    The article discusses the issues related to the participatory Technology Assessment (pTA). The author highlights that in order to conduct pTA one not only needs to be convinced that there is a point in this activity, but also should have techniques and tools that convert ideas into effective social actions. The article reviews most important experiences with the application of different methods designed to take into account knowledge, perspectives and interests of a broader array of stakeholders or members of general public in the political discussion on potential employment of new technologies, such as consensus conferences, citizens juries, and scenario workshops. Strengths, weaknesses and expected outcomes of the chosen methods are characterized on the basis of specific examples described in academic and professional literature.

    On one hand, Israel is a leader in the field of high-tech industry, but on the other, it remains a country focused on traditions. In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) is one of the most common treatments among many possibilities which were created in the field of assisted reproductive technology (ART). Indeed, the number of Jewish women as intensive consumers of IVF has increased in the past few years. Due to the great importance of motherhood and raising families in Jewish tradition, Israel strongly supports health care procedures assisting Jewish adults in becoming parents. There is no doubt that for Jews life is the most precious value in its religious and political meaning, however, they are quite flexible in accommodating modern technologies in order to serve life. The State has historically focused on increasing birthrates and nowadays a woman’s biological clock is an important element not only in the context of matrilineal descent and for the answer to the question of Jews identity but it is also intervening as a part of the reproductive industry.

    Modern technologies whose development defines the beginning of the twenty-first century information civilization create entirely new possibilities for organizing and delivering educational processes. Thanks to them an opportunity for education opens up, which is a move away from the narrowly conceived encyclopaedism in education to independent work, revealing activities, and sometimes creativity. The paper will consider the benefits that can be associated with the use of IT in teaching on the one hand understood as a set of devices, on the other as education software packages. At the same time features which entails risks for the organization of teaching and learning processes as well as for themselves educated will be indicated.

    Author analyses the use of new technologies by the pedagogy students from the generation of digital natives focusing on using the functions of mobile electronic devices and basic functions of Internet. Data has been collected with Google Forms. They allow to collect the data very quick, to see the responses immediately and to export the data to a spreadsheet. The aim of the study is to determine the level of student’s competence on the chosen field of information technology. Research shows that students have lower skills than they declare. Author advocates that this situation needs to be improved.

    New technologies have thoroughly penetrated into our everyday life, affecting leisure, interpersonal relationships, science or business. Many permanent and radical changes in the labour market have been experimented in the last twenty five years which have transformed work organization, management processes, personnel policies, as well as the workplace design. Nevertheless, new technologies not only offer revolutionary, but also pose some serious problems. An effort is needed to understand the future technology trends and develop strategies to support the changes in the labor market.
    Nowe technologie przeniknęły do naszego codziennego życia, wpływając na czas wolny, relacje międzyludzkie, naukę czy biznes. W ciągu ostatnich dwudziestu pięciu lat nastąpiło wiele trwałych i radykalnych przemian na rynku pracy, które zmieniły organizację pracy, procesy zarządzania, politykę personalną, a także kształt miejsca pracy. Niemniej jednak nowe technologie nie tylko oferują rewolucyjne rozwiązania, ale także stwarzają pewne poważne problemy. Konieczne jest podjęcie wysiłku, aby zrozumieć przyszłe trendy technologiczne i opracować strategie wspierające zmiany na rynku pracy.

    Effective technology transfer can be a source of sustainable competitive advantage and thus is key for economic growth. The aim of the guide is to shed light on the area with big potential and still few success stories in Poland – bringing scientific discoveries to the market at large profit. In most cases of new discoveries patenting is the best way of protecting intellectual property (IP); however there are exceptions from this rule. A new patented technology can be commercialized in three ways: a) selling/assigning ownership to the third party; b) licensing and c) via a start-up company owning the technology (spin-off). First option is the fastest, but usually gives the least reward. Breakthrough technologies can be a foundation of great companies, the shares of which can get very valuable quickly. How much of the company’s shares belong to the inventor depends on technology’s value (measured by ability to generate cash) and scale of investments needed to build the company. There is capital available for spin-off with viable technologies, both from public and private sources. Choosing the right one depends on the phase of company development and its needs. Early stage enterprises should seek partners among seed funds that have specific know-how of building new companies and can properly complement the competence of the inventor. Business Angel Seedfund is focused on investment in Poland-based projects from biotech and ICT industries.

Również proces i skala transferu nowoczesnych technologii ma zróżnicowany charakter. Stosowane są różne kanały i formy w tym zakresie, co komplikuje kwestie ochrony własności intelektualnej. Problem ochrony własności intelektualnej jest obecnie złożony, wieloaspektowy, zwłaszcza w kontekście wszechstronnego wykorzystywania mediów elektronicznych. Wymaga to odpowiednich regulacji prawnych i właściwego ukierunkowania działań edukacyjnych firm. Celem artykułu jest analiza wybranych aspektów ochrony własności intelektualnej w innowacyjnych przedsiębiorstwach. Zdaniem autora obecnie zasadniczy wpływ na zachowania ludzi wywierają współczesne media. Potrzeba dobrego rozeznania źródeł, z których korzystają media, zwłaszcza elektroniczne, w zakresie nowych technologii. Jest to szczególnie istotne dla przedsiębiorstw nastawionych na rozwój działań B+R i przestrzeganie w tym kontekście odpowiednich przepisów o ochronie własności intelektualnej.
    The basic aspects of modernizing the economy and meeting competition in the global market include innovation (modernity) in the creation and functioning of enterprises, the creation and implementation of new technologies in production and services, and increasing the knowledge of employees. Polish enterprises differ in their approaches and skills in creating and acquiring new technologies and their implementation. The process and scale of the transfer of modern technologies is also varied. Various channels and forms are used in this regard, which complicates the protection of intellectual property. Thus, the problem of intellectual property protection is currently complex and multi-faceted, especially in the context of the comprehensive use of electronic media. This requires appropriate legal regulations and the appropriate targeting of educational activities of companies. The aim of this article is to analyse selected aspects of intellectual property protection in innovative enterprises. According to the author, modern media currently exerts a major influence people’s behaviour. Hence the need for a good understanding of the sources used by the media, especially electronic media, in field of new technologies. It is especially important for enterprises focused on the development of R&D activities to be compliant with the relevant regulations protecting intellectual property.
