    W pracy przedstawiono symulację rozprzestrzeniania się pożaru roślinności w wybranym kompleksie leśnym w pobliżu Nowogrodu. Analiza rozwoju pożaru roślinności została przeprowadzona za pomocą oprogramowania FARSITE. Omówiono sposób kompletowania danych, zależności hipotetycznego rozwoju pożaru od rodzaju paliwa powierzchni oraz warunków pogodowych. Pokazano możliwości wykorzystania omawianego oprogramowania do prognozowania walki z pożarem przez grupy gaśnicze.
    The paper presents a simulation of the spread of fire vegetation in the selected forest complex near Novgorod. The analysis of fire development of vegetation was carried out using the software FARSITE. The data compilation, the hypothetical development fire from fuel type surface and weather conditions were discussed. Showing the possibility of using this software to predict the fire-fighting by fire-fighting groups.

    Opis:
    The paper presents the assumptions for the computer simulation of a forest fire in according with digital topographic map of forest and short-term weather forecast. To conduct the simulation, a software has been created. The software includes deterministic mathematical model of a forest fire. Input data have been extracted from the short-term weather forecast and the digital forest maps. The application range covers both planning of a controlled fire, e.g. in cases when the fires are intentionally started by the forest services to get rid of accumulated forest material, as well as to plan extinguishing actions and to plan appropriate disposal of resources during the extinguishing of a forest fire. Creation of the described simulation environment arises from the need of optimum planning of the extinguishing actions in local fire service centers. The initial risk assessment in the stage of planning the extinguishing action, will allow efficient management of equipment by the local units. It also prevents from repeating wrong decisions made in the early stages. This need imposes limiting the use of equipment platforms to medium class PC.s. The outcomes of the paper provides accessibility of a tool supporting the decision making process and assessing the damages in the high risk conditions of a forest fire. Furthermore, conducting a simulation allows to estimate the need for fire fighting equipment in the case of total and border extinguishing of a fire, for different weather conditions, considering fire density.

    W artykule przedstawiono założenia do modelu automatu komórkowego pożaru lasu. Opisano elementy systemu symulacji komputerowej w aspekcie rozprzestrzeniania się ognia.
    The paper presents theoretical and practical development and simulation method for small and medium - sized forest fires for the Polish geographical and climatic conditions. It presents the assumptions for the cellular model simulation of forest fire with data derived from digital maps of forest and short – term weather forecasts. Practical realization of the assumptions and the mathematical model are presented in the form of software, combining the input data and processing to form the forecast spread of fire. The simulation of water consumption for extinguishing the fire completely or only its rim for the early assessment of threats, planning for extinguishing the fire has been made.
