    The aim of the paper is to present the Pakistani nuclear program in the context of Scott D. Sagan’s models describing the causes of nuclear weapons proliferation. The typology consists of three models: the security, the domestic policy, and the norms. The author claims that the Pakistani program would be the most adequately present using the security model. The program was a response to both conventional and nuclear threat from India, which has been in permanent conflict with Pakistan.

    Główną tezą artykułu jest to, że konflikt zbrojny z Iranem jest wysoce prawdopodobny, a działania militarne na mniejszą skalę, jak naloty bombowe lub ataki cybernetyczne są praktycznie nieuniknione. Jest to spowodowane strachem, który jest głęboko zakorzeniony w trudnej historii Iranu, oraz brakiem zaufania do organizacji międzynarodowych. Analizie poddano tło historyczne, od zdobycia władzy przez Reza Szah Pahlawiego w 1925 roku do czasów współczesnych, oraz cztery teorie o stosunkach międzynarodowych: ofensywny i defensywny realizm, neoliberalny instytucjonalizm i konstruktywizm. Każda z teorii pomaga w zrozumieniu zachowania poszczególnych państw i jest związana z możliwym rozwiązaniem dyplomatycznego konfliktu nad programem nuklearnym państwa perskiego oraz wspieraniem organizacji terrorystycznych przez Teheran. Artykuł ukazuje logikę każdego z możliwych rozwiązań oraz ich mocne i słabe strony.
    This essay argues that an armed conflict in Iran is highly probable and smaller military actions like air strikes or cyber attacks are practically inevitable. It is due to Iran’s fear rooted in a complicated history and its distrust towards international organizations. This analysis is based on historical background, from the rise to power by Reza Shah Pahlavi in 1925 to modern Iran, and four international relations theories: offensive and defensive realism, neoliberal institutionalism, and constructivism. Each theory helps to explain actors’ behavior and is associated with a possible solution to the diplomatic conflict over Iran’s nuclear program and its support for terrorist organizations. This essay shows the reasoning behind each of the solutions, as well as their strengths and weaknesses.

    From global point of view, there is certainly no shortage of academic contributions, professional scientific analyses or journalistic articles focused on Brazil and its nuclear program. However, such an assertion cannot be used when discussing Central European knowledge of Brazil’s nuclear program and security ambitions. Considered all above, this article aims to bring closer the current South-American leader to readers in our region and briefly introduce them to its nuclear program, influence it has on forming Brazil’s foreign security policy and projection of the country internationally.
    Z globalnego punktu widzenia z pewnością nie brakuje prac naukowych, profe-sjonalnych analiz naukowych czy artykułów dziennikarskich poświęconych Brazylii i jej programowi jądrowemu. Twierdzenia takiego nie można jednak wykorzystać przy omawianiu środkowoeuropejskiej wiedzy o programie nuklearnym Brazylii i ambicjach w zakresie bezpieczeństwa. Rozważając powyższe, niniejszy artykuł ma na celu przybliżenie aktualnego przywódcy Ameryki Południowej dla czytelników w naszym regionie i krótko przedstawić je programowi jądrowemu, wpłynąć na kształtowanie zagranicznej polityki bezpieczeństwa. Brazylii i projekcję kraju na arenie międzynarodowej.

    Opis:
    The U.S. relations to Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) are since the end of the Cold War revolving around achieving a state of nuclear free Korean peninsula. As non-proliferation is a long term of American foreign policy, relations to North Korea could be categorized primarily under this umbrella. However, the issue of North Korean political system also plays role as it belongs to the other important, more normative category of U.S. foreign policy which is the protection of human rights and spreading of democracy and liberal values. In addition, the North Korean issue influences U.S. relations and interests in broader region of Northeast Asia, its bilateral alliances with South Korea (Republic of Korea, ROK) and Japan as well as sensitive and complex relations to People’s Republic of China. As the current administration of president Donald J. Trump published its National security strategy and was fully occupied with the situation on Korean peninsula in its first year, the aim of the paper is to analyse the changes in evolution of U.S. North Korean policy under last three administrations, look at the different strategies adopted in order to achieve the same aim, the denuclearization. The paper does not provide a thorough analysis, neither looks at all documents adopted and presented in the U.S. or within the U.N. It more focuses on the general principles of particular strategies, most significant events in mutual relations as recorded by involved governmental officials and also weaknesses of these strategies as none has achieved desirable result. In conclusion, several options for current administration are drawn, however all of them require significant compromises and could be accompanied with series of setbacks dangerous for regional stability and U.S. position in the region.
