    This paper presents data on the occurrence of lichens in xerothermic grasslands, representing a great mycological peculiarity of the NW part of Pomerania, Poland. The 12 examined specimens of six species originated from fieldwork carried out in 2011–2014 in the nature reserves Brodogóry, Stary Przylep, Bielinek, Wrzosowiska Cedyńskie, Prof. Adam Wodziczko Nature Reserve in the Wolin National Park, and an old chalk excavation site on Wolin Island. Within the study sites, four lichen species were recorded as a new to Western Pomerania: Agonimia gelatinosa, Collema cristatum, Dermatocarpon luridum, and Leptogium subtile. The other two species, Collema auriforme and C. flaccidum, are rarely observed in the studied region.

    This is the fi rst study on the woodlouse fauna of from 5 nature reserves in the Mazowian Lowland (Bukowiec Jabłonowski, Mosty Kalińskie, Łosiowe Błota, Jezioro Kiełpińskie, Klimonty) and from 2 nature reserves in the Pomeranian Lake District (Ustronie, Dolina Huczka) are presented. A total of 8 species of woodlice were found. The number of collected species ranged from 1 (Dolina Chuczka, Mosty Kalińskie, Klimonty) to 5 (Łosiowe Błota). The most common species in the all studied reserves was Trachelipus rathkii.

    Opis:
    The paper presents the 2001 questionnaire survey data concerning the financial aspects of protection of nature reserves located in the territory administered by the „State Forests” National Forest Holding. As shown in the specification of direct costs (i.a. treatment execution costs) and indirect costs (i.a. part of SF staff remunerations for their participation in decision−making, conservation and execution of protective tasks in reserve area) the financial contribution incurred by the State Forests for the maintenance and conducting of this form of nature protection proved to be substantial.

    Opis:
    Results of supplementary hydrogeochemical analyses, conducted in the Kampinos National Park (KPN), its buffer zone and in the reserve “Bielany Forest” (“Las Bielański”) allowed revising the location of monitoring points and proposing a basic set of analyses of quality, ground-water level. This set includes measurements of physical-chemical parameters enabling to assess water quality and to define causes and consequences of groundwater chemical composition changes. Analyses of the water level monitoring results and selected hydrogeochemical indicators allows for assessment at antopopressure intensity. The survey results led to suggesting necessary range of physical-chemical tests and frequency of monitoring in affected areas under different antropopressure level.

    The paper presents questionnaire survey data carried out in the years 2002−2003 concerning the way and level of utilisation of nature reserves located in the territory administered by the „State Forests” National Forest Holding. It has been demonstrated that there is high social interest in this form of nature conservation particularly in connection with conducting scientific research and tourist use of these natural objects.

    Opis:
    A composition of snail fauna in a functional coal-ash settling basin has been compared to that of a partly reclaimed coal-ash settling basin which had been abandoned for 26 years, using a nature reserve as a control. A total of 24 molluscan species were found at the control site, 21 species in the internal area of the abandoned settling basin and six species in the internal area of the functional settling basin. Numerous and relatively diverse malacofauna have become established on the abandoned coal ash settling basin, consisting mainly of high populations of a low number of widespread species.
