    Aim. The proposed study examines the subversive polemics of Fo’s theatre which serves as a catalyst for social, political and cultural change. It aims to foreground the revolutionary politics of Fo who uses theatre to combat the oppressive system bringing to fore the working-class struggle for a classless society. The present study will be done with the help of the analysis of Fo’s select plays. These plays will be interpreted using the Gramscian framework of cultural consensus, an enabling provision of authority and control and the role of intellectuals in countering the same. Concept. The paper underlines the significance of art in facilitating a deeper understanding of the complex social realities of our world. The paper engages with the question of power and control, oppression and marginalisation as well as art and education as contextualised in Dario Fo’s theatre. Results. Fo’s use of drama to humanize the history of Italian working classes tells us about the expedience of art to enage with matters most urgent. This tells us that art and culture can be an important link in the mobilization authoritarism. Conclusion. A comprehensive discussion on power politics is presented in the paper with the aim of keeping people informed of the subtle working of these underlying structures which govern power relations in society. Originality. The originality of the study is contingent on investigating into how power is acquired, legitimised, practised, and maintained, how it can be resisted and what role art and artists play in the construction, dissemination and opposition of it.

    Aim. Georgia has traditionally been a country of cultural diversity. Due to the proper political approach, Georgian authorities of all times have managed to successfully govern the peaceful coexistence of people of different nationalities and religions. It is true that in the post-Soviet period, there was some disagreement between the cultures inspired by external forces; however, generally, all the authorities made every effort to legally strengthen the inherited tolerant habit. The paper does not deal with the conflicts of ethnopolitical nature, staged by Russia. The mentioned issue is a part of the country’s domestic policy, which is important and still is relevant nowadays, therefore the paper aims to study the role of cultural diversity and tolerance in modern Georgian politics, the attitude to it, and how the country managed to preserve the centuries-old heritage. Methods. Based on several empirical materials, various researched-studied documents, scientific papers, analysis of government documents, the use of the method of historicism is presented in the paper. Results. The paper presents the current existing reality in Georgia in the field of cultural diversity and the effective steps of the state for the proper development of cultural diversity. Conclusion. Modern Georgian politics is motivated to involve ethnic and religious minorities in the process of monitoring and implementing the Culture Policy Action Plan, based on the recent history and new current worldwide tendency, which will guarantee the establishment of a tolerant society and democracy in Georgia.

    Cultural policy constitutes one of important elements of the functioning of a state. It has a major impact on citizens’ participation in culture, it guarantees preservation of cultural heritage for the future generations; it also refers to a specific social group – artists creating cultural works. The article analyses cultural policy in Poland after 1989. It presents the assumptions behind its definition and problems related to its interpretation. It examines the legal framework for cultural policy in our country and demonstrates the main stages of its development at the state level after 1989. The final part of the article contains a description of cultural policies in selected countries worldwide, highlighting how they differ in relation to the Polish example.

    The considerations in this article are an attempt to grasp and deeply analyze the relationship between wine and politics in the contemporary world. The importance of wine on the international stage is a multi-threaded topic, but the work focuses primarily on the special role of wine in the cross-country dimension. The author uses the method of case study analysis to present the activities of Russia’s economic diplomacy and France’s cultural diplomacy. Their example allows us to understand the role of wine in the implementation of individual foreign policy goals, including strengthening the power and prestige of the state in the international arena.

    New Caledonia, located in the South Pacific, from 1853 remains under the authority of the French government. Although the economy of this territory is mainly based on the extraction of nickel, in the case of the Isle of Pines tourism plays a key role. Contemporary issues related to the development of the tourism industry on the island have to be referred to the very peculiar political, social and cultural context. In the article the author describes various aspects of the tourism activities in New Caledonia and analyzes the socio-political local situation in the context of custom and customary law.

