    This study examined the travel behawior of commercial public transport passengers in Lagos State, Nigeria. The descriptive research survey was used in order to assess the opinions of the respondents using the questionnaire. A total of 84 samples were used as representative population, while two null hypotheses were formulated and tested using the Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient at 0.05 level of significant. The results that were obtained indicated that a positive correlation exists between frequency of travel and commuters income in Lagos Metropolis and also that a positive correlation exists between frequency of travel and distance covered by commuters in Lagos Metropolis. Secondary data was also sourced to serve as complement to the primary data, thus allowing for a robust research. Descriptive statistical tools such as percentages were also adopted to present the socio-economic characteristics in the area. Findings showed that about 57% of sampled population are male, 62 % are civil servants, 48% of respondents travel for business purposes. Also, that majority of the respondents (50%) said that the commercial public transport is highly prone to accident, while about 64% of the respondents commute on daily basis. It was established that lack of transport infrastructure coupled with poor road maintenance were seen as the leading causes of inaccessibility of the area.

    W artykule omówiono problemy dochodzenia przez pasażerów roszczeń z tytułu zryczałtowanych odszkodowań, przewidzianych rozporządzeniami unijnymi. Wskazano nieprawidłowości w procesie wyznaczania organów odpowiedzialnych za egzekucję przestrzegania przepisów ww. rozporządzeń. Jednocześnie zwrócono uwagę na problemy związane z dochodzeniem roszczeń z ww. tytułów zarówno przed odpowiednimi organami, jak i sądami. Problemy te wynikają z nieuwzględnienia w obowiązujących w Polsce procedurach sytuacji, w których kompetencja do rozstrzygania tej samej sprawy powierzona została różnym organom.
    The article discusses problems of recovery of claims in respect of lump-sum compensation for passengers provided by EU regulations. The authoress shows irregularities in the designation of administrative bodies responsible for enforcement of compliance with the provisions of the above regulations. She also points to problems that arise from the possibility of recovery of passengers claims before administrative bodies and courts at the same time. These problems result from the lack of provisions which regulate the situation when the competence to decide the same case was entrusted to different bodies.

    Digitisation of transport is a tool for achieving the European Union’s political goals included in the Digital Single Market Strategy for Europe. For rail transport, digital innovation is required to increase its competitiveness. One of the tools of the digital transformation of railways is 5G networks, the fifth generation of wireless communication systems. The purpose of this article is to present the benefits of implementing 5G network for railway operators. Focus was placed on its innovative features, such as ultra-fast access to Internet services, very high connection reliability, and extremely low data transmission delays. Examples of new services for railway operators based on the capabilities of 5G networks were presented. This article describes the unique functions of the 5G network in which resources can be flexibly allocated depending on current traffic needs thanks to the network slicing function, e.g., for services of key importance to rail traffic and commercial services for other market segments. Roadmap proposals for transforming the current rail communication network infrastructure towards the target FRMCS system are presented. The analysis was based on source materials from Nokia Corporation, available literature, EU documents and regulations, as well as institutional studies of the railway sector.

    Fear of the invisible enemy, as is commonly called bacteria and viruses that disturb or take away health, has accompanied mankind for thousands of years. The article presents cases of illness caused by a biological factor among passengers and crew members on ships. The author mentioned incidents that have occurred in the past. Above all, however, the author’s considerations focused on the current situation (Pandemic COVID-19) the threat of biological factor on vessels.
    Strach przed niewidzialnym wrogiem, jak zwykło się określać bakterie i wirusy nierzadko zaburzające lub zabierające zdrowie, towarzyszy ludzkości od tysięcy lat. W artykule przedstawiono przypadki zachorowań spowodowanych czynnikiem biologicznym wśród pasażerów i członków załóg na statkach. Wspomniano o incydentach, które miały miejsce w przeszłości. Wiodące rozważania Autora skupiły się na obecnej sytuacji (Pandemia COVID-19) zagrożenia czynnikiem biologicznym na jednostkach pływających.

