W artykule przedstawiono ocenę możliwości modelowania procesów logistycznych w systemie symulacyjnym JTLS, nowoczesnym narzędziu wspomagającym proces szkolenia dowództw i sztabów w ćwiczeniach wspomaganych komputerowo, z uwzględnieniem różnic między rozwiązaniami zastosowanymi w systemie a normami obowiązującymi w realnym środowisku pola walki. Przybliżenie powyższej problematyki w ćwiczeniach umożliwia zrozumienie złożoności przedsięwzięć zabezpieczenia logistycznego, a także wyjaśnia wiele kwestii w zakresie przygotowania bazy danych do ćwiczenia. Przeprowadzone badania potwierdziły, że zastosowanie symulacji komputerowej w modelowaniu logistyki w ćwiczeniach wspomaganych komputerowo ma wiele zalet. Największą z nich jest to, że w wojsku wzrasta zapotrzebowanie na zaawansowane technologie teleinformatyczne, wspomagające realizację procesów logistycznych, ponieważ siły zbrojne zainteresowane są optymalnym wykorzystywaniem posiadanych zasobów logistycznych, a jednocześnie ograniczaniem kosztów szkolenia dowództw i sztabów dla osiągnięcia maksymalnych korzyści. Wyniki badań potwierdzają, że model logistyczny systemu JTLS w pełni odpowiada potrzebom naszej armii w organizacji ćwiczeń wspomaganych komputerowo.
The article presents an assessment of the possibility of logistics modelling processes in the JTLS simulation system, a modern tool to support the commands and staffs training process in computer-assisted exercises, taking into account differences between the solutions applied in the system and standards applicable in the real environment of the battlefield. Description of those problems in the exercises enables understanding of the complexity of logistic projects, and also explains many of the issues concerning the preparation of the database for the exercise. The study confirmed that the use of computer simulation for logistics modelling in computer-aided exercises has many advantages. The biggest of them is that the army is increasing demand for advanced ICT, supporting the implementation of logistics processes, because the armed forces are interested in the optimal use of resources logistics, and at the same time limiting the cost of training commands and staffs to achieve the maximum benefit. The results confirm that the logistic model system in JTLS fully meets the needs of our army in the organization of computer-assisted exercises.

There has been designed a device for verticalization and aiding the gait of individuals suffering from paresis of the lower limbs. It can be counted in the category of so-called “wearable robots”, whose task is to replace or aid human limbs. Dependently on the function realized, these robots are classified into one of the following three groups: a) exoskeletons - strengthening the force of human muscles beyond their natural abilities, b) orthotic robots - restoring lost or weakened functions of human limbs, c) prosthetic robots - replacing an amputated limb. A significant feature of the device that has been designed is the fact that it has not to replace human limbs, but only restore them to their lost motor capabilities. Thus, according to the presented classification, it is an orthotic robot. Unlike in the case of the existing systems for verticalization, the gait is to be realized in a way that is automatic to the highest possible extent, keeping the user involved as little as possible, and the device is to imitate the natural movements of man with the highest fidelity. Within the works on the system for verticalization and aiding the motion, a simulation model of the device was created. It includes a structure of the robot, a model of the actuators and a model of the human body that constitutes the load for the driving units. Then, simulation studies were carried out, including evaluation of the power demand of the device as well as the influence of the gait rate and of the length of the steps on the operation of the system.

In this paper possibilities of NX system as CAD/CAM/CAE software are presented. Geometry and kinematics modelling process of 4-axial vertical CNC machine centre is described. It was carried out with use Machine Tool Builder Software in NX system. Simulation and verification of the correctness of movements were carried out on this model.

