    Introduction: Health is one of the most important and cherished values in the elderly. It has been estimated that among people over 65 years old 80% of people suffer from at least one physical illness. Purpose: To identify the opinions of the respondents on the most common health problems of elderly over 60. Materials and methods: The study was conducted between January 2013 and November 2014 in three study groups: Polish, Belarusian and Greek students. A total of 600 (200 for each group) respondents were tested with the questionnaire created by authors. Results: Respondents indicated that the most characteristic physical features of elderly people are wrinkles (68.7%, n = 412), gray hair (54.3%, n = 326) while cardiovascular diseases are the most common health problem (76.3%, n = 458). The most significant factor in delaying the aging process was active lifestyle (85.3%, n = 512). Conclusions: There is a need for increased education in geriatrics and care of the elderly among students of health sciences, who in the future will be entered in the geriatric therapeutic teams. The perception of health problems of the elderly were different depending on the country of origin of the respondents. This may indicate that the students don’t know the basic diseases and ailments in this age group (for example geriatric giants).

    Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) is a powerful mean to promotes sustainable development. A decade ago, the UN Decade of Education for Sustainable Development (DESD) promoted this concept to support the creation of a more sustainable future. In 2015, the United Nations launched The Global Action Programme (GAP) to promote the EDS at all levels and in all settings. The University of Sonora in Northwestern Mexico has been engaged in greening its campus by a Sustainability Management System (SMS), which is based on the ISO 14001 international standard. This article is aimed at measuring the awareness of students about safety in chemistry laboratories at the University of Sonora. Despite of being the first university to be ISO 14001 certified in Latin America, findings in this study show that most of the students at the University of Sonora are unaware of key topics of the institutional sustainability management system. Particularly, students are unaware of internal practices for increasing safety in laboratories. A better awareness of the environmental policy and benefits of safety issues among students could be a positive indicator of the relevance of the SMS for increasing the safety within laboratories.

    The preventive archaeological research that has been carried out in recent years in the historical area of Timisoara constituted the context for conducting a sociological study regarding the perception of permanent residents and visitors to the city of Timisoara, on these researches, both in terms of the legislative framework in which preventive archaeological investigations are carried out, their way of organization, but especially regarding their impact on the cultural heritage of the city. A separate category of subjects, individualized within the target group of the research, is the students. Our analysis follows the perception of 360 students, highlighting both their level of information and knowledge regarding the archaeological research carried out in Timisoara, but also their opinions regarding the impact and usefulness of this type of investigation for the cultural heritage and for the city of Timisoara. After analyzing the results, we could find that most students expressed themselves in favor of this type of archaeological investigation, perceived as necessary and useful, with an impact especially on local history, which should be restored and valued. The conclusions of the study are important in our opinion, as they reflect the perception of a significant category of the population, namely students (mostly young people, aged between 18-28).

    The labour market in any field becomes more and more demanding and specialized, professional. For a more efficient absorption of graduates, the professional environment requires both advanced theoretical knowledge and practical abilities. During the study period, based on rational mechanisms, students form a perception related to the probability of finding an adequate job. In this article we model the constructed perceptions through Ordered Logit models. The application regards 88 students from two Romanian universities. The programme they are involved in is called “The Audit and Financial Management of European Funds”. The results obtained are in accordance with the logical mechanisms evidenced in the theoretical part. The explanatory variables that are statistically significant relate both to the scholarly results and to the student’s status on the labour market. The conclusions drawn are not limited only to the evaluated sample. They are easy to generalize, with necessary changes, to any university specialization.

    The article presents an analysis of the research on the perception of public relations by the students of journalism. The study was conducted on a group consisting of students of the Institute of Journalism at the University of Warsaw. The aim of the study was to assess the journalism students’ knowledge of public relations, identify their abilities to notice and perceive relationships between PR and journalism, as well as to gather the opinions of the forthcoming journalists on public relations. The conclusions of the study indicate not only the attitude of the future journalists and media experts towards the public relations industry but also provide some basis for discussion on the state of public relations and journalism in Poland, as well as the media education there. The research is a continuation of a project on professionalism, ethics and public relations education conducted by the author.

    The article is a summary of research into the perception of leisure time space, conducted in 2014 among Liceum students (aged 16-19) and members of the ‘Universities of the Third Age’ (U3A) in Łódź. The author compared perceptions of the idea of leisure time by both of these groups, studied how they spent it and described the factors which have a significant influence. Next, he analysed different approaches to the urban space of Łódź as well as comparing them to the spatial range and the types of visited places and events.

    The main aim of the present article is to show what students from Poland and Ukraine think about families with many children. The text includes information about this phenomenon in both countries and results of the research which compares many children families from Poland and Ukraine. The minority of families are these with many children in both countries. Nowadays people are afraid of having a lot of children. It can result from the financial problems of the family. Very often people also perceive children as an obstacle to the self-realization. It seems that social perception of many children families creates the feeling of amazement and compassion rather than kindness. The results obtained in the research show that young people from Poland and Ukraine reinforce families with many children. In spite of the fact, there are differences in the way of perceiving many children families by students in Poland and Ukraine, namely Ukrainians are more optimistic in this matter than Poles. The results also indicate that there are various factors which influence on the difference of opinion including political and economic factors, religious, cultural, environmental and emotional factors. Nowadays, many children families need the great support from the society and the state. It is worth showing the advantages of large families which positively influence on the state. It is also important to pay attention on families with many children because this phenomenon is vulnerable to many threats.

    Stereotypy wywierają wpływ na funkcjonowanie grup stanowiących mniejszość. Dorośli klasyfikują osoby z niepełnosprawnościami jako oddzielną grupę, przypisując jej negatywne cechy, takie jak: bezradność, trudności z ekspresją emocji, zależność od innych czy izolowanie się. Powszechnie uważa się osoby z ograniczeniem sprawności jako nieszczęśliwe. Przeprowadzone przez autorkę badania na grupie uczniów klas szóstych mają odpowiedzieć na pytanie: Czy ten sposób postrzegania dotyczy również dzieci wchodzących w okres dojrzewania? Głównym problemem artykułu jest obraz osoby z niepełnosprawnością.
    The main issue of this article is the image of people with disabilities. Stereotypes have an impact on the functioning of minority groups. Adults classify people with disabilities as a separate group, assigning negative characteristics, such as helplessness, difficulty in expressing emotions, dependence on others, isolation. It is widely considered to be a person with a disability as unfortunate and disadvantaged. Research conducted by the author on a group of sixth grade students attempts to answer the question - Does this also applie to the perception of young people?