    Opis:
    A methodology for the classification of railway passenger stations was developed in this study. Four groups of factors are defined to study the characteristics of the station: potential of the town, importance of the town, infrastructural factors, and characteristics of passengers. In the research we investigated 18 factors and studied 98 passenger stations of railway network in Bulgaria. The method of principal components has been applied for grouping the factors and cluster analysis has been applied to classify the stations. The factors have been classified into 4 components by the method of principal components. The stations have been classified into 6 groups using hierarchical cluster analysis. The methods, Average linkage between group and Within-groups linkage, and distance-type measures Euclidean distance and Squared Euclidean distance were compared to verify the results of cluster analysis. The grouping of the stations has been used for the determination of the stops for categories intercity passenger trains. The main groups of stations for servicing express trains are the first, second, third, fourth and fifth groups. In the sixth group are stations for servicing fast passenger trains. The methodology can be applied to the study of all stations and stops in the rail network.
    Dans cette étude est élaborée la méthodologie de classification des gares de passagers. On a déterminé 4 groupes de facteurs pour l’étude des caractéristiques des gares: le potentiel de la ville, importance de la ville, facteurs infrastructurels et caractéristiques des passagers.18 facteurs sont étudiés au total. On a étudié 98 gares de passagers du réseau de fer de la Bulgarie. On a appliqué les méthodes des composantes générales pour le groupement des facteurs et une analyse de cluster pour le classement des gares. D’après la méthode des composantes générales les facteurs sont classifiés en 4 groupes. D’après la méthode de l’analyse hiérarchique les gares sont classifiées en 6 groupes. Les méthodes de liaison moyenne entre le groupe et les intra-groupes de liaison et la distance de type Euclidienne au carré ont été comparées à la verification des résultats de l’analyse de cluster. Le groupement des gares est utilize pour déterminer les arrêts des cathégories des trains de passagers interurbains. Les groups de gares essentiels concernant le service des trains express sont premier, deuxième, troisième, quatrième et cinquième groupe. Le sixième groupe comprend les gares pour le service des TGV. La méthodologie peut être appliquée pour l’étude de toutes les gares et stations dans le réseau de chemin de fer.

    W artykule pokrótce przedstawiono modele manekinów zderzeniowych pieszych, dzieląc je na manekiny stosowane typowo na potrzeby projektowania pojazdów oraz stosowane w badaniach rekonstrukcyjnych wypadków drogowych. Przedstawiono wybrane badania z dziedziny rekonstrukcji wypadków drogowych, w których wykorzystywane były manekiny pieszych. W drugiej części artykułu przedstawiono konstrukcję manekina PRIMUS - produktu od niedawna dostępnego na rynku. Opisano budowę manekina i podsumowanie badań weryfikujących jego odpowiedź dynamiczną w warunkach potrącenia oraz wymieniono potencjalne jego zastosowania, takie jak rekonstrukcje wypadków i badania eksperymentalne na potrzeby przemysłu.
    The article presents various models of pedestrian crash test dummies, grouping them by their applicability: vehicle manufacture or road accident reconstruction. Selected experiments in the latter area using dummies of pedestrians are presented. The second part of the article is devoted to a description of a PRIMUS dummy - a relatively new product on the market. The structure of the dummy is presented, and studies verifying the dynamic response of the dummy in a collision with pedestrian are summarized. The application of the dummy in road accident reconstruction and R&D experiments are presented.

    W artykule przedstawiono rzadko spotykane w Polsce badanie ankietowe dotyczące opinii pasażerów komunikacji miejskiej o innych pasażerach. Badanie takie, zatytułowane „Pasażerowie o Pasażerach”, przeprowadziło w lipcu i sierpniu 2015 r Miejskie Przedsiębiorstwo Komunikacji w Łodzi. Opublikowanie wyników badań jest interesujące nie tylko ze względu na rzadkość takich badań. Dzięki wynikom mamy wiedzę o tym, w jaki sposób pasażerowie przeszkadzają sobie w podróży. Badanie pozwoli zarządowi spółki zaplanować działania, które pomogą pasażerom w osiągnięciu większego komfortu podróżowania. W artykule niektóre wyniki badań porównano z wynikami innych badań ankietowych, przeprowadzonych ze względu na konieczność sporządzenia planów transportowych w kilku miastach i powiatach w Polsce. Ponadto w syntetycznym ujęciu przedstawiono niektóre wyniki łódzkiej ankiety.
    In the paper a rare questionnaire survey on “Passengers about Passengers” was d escribed. The survey was carried out by City Public Transport Company in Łódź in July and August 2015. Publishing research results is interesting not only due to the rarity of such researches, but mainly it delivers the knowledge how passengers disturb themselves during the travel. The research will let the Company Management Board plan actions which will help passengers enjoy more comfort on the move. In the article some research results were compared with similar questionnaire survey results conducted fo r the purposes o f drawing up transport plans in few cities and districts in Poland. Moreover in the synthetic way some conclusions of the Łódź questionnaire form were presented.

    Opis:
    Modal split between individual automobile transport and public passenger transport represents a ratio to 70:30 for individual transport. Long-term trend in Slovak republic is decrease in the number of passenger using public passenger transport. One of the possible determinants of passenger demand is service quality. Information is one of the important quality criteria. Information systems in passenger transport companies and information systems for passengers can improve service quality and stimulate passenger demand. In the one way operator should identify the requirements of passengers and in the other way these requirements should be filled with the maximum possible levels. Quality criteria information and punctuality are closely related. Punctuality is important for management of the transport operations and for passenger within the meaning of information about accuracy timetable. Implementation of information systems for passengers and respect for the latest trends can increase the quality of public passenger transport services in the Slovak republic. Raise of customer satisfaction should be the goal of each company, to ensure the sustainability of demand for public transport services.
