    In business operations of enterprises operating a sales network, particular importance is given to appropriately planned and properly implemented activities that enable the flow of goods as well as the accompanying information. This flow can be ensured only by the logistic system designed in the right way. Each company selling products using sales network has its own individual logistics system. The proper functioning of this system allows the company to fulfill all the tasks and goals that are set before logistics. The article illustrates the functioning of the logistics system in the sales network, and also presents the organization of logistic processes on the example of the chosen network.

    Distribution logistics plays an important role in the proper functioning of the company. It is particularly important in manufacturing companies that sell their products in their showrooms. Many of these types of companies see the opportunity to improve the efficiency of their operations in properly organized activities in the field of distribution logistics. However, this requires proper management of distribution processes. A choice should be made between direct and indirect distribution, in the case of the latter, also specify the number of intermediary links and select the sales agents accordingly. With this in mind, the considerations taken up in the article were devoted to the problems of managing distribution processes in the sales network on the example of a selected enterprise.

    This paper presents a predicted target architecture of an integrated manufacturing and management system, based on a metropolitan-type intranet and an industrial process control and monitoring network. Such systems are urgently required by prospective users, especially large-scale manufacturing enterprises. Nevertheless, neither big manufacturers of computer integrated manufacturing systems nor big manufacturers of computer integrated systems are willing to develop combined computer integrated manufacturing and management systems. To evaluate performance, a method developed for packet switching networks with end-to-end acknowledgement was applied. The paper describes the investigations carried out for the case study. Some consideration is given to the performance evaluation accuracy, based on the validation work results obtained from analytical work, simulation and measurements on the Polish pilot wide area network.

    The specificity of the operation profile of high-tech companies, including the necessity of operating at the international scale may account for the fact that these companies may find in network relationships, business networks and cooperation an essential determinant for growth and competitiveness. Foreign entities should be especially interesting business partners for hightech companies, as they are often seen as representing more advanced knowledge, resources and experience. The aim of the article is to point out to global business networks (i.e. including both local and foreign entities), and especially to cooperation within supply chain, as an important basis for a growth strategy of a high-tech company. The article adopts assumptions of the network approach as a concept of companies cooperation. An analysis of the author’s own as well as secondary empirical research, with the focus on hightech companies located in Poland is presented. In particular, the data from own research of 62 high-tech companies in Poland conducted in the first half of 2011 is analysed. It shows that the high-tech companies placing great importance on cooperation within supply chain demonstrate a higher growth and level of competitiveness than the companies which do not ascribe such importance (bearing in mind that supply chain forms an important part of a business network).

    The Baltic Sea basin is analyzed and Baltic Sea main geographical and climatological parameters are presented. The Baltic Sea environmental impacts of human activity and the ways of their consequences protection are discussed. The set of critical infrastructure networks at Baltic Sea and its seaside is identified and critical infrastructures and their operation environment methodology is introduced. The integrated management system of safety and security of Baltic Sea area critical infrastructure networks is proposed as a new research project continuing HAZAD project subjects and its core aims and description are presented. The project research team conception is created and partner cooperation added values are addressed. Seven main steps of project implementation are suggested. Moreover, the appropriate and wide references are given.

    Rewolucja informacyjna oraz nasilające się problemy globalne oddziałują w coraz bardziej znaczący sposób na wszystkie dziedziny życia współczesnego człowieka. Rozwój nauki oraz komputeryzacja spowodowały, że architekt dysponuje ogromnym wachlarzem oprogramowania komputerowego i narzędzi wspomagających proces projektowy. Nadrzędnym jednak czynnikiem jest zarządzająca struktura porządkująca proces, ułatwiająca decyzję oraz użycie konkretnego narzędzia w danym momencie procesu projektowego. W artykule podjęto próbę opisania oraz metodologii działania w celu stworzenia narzędzia optymalizującego, zarządzającego procesem projektowym.
    The informatics revolution and growing global issues are increasing affecting all areas of modern life. This makes the requirements for the land management, housing as well as services grow. Architecture as the art and science of creating spaces, which has a considerable impact on society, has to face these challenges. The development of science and technology provided architects with a huge range of computer software and tools supporting the design process. However, the primary factor is the organizational structure ordering the creation process, which facilitates the decision-making process and the use of specific tools at the particular stage of project development. This paper attempts to describe the methodology and steps in the development of a tool for optimization, managing the design process.
