its main goal is to identify the factors that limit professional activation of mothers and those that limit implementation of the right of fathers to engage in the family life related to the difficulties encountered in reconciling professional and family roles. The attempt to identify these factors was carried out at the level of individual parent strategies, organisation practices, and at the level of implemented social policy, taking into account employers' organisations and trade union opinions.

    Celem badań była identyfikacja roli, jaką pełnią asystenci rodzin wraz z treścią realizowanych przez nich zadań, utrudnieniami, których doświadczają, i czynnikami sprzyjającymi. Rolę zawodową potraktowano jako ramę analiz funkcjonowania i doświadczeń zawodowych badanych asystentek rodzin. Przedstawiony materiał pochodzi z pięciu indywidualnych, częściowo ustrukturyzowanych wywiadów pogłębionych z asystentami rodzin. Wyniki badań ujawniły, że prawie wszystkie asystentki realizują własne role zawodowe w pewnym stopniu w sposób niestandardowy, choć wspólną cechą prezentowanych wypowiedzi jest świadomość wagi zaufania we wspólnej pracy z rodzinami. Ponadto cechuje je doświadczanie pewnych trudności jawiących się jako kombinacja różnych elementów. Badane werbalizują przekonanie, że same kreują własne role zawodowe, które są w pewnej mierze wyznaczane także przez wspierane rodziny, kierowników oraz pracowników socjalnych.
    The aim of the study was to identify the role fulfilled by family assistants, along with the subject-matter of their tasks, obstacles they encounter, and favourable factors. Professional role was treated as a framework for professional functioning and experiences of the family assistants participating in the study. The presented material originates from five individual, semi-structured in-depth interviews with family assistants. The results of the study revealed that, to some extent, almost all assistants fulfil their own professional roles in a non-standard manner, although the statements they made have a common characteristic: awareness of the importance of trust in their joint work with families. Moreover, family assistants are characterised as experiencing some difficulties that appear to be the combination of various components. The participants verbalise the conviction that they create their professional roles themselves, which are determined, to some extent, also by the families they support, their managers, and social workers.

    Cel. Wskazuje się, że istnieje związek między doświadczeniem parentyfikacji, czyli odwrócenia ról w rodzinie, i skutkami traumy relacyjnej wynikającej z parentyfikacji, a charakterem pracy zawodowej związanej z szeroko rozumianym pomaganiem. Badania potwierdzają, że osoby wybierające na przykład zawód nauczyciela, lekarza, psychologa, psychoterapeuty czy pielęgniarki – same często doświadczyły parentyfikacji w rodzinie pochodzenia. Celem artykułu jest zwrócenie uwagi na możliwe zakłócenia w wypełnianiu roli zawodowej przez nauczycieli, którzy w dzieciństwie doświadczyli odwrócenia ról w rodzinie. Metoda. Analiza tekstów naukowych polskich i zagranicznych. Wyniki. Doświadczenie parentyfikacji może być predyktorem zakłóceń w wypełnianiu roli zawodowej nauczyciela. Biorąc pod uwagę społeczne znaczenie systemu edukacji, wydaje się potrzebne podjęcie reprezentatywnych analiz empirycznych na temat skutków parentyfikacji w wypełnianiu roli zawodowej nauczycieli, i w konsekwencji podejmowanie działań o charakterze psychoedukacyjnym.
    Aim. It is indicated that there is a relationship between the experience of parentification, i.e., the reversal of roles in the family, and the effects of relational trauma resulting from parentification, and the nature of professional work related to broadly understood helping. Research confirms that people choosing, for example, the profession of a teacher, doctor, psychologist, psychotherapist, or nurse – have often experienced parentification in their family of origin. The aim of the article is to draw attention to possible disruptions in fulfilling the professional role by teachers who experienced role reversal in the family in their childhood. Methods. Analysis of Polish and foreign scientific texts. Results. The experience of parentification may be a predictor of disturbances in fulfilling the teacher’s professional role. Taking into account the social importance of the education system, it seems necessary to undertake representative empirical analyzes on the effects of parentification in fulfilling the professional role of teachers and, consequently, undertaking psychoeducational activities.

Ramy analiz stanowią koncepcje tranzycji z młodości do dorosłości, zmiany na rynku pracy w społeczeństwie ponowoczesnym i worklife-balance. Empiryczną podstawę rozważań stanowi część jakościowych wyników uzyskanych w projekcie NCN Polityki publiczne na rzecz pełnej dorosłości w Polsce. Egzemplifikacją wniosków o zróżnicowaniu wyborów między rolą zawodową a rolą rodzinną są cztery wywiady quasi biograficzne trzydziestoletnich mieszkanek Łodzi i jednego z powiatów województwa łódzkiego.
    The article discusses the professional and family choices of young women entering adulthood in the context of the dynamically changing labour market in Poland at the turn of the century and modernization of family life patterns. The analysis is based on the concepts of transition from youth to adulthood, labour market changes in post-modern society and work-lifebalance. The empirical findings are based on the qualitative results obtained in the NCN project “Public Policies for Full Adulthood in Poland”. The conclusions on the differentiation of choices between professional and family roles are exemplified by four quasi biographical interviews with thirty-yearold female residents of Łódź and one of the districts of Łódź Province.