    W artykule autor dokonuje analizy polskich narracji bokserskich z lat pięćdziesiątych i sześćdziesiątych oraz wpisanego w nie skomplikowanego układu polityki oraz społecznych relacji. Skupiwszy się na filmie Bokser w reżyserii Juliana Dziedziny, dowodzi, że mimo silnej propagandy biografie bokserskie tego okresu ukazują drzemiącą w tym sporcie subwersywną moc oporu wobec politycznej instrumentalizacji.
    The article examines boxing in Poland through its political history and cultural representations. The author focuses on boxing films and novels created in 1950s and 1960s and in particular Julian Dziedzina’s fictional movie based on real boxer’s (Marian Kasprzyk’s) biography Bokser. The movie evidences the complex and complicated connections between boxing and sport politics as well as the social background of that time. The article shows that despite the propaganda many Polish boxing biographies of that period show that sport is able to resist a simple instrumental use.

    The aim of the article is the presentation of the Interpretative anthropology, and its connections with political science. The paper describes humanistic inspirations of contemporary social theories, anthropological ways of understanding of culture and the title category with its political context.     W myśli René Girarda znaczenie mają takie pojęcia, jak: naśladownictwo, przemoc, kozioł ofiarny i ofiara. Kolektywna przemoc łatwo i szybko jednoczy grupę. Społecznością, która często pełniła rolę kozła ofiarnego, byli Żydzi. Mechanizm ofiarniczy ujawnił się także w czasie rewolucji francuskiej. Obserwując polską scenę polityczną również można dostrzec jego działanie, które wyraża się w budowaniu własnej tożsamości politycznej na fundamencie niechęci do innych. Uwidaczniają się także jednostki lub grupy osób, które świadomie kreują się na ofiarę ze względu na związane z tym korzyści polityczne i finansowe. Można wskazać na nowy typ ofiary. To ludzie stojący pod silnym wpływem mediów podsuwających gotowe rozwiązania, którzy w konsekwencji oduczyli się samodzielnego myślenia i działania.
    Such ideas as imitation, violence, sacrifice and the mechanism of victimization are important for René Girard’s thinking. He says that collective violence unites the groupquickly and easily. Jews are an example of a community, which often served as a scapegoat. The mechanism of victimization was also revealed during the French Revolution. Observing the Polish political scene you can see that the same mechanism is at work. The reluctance to the other is a important way to build its own identity. There are individuals or groups of people who consciously set themselves up as victims because of the associated benefits. A new type of victim is revealed nowadays. These are the people standing under the strong influence of the media pointing to ready‑made solutions, which teach consequently not to think and act for themselves.

    Spreewald Forest. (On) The Smallest Slavonic People – The Sorbs and Wends Upper and Lower Lusatia with mountains in the Southern border region with the Czech Republic (Bohemia) and the natural and cultural water landscapes of the Spreewald Forest are the native lands of the Slavonic Sorbs and Wends with a unique history, language, and culture. The ancestor of the Sorbs and Wends came here in the 6th century, and both peoples are closely related to their Western Slavonic brethren, the Czechs and Poles. In their complicated history they had to experience persecution, assimilation, and displacement, language prohibition, deportation, and even extermination included. In their home regions the Sorbs have the right to speak Sorabian/Wendish today, in public, at school, and at court as well. The increasing industrialization provokes more and more calls and activities for the preservation of the unique scenery, and language and culture of the Sorbian minority. The maintenance of the rich culture, customs and traditions of the Sorbs and Wends was and is still an important aspect for their future existence, and self-preservation. They are kept alive in many regions, across language and cultural barriers. General knowledge on this ethnic and cultural minority is in Germany often reduced to customs and mere folklore. Although many Sorbs and Wends are Christians today, most of their cultural heritage, customs and legends are of pagan-originated, a challenging, and interesting offer. The rich culture, lively customs and traditions make the bilingual region a unique, interesting, and attractive place for many visitors that can experience a lot in the triangle border region of Saxony, Bohemia, and Silesia. They may follow the ancient trade route Via Regia as well as the holy route Via Sacra connecting the Lusatia region with important historic and cultural destinations in Poland and the Czech Republic. Interested guest may experience traditions alive, for instance they might follow the traces of Krabat, also called the “Wendish Faust” and main character of the most popular Sorabian/Wendish legend coming from this area. Traditions are part of a well-preserved history and cultural heritage, and they are an integrating practice in modern life of this region, and in policy, too.