Praca przedstawia problematykę zarządzania ryzykiem projektu ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem fazy analizy ryzyka. W pracy przedstawiono autorskie podejście do oceny ilościowej ryzyka. Analiza i kwantyfikacja ryzyka przeprowadzona została z wykorzystaniem modelowania rozmytego w środowisku MATLAB oraz modelowania i symulacji komputerowej w środowisku ADONIS. Przedstawiono przykład kwantyfikacji i hierarchizacji ryzyka na przykładzie rzeczywistego projektu realizowanego w branży energetycznej z wykorzystaniem Rozmytych Systemów Wnioskujących. W przedstawionym przykładzie pokazano wykorzystanie symulacji w programie ADONIS w celu oszacowania wpływu ryzyk na czas i koszt projektu. W pracy nie analizowano wpływu ryzyka na pozostałe cele projektu, tj. zakres, jakość.
The paper presents the problem of project risk management with particular emphasis on the risk assessment. The authors describe own approach to quantitative risk assessment. The proposed approach combine fuzzy modeling in MATLAB environments and modeling in ADONIS environment. The proposed approach has been applied for quantification and prioritization of project risk. An practical example of project has been presented in a chosen enterprise from energy industry. The sources of data used in the example were collected from interview surveys with project experts. Fuzzy Inference Systems are used to identify and assess potential risks. The risks were modelling in ADONIS. The authors used simulation in this system to assess the impact of risks on time and cost of the project. The author did not assess the impact of project risk on the another project aims, ie. scope and quality.

As the competition among international container terminals has become increasingly fierce, every port is striving to maintain the competitive edge and provide satisfactory services to port users. By virtue of information technology enhancement, many efforts to raise port competitiveness through an advanced operation system are actively being made, and judging from the viewpoint of investment effect, these efforts are more preferable than infrastructure expansion and additional equipment acquisition. Based on simulation, this study has tried to prove that RFID-based real-time location system (RTLS) data collection and dynamic operation of transfer equipment brings a positive effect on the productivity improvement and resource utilization enhancement. Moreover, this study on the demand for the real-time data for container terminal operation have been made, and operation processes have been redesigned along with the collection of related data, and based on them, simulations have been conducted. As a result of them, much higher productivity improvement could be expected.

In this work project and implementation of software simulator of client-server system is presented. Selected characteristics of such system are discussed. Every elements of client-server model are defined. Possibilities of simulator from the system efficiency point of view are presented. Many characteristics which can be obtained during simulation experiments of client-server exploitation are shown.

The real operation and maintenance processes of technical objects are characterised by so called secondary action, it means that the values of the features describing the process states and the analysed operation and maintenance states of technical objects as well as the after-effect ofthose states depend not only on their present state, but very often on the state or sequence of the previous states, too. In spite of the fact that the mathematical models of the real processes are intrinsically a significant simplification of the actual state, it however seems that omission of a secondary action in a certain class of operation and maintenance processes is an excessive simplification and the results obtained from investigations of models of that type may be affected by a significant error. The paper presents a model of operation and maintenance process of means of transport characterised by a secondary action as well as an example of computer simulation of performance of a stochastic process describing the features of the operation and maintenance process under analysis. The elaborated model of operation and maintenance process of technical objects takes into account the specificity of the systems of the urban bus transport. The computer simulation of the maintenance process enables, among other things, to estimate the values of the chosen indicators characterising the investigated process. On the basis of the analysis of the statistical data, obtained from the operation and maintenance investigations, the values of the essential input parameters of the model were estimated. The considerations presented in the paper include an assumption that it is possible to distinguish n disjoint subsets ofhomogenous objects, from the point of view of the investigation purpose, in the set of the technical objects being operated and maintained in the system under analysis. The investigation object is a system of operation and maintenance of means of transport.

The aim of this paper is to present the concept of the supply chain resilience assessment in the case of disruptive events occurrence. Firstly, the methods for modelling uncertainty in terms of their application to assess this type of risk will be discussed, and then the concept of a fuzzy logic expert model enabling a quantitative assessment of supply chain resilience will be presented. Finally the structure of the simulation model has been proposed, which consists of the partial resilience models, namely: security, survivability and recovery ones. In the course of the simulation process, it is possible to identify the rules involved in system output as well as changes in resilience level which account for changes in inputs values.

