Opis:
One of the sources to finance enterprises is credit. The criteria and conditions for banks to give credits affect both the activity of business subjects and their further development. The paper contains an analysis of the situation in the credit market. It is based on the results from a survey conducted by the Department of the Finance System of the National Bank of Poland. The survey encompassed the period between March and April 2005 and was conducted among 24 banks. A consolidation of the bank sector, the increase of the importance of foreign banks, and the establishment of parabank institutions increase competition on the market of financial services. Banks search after methods to elicit information that would help them make decisions. The situation on the credit market affects the functioning of the whole financial system. The majority of banks does not predict changes in credit policy. A change may temper the conditions and criteria on which to give credits. They essentially affect the management of corporate finances. It is also important how banks elicit information about the modes of financing.

Opis:
The rise of central banking in the world and in Poland has become necessary. The desire for economic evolution in particular countries forced them to look for finances and also for proper ways of investing them. Moreover, the issue of money by private banks contributed to many crises. The history of central banking in Poland goes back to the beginning of the 17th century. It started with a discussion – that lasted over 60 years – over setting up a public bank. It was set up only in1828, and then closed down in 1885. The further history of central banking in Poland depended on the economic situation obtaining at the moment in the country, as well as on the political situation. At the time when Poland was partitioned mainly the occupant countries' banks worked. When Poland recovered its independence the main task was the settlement of the monetary circulation and of the credit, supporting the stability of the new currency, and the economic development of the country. After World War II the new government and the new system brought a central bank that was entirely dependent on the state. The present shape of the central bank is the result of evolution and transformation of the Polish state and of the banking system.

Opis:
Money is all that which is universally accepted in the form of payment for goods and services, debt repayment. It occurred in various forms. First there were skins, shells, salt, etc., then gold, silver, or other metals. Now it is paper, deposit, electronic money. Monetary policy embraces actions taken in economy designed to supply subjects with money and credit. The central bank is responsible for monetary policy in the state; it uses banks to transmit its own impulses. The basic goal of the National Bank of Poland is determined by the Polish Constitution and the Law of the National Bank of Poland of 2nd August 1998. Thje goal is very general, therefore in practice it calls for making concrete proposals. The central bank understands stability of prices as the rate of inflation so low that it will not have any negative impact on investments, savings, and other decisions of economic life. Monetary policy in Poland is based on BCI. Its basic goal in 2005 was a possibly rapid return of inflation to the range of fluctuations, and then approximate 2.5%.
