    Opis:
    Among many valuable historical and cultural relics, ruined and abandoned buildings, not serving any purpose,deserve special attention. Buildings such as the Roman Coliseum, Athenian Acropolis, Ephesus ruins in Turkey or Pompey in Italy are so called "permanent ruins". Also in Poland there are many interesting objects viewed as permanent ruins which are more and more often visited by tourists, secured and maintained as a technical destruct. Among them are for example the castles of Cracow- Częstochowa Jura, a castle in Janowiec or in ZąbkowiceŚląskie. Remains of defensive walls of many Lower Silesia cities can also be counted in their number. They co-create in a picturesque way the landscape of the cities. And sometimes are dominants of such landscapes and their identifiers and discriminants.

    W pracy przedstawiono przyczyny powstawania destrukcji oraz analizę metod utrwalania koron murów obiektów historycznych przeznaczonych do ekspozycji w formie trwałej ruiny. Szczególną uwagę poświęcono zagadnieniom związanym ze strukturalnym wzmocnieniem kamiennych elementów murowych oraz chemicznej hydrofobizacji substancji historycznej. Szeroko omówiono badania materiałowe zapraw z domieszką żywic epoksydowych przeprowadzone Instytucie Budownictwa Politechniki Wrocławskiej pod kątem ich zastosowania w konserwacji obiektów historycznych muzeum Gross-Rosen. Zaprezentowano również rozwiązania polegające na utrwaleniu koron ruin z zastosowaniem elementów nowo projektowanych, pozostających w zgodzie z doktryną konserwatorską.
    The paper describes the causes of damage to and presents methods of fixing the crests of walls in historic building structures designated to be exhibited in the form of permanent ruins. Special attention is devoted to the problems involved in the structural upgrading of stone walls and in the chemical hydrophobization of the historic substance. Material tests on mortars with an addition of epoxy resins, to be used in the conservation of historic building structures (e.g. the Gross-Rosen Museum), carried out in the Institute of Building Engineering at Wrocław University of Technology, are extensively discussed. Also wall crest fixing solutions involving the use of newly designed components (consistent with the conservation doctrine) are presented.

    Opis:
    Aging of masonry objects results in deterioration of strength parameters and building and decorative value of stone. This slowly developing process can be modeled in laboratory, which makes possible direct observation of destructive impact of atmospheric pollution and salty water or acid rains in the course of artificial seasoning. The paper presents results of analysis of artificial aging of travertine under influence of frost, high temperature and crystallization of salt solutions. The tests were carried out on fresh samples of travertine collected in quarries at Raciszyn in Poland and Hierapolis in Turkey. Travertine extracted from in these quarries was used in the past and is still used as building and decorative stone in masonry works. Comparative method of detecting micro-structural metamorphose was performed with the application of microscopic analysis (SEM) and the strength and ultrasonic diagnostic analyses. The quantitative characteristics of deterioration state of travertine is described by the proposed deterioration index (I), based on nondestructive determination of wave propagation velocity in fresh rock sample (Vpo) and in the same sample under influence of sequential stages of modeled deterioration (Vpn) with respect to subsequent changes of compressive strength (Rc). According to test results, resistance of the Raciszyn travertines to frost, high temperature and crystallization of salt is about 2 times higher than in the case of those from Hierapolis.