This paper is about computer modelling of a four-stroke spark-ignition engine with a dual-injector system. Using a KIVA-3V program for Linux, computer simulations were performed for one of the cylinders fuelled by multipoint injection and by the dual-injector system, i. e. with direct injection into the cylinders on top of MPI. The modelling was done for a combustion engine Toyota 2SZ-FE with a dual-injector system. Both simulations were done for the same parameters of engine's work, i.e. at the same RPM of 2000 and the intake pipe pressure of 0.079 MPa. KIVA-3V program models the processes taking place in an internat combustion engine while taking into account physical and chemical phenomena occurring during the formation of a charge and during its combustion. Using a stochastic model of injection the program takes into account the movement of droplets and their dispersion. The results of the simulation show that the dual-injector system has an improved volumetric coefficient, i.e. improved engine performance. An increase in the engine's indicated pressure was also observed; this increases the engine's total efficiency. The intensification of the charge's angular momentum in a cylinder with a dual-injector system can explain the improvements in the course of combustion process. Because the air-fuel mixture was already partially formed in the engine there was a small increase in the unburned hydrocarbons in the cylinder. However, a marked drop in the carbon monoxide and nitric oxide were observed for the dual-injector system. Analyzing the overall results of the simulations one can ascertain a positive impact of using a dual-injector system on the working parameters of a spark-ignition engine.

This study presents a thermodynamic Aspen simulation model for Solid Oxide Fuel Cells, SOFCs, based power generation system. In the first step, a steady-state SOFCs system model was developed. The model includes the electrochemistry and the diffusion phenomena. The electrochemical model gives good agreement with experimental data in a wide operating range. Then, a parametric study has been conducted to estimate effects of the oxygen to carbon ratio, O/C, on reformer temperature, fuel cell temperature, fuel utilization, overall fuel cell performance, and the results are discussed in this paper. In the second step, a dynamic analysis of SOFCs characteristic has been developed. The aim of dynamic modelling was to find the response of the system against the fuel utilization and the O/C ratio variations. From the simulations, it was concluded that both developed models in the steady and dynamic state were reasonably accurate and can be used for system level optimization studies of the SOFC based power generation system.

Opis:
Modern light rail vehicles, such as a tram or rail bus, due to the need to provide mobility for the elderly or disabled people and the requirements of operators operating passenger rail transport or transport in urban areas must have a 100% low floor. Structurally, this is associated with the use of wheelset with independently rotating wheels (IRW) in such vehicles. It is also possible to use a bogie structure without the use of a wheelset axle by mounting the wheels directly in the side parts of the bogie frame. This construction is more complex and will not be discussed in this article. Bearing in mind the dynamic behavior of such vehicles during operation (lateral stability, profile wear) in various driving conditions (curve traffic, crossovers) and taking into account operating costs, it becomes necessary to install wheel rotation control systems to maintain center movement mass of the wheelset around the centerline of the track. The subject of the article will be considerations on modeling and simulation of rail vehicle bogie motion with IRW sets including the wheel control system. Nominal and mathematical models of the analyzed vehicle will be presented, as well as a controlled strategy based on the comparison of the angular velocities of the wheels of the wheelset A review of works on solutions of such systems will be presented, and a control concept will be proposed. The summary contains conclusions regarding the possibility of practical use of the proposed method of steering wheels of a wheelset in the case of independently rotating wheels.

The paper presents analysis of fuelling and of the course of combustion process for a two-cycle engine. The main idea of the engine according to patent solution of Prof. B. Sendyka consists in the fact that engine work begins from spark ignition, whereas, at higher load and higher temperature in the cooling system there occurs switching off spark ignition and transition to ignition from an ignition dose injected directly into the combustion chamber. Such an engine possesses two injection systems: one system of multi-point injection which forms homogenous mixture, whereas, the other system of direct injection is used for ignition dose injection only. After injection of the ignition dose of a very small mass combustion is initiated on the basis of formation of auto-ignition centres so as it takes place during knock combustion. Auto-ignition centres initiate combustion of the basic charge. Simulation was carried out in order to perform analysis occurring phenomena of fuel feeding and combustion. Works on it started from elaboration of a computational grid of the engine and subsequently analysis of indicated diagrams of engine work with injection of ignition dose was performed. Analysis was also performed of temperature traces and of traces of charge mass change in the cylinder as well as of participation of the mass of basic fuel dose in the cylinder in function of the crank angle. Moreover visualization of effects of the process of mixture formation and combustion was performed and presented in form of illustrations of charge temperature distribution, fraction of fuel ignition and basic dose vapours in cross-sections of the combustion chamber.
