The following article is focused on the question of the primary task of philosophy in culture. The problem of philosophy itself is the starting point here. The author observes a chronic discord among philosophers on what philosophy is that undermines the identity of the afore-mentioned as well as disables it from determining its tasks in the culture. Thus, he attempts to determine the nature of philosophy indirectly. The author indicates what philosophy is not and has never been from its beginning, and can not be if it be itself. According to the author, myth is an effective negative criterion with which to determine the true character of philosophy. Philosophy’s aspiration to emancipate itself from myth’s influence justifies the effort to search the foundation of philosophy in contradistinction from myth, and enabling a determination of philosophy directly by indicating its constitutive factors. To philosophize is to know things as they are in the real world, or as they are related to the real world. A reflection on philosophy is not only possible, but also necessary. Since philosophy is part of human culture, the author concludes that the primary task of philosophy in culture consists in justifying the identity of philosophy as such.

This paper attempts to analyze realist philosophy as the way of knowing reality in the thought of Étienne Gilson. The French Philosopher was a defender of philosophical realism who rationally justified the thesis about knowing things existing in the world independently of the knowing subject. Philosophical inquiry, carried out in a realist way, should start with the being which really exists. The basic philosophical method aims to rationally understand reality as well as explain the multifaceted cognition of reality. Gilson’s contribution to the development of philosophical realism includes the promotion of a realist philosophical awareness and the opposition to idealistic philosophies (Cartesianism, Kantianism).

Opis:
In the article the author takes the following topics: first, he adjudges whether the issue is really taken a functional problem, or maybe a pseudo-problem. He notes that, although the present day culture is assimilated with modern art, specifically speaking, the so-called. anti-art is still many theorist accused her betraying the ethos of art and destructive impact on the culture. Moreover, the author points out that anti-art is the cause of social conflicts. Her achievements since violate elementary — cognitive, moral and religious — the criteria of cultural discourse, and yet art is not an isolated, autonomous and autotelic area, but organically related to all spheres of culture. The author adds that the knowledge of philosophical and civilisational context is a necessary issue in the debate on the arts. Second, the author answers the question, what is a crisis. He draws attention to the etymology of the word, according to which (gr. krisis), it means either a sudden change in the course of things, the collapse of something, and the moment of decision is something that turn (from gr. krinein), is a state of existential undesirable that storm in a specific area of the balance of reality and thus undermine its purpose and rationality. Thirdly, the author briefly presents the positions taken by the artists and scholars in a discussion of the crisis in the arts. Then, fourthly, the author considers the place of the arts in culture and civilization. He touches the problem of modernism and postmodernism following it. Fifth, he answers the question of whether and how philosophy lies at the root of this crisis in the arts. Finally, the sixth, the author addresses the problem of idealism and its repercussions in the field of philosophy. In conclusion, the author notes that to really understand the problem of art, one cannot ignore the context of philosophy, without which any discussion of the art significantly alter its understanding and consequently lead to a crisis not only in terms of understanding the culture, but above the understanding of human being.

Nie zrozumiemy do końca sytuacji wychowania dziś, jego dróg i bezdroży, jeśli nie odwołamy się do filozofii, pamiętając o jej związkach z pedagogiką, wpisanych na trwałe w horyzonty myśli europejskiej. Od początku filozoficznego myślenia widoczne są dwie przeciwstawne tradycje filozoficzne: realizm i idealizm. Mają one odmienną ontologię, epistemologię, antropologię i aksjologię, które stanowią założenia (fundament) konkretnej pedagogiki, kierunku pedagogicznego czy też koncepcji wychowania. W niniejszym artykule przyglądamy się realizmowi i idealizmowi w kontekście ich wpływu na wychowanie, zaznaczając jednocześnie wynikające z tego konsekwencje. Poczyniona w artykule analiza pozwala stwierdzić, że prawdziwa droga wychowania związana jest z realizmem, zaś idealizm sprowadza wychowanie, jak i samą pedagogikę, na bezdroża.
We do not understand fully the situation of upbringing, its roads and roadless tracts, unless we invoke to the philosophy, remembering about its relations with pedagogy placed permanently in the horizons of the European thoughts. Since the beginning of philosophical thinking, there are noticeable two opposing philosophical traditions: realism and idealism. They have different ontology, epistemology, anthropology and axiology which determine the principles (the basis) of the specific pedagogy, the trend of pedagogy or the concept of upbringing. In the following article, we examine realism and idealism in the context of their influence on upbringing, indicating at the same time the consequences arising from it. The analysis, which has been conducted in the article, let us state that the true way of upbringing is connected with realism whereas idealism leads upbringing, as well as the pedagogy itself, astray.