    Opis:
    Accurate geometric data is the most important issue in the filed of safety evaluation and preservation of historical structures. Photogrammetry is successfully used to document historic buildings since many years. By the recent developments in the field of computer technology it is possible to create as built survey documentation in a very time efficient and accurate way. Traditionally total stations are used to record data of the structures and other techniques are close - range photogrammetry and laser scanning which are faster and precise methods. The aim of this study is to point out the importance of realistic geometric modeling of historic structures for evaluating the safety condition and to discuss data acquisition methods using in preservation of historical structures and stress particularly on the laser scanning technology.
    Dokładne dane geometryczne to najistotniejsza kwestia w dziedzinie oceny bezpieczeństwa i ochrony historycznych konstrukcji. Fotogrametrię od lat wykorzystuje się z sukcesem do dokumentowania historycznych budowli. Dzięki postępowi technologii komputerowej w ostatnich latach możliwe jest two- rzenie dokumentacji stanu faktycznego bardzo dokładnie i w stosunkowo krótkim czasie. Tradycyjnie do zapisywania danych konstrukcji stosuje się total stations, zaś inne technologie to fotogrametria bliskiego zasięgu i skanowanie laserowe, które są metodami szybszymi i dokładniejszymi. Celem niniejszego badania było wskazać znaczenie realistycznego modelowania historycznych konstrukcji dla oceny stanu bezpieczeństwa oraz omówić metody uzyskiwania danych używane w dziedzinie konserwacji historycznych budowli ze szczególnym naciskiem na technologię skanerów laserowych.

    Dostępne obecnie aplikacje graficzne i moc obliczeniowa komputerów pozwalają na tworzenie złożonych modeli oraz animacji komputerowych. Powyższe aplikacje znalazły szerokie zastosowanie m.in. w architekturze do wirtualnej rekonstrukcji obiektów historycznych. Na podstawie archiwalnych map i zdjęć, tworzone są komputerowe modele obiektów, które pozwalają na odtworzenie i zobrazowanie istniejącej kiedyś zabudowy. Modelowanie komputerowe umożliwia również w stosunkowo krótkim czasie na wielowariantową koncepcję rekonstrukcji obiektu, co jest nieodzownym elementem wyboru optymalnej wersji rzeczywistej rekonstrukcji. W artykule przedstawiono komputerowe wizualizacje zabudowy Dzielnicy Żydowskiej w Przemyślu. Na podstawie dostępnych archiwalnych map i zdjęć zlokalizowano oraz zwymiarowano przedwojenne obiekty wchodzące w skład zabudowy Dzielnicy Żydowskiej. Przy wykorzystaniu zaawansowanej aplikacji graficznej 3ds Max Studio zwizualizowana została zabudowa Dzielnicy Żydowskiej, w skład której wchodziły m.in. Synagoga Tempel, Stara Synagoga, Sąd Grodzki oraz liczne zespoły kamienic. W artykule przedstawiono utworzone modele wybranych obiektów, rekonstrukcję komputerową całej Dzielnicy Żydowskiej, jak również przykład współczesnej aranżacji przestrzennej rekonstruowanej dzielnicy.
    The currently available graphic applications and the computing power of the computers allow you to create complex models and computer animations. These applications are widely used, among others, in architecture for the reconstruction of historical buildings. On the basis of archival maps and images, the computer models of the buildings are created, which allow you to reconstruct and illustrate the once existing buildings. Computer modelling also enables, in a relatively short time, the multi-variant concept of the building reconstruction, what is an indispensable element of choosing the optimal version of the real reconstruction. The article presents the computer reconstruction of the buildings of the Jewish District in Przemyśl. On the basis of the available archival maps and photos it was possible to locate and dimension the pre-war buildings belonging to the buildings of the Jewish District. By using the advanced graphics application of 3ds Max Studio the buildings of the Jewish District were reconstructed, which included, among others, the Tempel Synagogue, the Old Synagogue, the Grodzki Court and numerous complexes of tenement houses. The article presents the created models of the selected objects, the computer reconstruction of the whole Jewish District, as well as the example of the modern spatial arrangement of the reconstructed district.

    The shotcrete technology has been known for over 100 years and is mainly used in the repair and renovation of reinforced concrete structures. The article presents two unique applications of colored shotcrete: the first one for the reconstruction of the historic façade of the railway flyover built at the beginning of the 20th century in Gorzów Wielkopolski, the second for the construction of a large-size curvilinear wall in the Polin Museum in Warsaw in recent years.
