Opis:
The paper presents the process of pre-expanded polystyrene used to produce models in the Lost Technology. There were research on pre-expansion process in order to determine the effect of pressure and time for the initial expansion of the materials density. Analysis of the results confirmed that the higher the pre-expansion pressure is the materials density decreases. There was also a change in the intensity of the process in function of time and pressure, which may indicate the phenomena of material physical and chemical properties during the process.

Opis:
Disposable foundry models constitute an increasingly important role in a unitary large-size foundry. These models have many benefits, but technologies using such materials require an understanding of degradation kinetics at the time of filling. The studies presented in the article determine the size of the polystyrene combustion products used for disposable foundry models. The results were obtained by carrying out the combustion process of the polystyrene model in a special combustion chamber, in different configurations. The pressures generated during thermal degradation vary depending on process parameters such as model density or the use of an additional adhesive binder. The results of laboratory tests may suggest what values of pressure are generated when filling in full-mold and lost foam technologies. The studies provide a prelude to further analysis of materials used for disposable foundry models and quantitative evaluation of their thermal degradation products for computer simulation.

Opis:
The paper discusses the issues related to the Replicast CS technology. The research concerning the indication of the bending strength of ceramic moulds depending on the type and configuration of the shells will determine the effect of the type of binder and powder on the mechanical properties of shell moulds. The experimental studies presented in the paper include the manufacture of polystyrene models, followed by the application of 6 layers of ceramic coatings of different types and configurations on sets of polystyrene and wax models. Next, the studies test the bending strength of the obtained samples of ceramic moulds, depending on the type and configuration of the coatings. The presented research has shown the relationship between the different configurations of the materials used for the manufacture of ceramic coatings and their bending strength. It has been shown that, by the appropriate selection of the ceramic coatings, it is possible to obtain ceramic moulds with a possibly high bending strength.
