Opis:
This paper presents an analysis of the influence of the kind of a friction model on the dimensioning of a branch pressure fluctuation damper. The mathematical model of the branch damper is defined by determining the damper input impedance and finding its minimum corresponding to the maximum effectiveness in reducing pressure fluctuations. Three kinds of friction for the oscillatory flow in the damper, i.e. a lossless line, steady friction and a nonstationary friction model, are considered. Experimental studies confirmed that the use of the nonstationary friction model in the calculation of branch damper length ensures the highest effectiveness in reducing the amplitude of pressure fluctuations characterized by a given frequency.

Opis:
The aim of this study is to develop the numerical–analytical model of frictional heating in a pad/disc system during braking including the pressure fluctuations, engendered by the pump in an anti-skid braking operation. For this purpose, the problem of motion and the one-dimensional thermal problem of friction for a semi-space/semi-space tribosystem were formulated and solved. Obtained solutions allow to calculate temperature distribution on the contact surface and inside the friction elements. Thermal analysis was performed for a metal–ceramic pad and a cast iron disc during one-time braking including the time-dependent, oscillating pressure. The influence of amplitude of pressure fluctuations on the temperature variations was investigated, especially on the value of maximum temperature achieved during braking.

Opis:
In the paper, the flow-through phenomena in the air gauge are under discussion form the thermodynamic and gasodynamic perspective. The main elements of the cascade are considered the inlet nozzle (restriction), measuring chamber and the measuring nozzle with the measuring slot (displacement between the nozzle head and measured surface). The purpose of the analysis was to point out the impact on the metrological characteristics of the air gauge. In particular, attention was paid to the airflow through the measuring slot. Here, the complex phenomena take place, among others the supersonic areas and a “bubble ring,” which cause discontinuity and hysteresis in the static characteristic. On the other hand, the air stream expansion after the restriction (inlet nozzle) is observed in the measuring chamber. The point of the above discussion was to work out some recommendation on the nozzles geometry and the localization of the back-pressure measuring point in the chamber.
