    Celem artykułu jest analiza wizerunku nauczycieli prezentowanego na stronach internetowych szkół średnich zrzeszonych w Stowarzyszeniu na rzecz Najstarszych Szkół w Polsce. Przeanalizowanie dziesięciu stron internetowych szkół pod kątem prezentacji kadry pedagogicznej pozwala stwierdzić, że wirtualna przestrzeń szkoły stanowi niewykorzystany obszar w zakresie ukazywania potencjału merytoryczno- -dydaktycznego nauczycieli. O wizerunek na szkolnej stronie internetowej powinno dbać całego grono pedagogiczne poprzez opracowanie spójnej koncepcji, która ukazałaby nie tylko wykształcenie, dodatkowe kwalifikacje, ale i zainteresowania, pasje nauczycieli.
    The purpose of the article is analising image of teachers presented on the websites of secondary schools associated in the Association for the Oldest Schools in Poland. The analysis of ten schools’ websites in terms of the presentation of teaching staff shows that the virtual space of the school is an unused area in terms of showing the substantive and didactic potential of teachers. The entire educational staff should take care of the image on the school website by developing a coherent concept that would show not only education, additional qualifications but also interests, passions of teachers.

    Opis:
    The author introduces one possible option for the analysis of the textbooks. It introduces an analysis of those teaching methods used in four textbooks. The presentation is focused on the evaluation of two parallel mathematical textbooks for secondary schools of four different publishers by two publishers Didaktis and Prometheus. It evaluates and compares the textbooks. The aim of this evaluation is to help teachers with the selection of the most suitable textbook for teaching purposes.

    Opis:
    In the Polish (upper)secondary schools the wide range of textbooks of English is used. That is the teacher who chooses the textbook that will be used on his/her lessons. The textbooks of English available on the Polish market are well prepared from the point of view ofmethodologyand are very attractive from the visual point of view. However, because of the fact the students are not homogeneous, there arises the question if the glottodidactic material chosen by the teacher is really effective or effective in the same way in case of all the students in one class of English. The aim of the following article is to show the results of an eye-tracking researchconducted on the group of (upper)secondary school students. The presentation of the results is preceded by a short characteristics of contemporary (upper)secondary school textbooks of English and a short introduction into a problem of dyslexia.

    Opis:
    On the basis of rich and well-preserved manuscripts from the State Archives in Lublin the teaching staff of the Regional (Governmental) Secondary School in Lublin in the years of 1832-1864 have been characterised. It has been stated that the inter-rising period 94 persons were teachers in the school. 54 of them were prepared for teaching at national and foreign universities; 19 were graduates of Warsaw University, i.e. 22.09% of the staff with university diplomas. As tsarism put into practice its policy of Russification, more and more graduates from the universities of the Russian Empire arrived at the Lublin Secondary School, One can see at the turn of the 1840s and 1850s. In a group of 26 persons dominated mainly graduates of Moscow and Sanct Petersburg Universities, hence 30.23% of the staff were lecturers from Russia, including distant universities in Charków i Dorpat. Those graduates obtained their diplomas from Moscow, Sanct Petersburg, Charków, and Dorpat. Let us stress firmly that 85% of them were Poles, and only 5% indigenous Russians. The staff of the Lublin Secondary School was also composed of lecturers from Prussian universities in Berlin, Królewiec, Wrocław, and Frankfurt, the universities in the Austrian Empire (Vienna, Lvov), and the Free Town of Kraków. The remaining teachers of the Secondary School (25.58%) had qualifications from the Pedagogic Institutes and Courses, 11.62% of them from Theological Seminaries and Academies, whereas 12.79% were graduates of secondary schools. Being appointed, the teachers had to take an oath of loyalty towards the monarch and sign it personally. This closed the stage of accepting a candidate to work and opened for him an opportunity to work as a teacher.
