    In the writings of St. Augustine, the Latin word cor occurs more than 8,000 times, being one of the most important, though ambiguous, terms of his anthropology and spirituality. As a synonym for the inner man (homo interior) it encompasses the whole affective, intellectual, moral and religious life. In this sense, it is the privileged place for a personal encounter with God. The analysis of Augustine’s writings reveals a link between the concept of the Trinity and indications concerning the spiritual life of man. Reflections on the “heart” can be put into a kind of triptych: creation “in the image of God,” illumination by Christ, and dilatation by the Holy Spirit. The impact of God on the human heart should find its completion in a voluntarily adopted attitude of adoration, humility and love.

    Celem tego artykułu było zbadanie, jak św. Paweł rozumie rozeznawanie woli Boga w życiu wierzących. Egzegeza modlitwy wstawienniczej apostoła zanoszonej do Boga za Filipian (1, 9–11) wskazuje na to, że rozeznawanie jest przede wszystkim darem, łaską Boga, o którą warto prosić dla siebie i dla innych, dla Kościoła.Apostoł Narodów podkreśla, że rozeznawanie łączy się ściśle ze wzrostem w miłości, ale też z otwieraniem się na poznanie objawiającego się Boga. Kluczową kwestią w rozeznawaniu – dla Pawła – jest odnajdywanie tego, co jest faktycznie wartościowe. Odczytując tę zasadę poprzez Rz 12, 2 można przyjąć, że chodzi o to, co dobre – w znaczeniu – pomocne do zbawienia, o to w czym Bóg ma upodobanie, czyli o czystość serca i całkowite ofiarowanie się Jemu oraz o to, co doskonałe, dojrzałe.Treść tej modlitwy wstawienniczej zdaje się uwrażliwiać wierzących na dzia-łającego Boga, od którego pochodzi dar miłości, rozpoznawania i wybierania tego, co sprawia, że podobieństwo wierzących do Chrystusa coraz wyraźniej się uwidacznia.
    The purpose of this article is to investigate how Saint Paul understands the discernment of God’s will in the life of believers. The exegesis of the intercessory prayer of the Apostle addressed to God for the Philippians (1:9-11) indicates that discernment is above all a gift, a grace of God, worth asking for, for oneself and for others, and for the Church.The Apostle of Nations emphasizes that discernment is closely connected with growth in love, but also with opening to the knowledge of the God who makes himself known.The key issue in discernment, for Paul, is to discover what is actually of true value.Reading this principle in the light of Rom 12:2 one can assume that it is about what is good, in the sense of helpful to salvation, about what pleases God, that is, purity of heart and total sacrifice to Him, and about what is perfect, mature.The content of this intercessory prayer seems to sensitize believers to the God at work within them, the God from whom comes the gift of love, and the gift recognizing and choosing what makes the likeness of believers to Christ more clearly manifest.

    The article shows how in the light of God’s Mercy a human being rediscovers and realises the basic truth that in his/her heart is a great longing and hunger for God’s love. God invites to listen to what He says to humans through the words of the Holy Bible. He invites people to listen and realise the loving presence of God inside. The author of the article shows that trust is the fruit of a relationship in which a person knows that he/she is loved. Trust presupposes a longing for God and a sincere search for Him in everything. The road to trust is expressed in three attitudes: in seeking God inside; in sensitive listening to His voice in one’s heart; and in trustingly opening oneself to His love and immersion in His mercy. Thanks to loneliness, silence and prayer, a human being discovers the Source of life which lies deep inside his/her heart. In the human being, in his/her interior is the source from which he/she draws life and nourishes hope. Immersion in this source of mercy means that one experiences inner change.
    Artykuł pokazuje, jak w świetle Bożego Miłosierdzia człowiek na nowo odkrywa i uświadamia sobie podstawową prawdę, że w jego sercu kryje się wielka tęsknota za miłością i głód Boga. Bóg sam zaprasza do słuchania tego, co mówi do człowieka przez słowa Pisma Świętego. Zaprasza, aby człowiek, słuchając, uświadomił sobie pełną miłości obecność Boga w swoim wnętrzu. Autor artykułu pokazuje, że ufnośćjest owocem relacji, w której człowiek wie, że jest kochany. Ufność zakłada tęsknotę za Bogiem i szczere poszukiwanie Go we wszystkim. Droga do ufności wyraża się w trzech postawach: w poszukiwaniu Boga w swoim wnętrzu, we wrażliwym słuchaniu Jego głosu we własnym sercu oraz w ufnym otwarciu się na Jego miłość i zanurzeniu w Jego miłosierdziu. Dzięki samotności, milczeniu i modlitwie człowiek odkrywa Źródło życia, które kryje się w głębi jego serca. W człowieku bowiem, w jego wnętrzu, jest źródło, z którego czerpie on życie i karmi swoją nadzieję. Zanurzenie w tym źródle miłosierdzia sprawia, że człowiek doświadcza wewnętrznej przemiany.

    The article presents prayer as a way to achieve perfection. According to St Theresa of Calcutta, it is only through constant prayer that a person’s heart can be pure, becoming a dwelling place for God. The article also presents prayer as the centre of spiritual life and a condition for its development. The author presents four types of prayer according to Teresa of Calcutta. Describes the role of prayer in achieving holiness. Presents the types of prayer and their functions in the spiritual life of man. Shows prayers as a process and a means of knowing God’s will.

    Opis:
    The article is the attempt to analyze the teaching of early christian apologists about possession and exorcisms in Church. They recognize that possession in the strict sense applies to a human body. By contrast, spiritual enslavement consists in introducing someone into impiety. Evil spirits, after turning away from their Creator, envy people the grace of God and try to take them away from God and to enslave. They claim to be gods and demand sacrifices and a cult. Magic is also the way to enslavement, because the effectiveness of magic is connected with the power of demons. An exorcism is a kind of spiritual fight in which a christian, in the name of Jesus, commands demons and liberates the possessed person. Exorcisms are the manifestation of God’s power, which beats evil spirits and exposes their lies. Although the main reason of the liberation is the power of God’s name, faith and ardent prayer of a possessed person and these who pray for him have also an impact on that process. Christians who live in the grace of God are under the care of Christ, so they don’t have to fear demons.

    The word is a mighty ruler capable of performing miracles. Proclamation of God’s Word was and still is one of the most important tasks of the Church. The Word of God awakens and deepens faith. The preacher undertakes a responsible task collaborating with God himself. This responsibility goes beyond the limits of worldliness. Reading and studying the Bible is not sufficient. It is essen- tial to join talent and knowledge together with prayer. Therefore, prayer should be the foundation of priest’s spiritual life. Proper preparation and fruitful preaching is closely related to the spiritual life of the preacher of God’s Word. Immersed in prayer preacher is a credible witness of Christ and a living sign of God’s presence in the modern world. The preacher must be convinced of what he teaches. There is no shortage in the Church of those who are a model of preaching based on their prayer. The word of God they had proclaimed was a masterpiece. The Word that matured in prayer was like gold received from God to pass on to man.
