Badanie objęłocztery główne kategorie przedsiębiorstw, tj. posiadające mobilne strony internetowe, realizujące projektwdrożenia tego typu rozwiązania, planujące rozpocząć takie przedsięwzięcie oraz niezakładające podjęciatego typu działań. Następnie przestawiono otrzymane wyniki badań pilotażowych oraz dokonano ichanalizy. Artykuł wieńczą wnioski dotyczące poziomu świadomości wykorzystania mobilnych technologiiWWW w biznesie w polskim sektorze MŚP.Słowa kluczowe: urządzenia mobilne, RWD, e-commerce, mobilne strony WWW, MŚP.
The article presents the main aspects of the development of the market of mobile devices and solutions for using the Internet. In the following part, the authors present a pilot study on the use of mobile technology in terms of mobile web pages. The survey contains four main categories of companies, i.e.: having mobile websites, carrying out a project to implement this type of solution, planning to start such a project, and not planning to take this type of action. Next, the authors present and analyze the results of pilot studies. The article is crowned with conclusions regarding the level of awareness of the use of mobile web technologies in business in the Polish SME sector.

The purpose of this paper is to examine how effective mobile devices are in the process of teaching and learning English through the perspective of university students. The research is aimed at finding out whether using mobile apps for learning purposes, in particular, for learning English is of interest for students and look at potential ways of learning the language. It also aims at exploring potential of educational applications downloaded to students’ mobile phones in terms of their integration into the classroom activities at university for the purposes of learning English. To fully conceptualize the research in mobile teaching and learning, the authors addressed the mentioned problem by using Google Forms. An online questionnaire was created and sent to students with responses collected in an online spreadsheet and was further analyzed by the authors. 102 representatives from 16 countries who study at 4 universities located in Poland and Ukraine took part in the survey. To link the reported mobile device use obtained from the questionnaire and its actual use for language learning the follow-up interviews for the subset of students were conducted with the relevant conclusions drawn. The issue of using mobile devices in the process of university study as an educational tool was investigated and proposed to potentially expand perceptions of tutorial experience of how we view teaching and learning English.

The main goal of this article is to present the barriers faced by mobile technology from the individual users’ perspective. The paper bases on the author’s own research conducted in 2017 among the students of the Warsaw University. The article presents a short description of the mobile technology market both in the context of the home market and worldwide. The main part of the paper is devoted to a detailed discussion of the barriers associated with the use of mobile technologies and the presentation of results.

Dostęp do technologii mobilnych to trend ogólny – korzystają z nich niemal wszyscy, bez względu na wiek, płeć, status społeczny czy zawodowy. Kontakt z nimi mają coraz młodsze dzieci. Z badań wynika, że dzieci roczne, a nawet dwuletnie posiadają własne urządzenia mobilne. Korzystanie z takich urządzeń niesie jednak szereg zagrożeń dla rozwoju dzieci, przyczyniając się do licznych zaburzeń w rozwoju fizycznym, emocjonalnym i poznawczym. Przy odpowiedniej kontroli ze strony dorosłych urządzenia te mogą jednak wzbogacać proces rozwoju i edukacji dzieci.
Access to mobile technology is a general trend – almost all of us use them, regardless of age, gender, social status and profession. Younger and younger children have contact with them. Research shows that even one - and two - year - old children have their own mobile devices. Improper use of these devices, however, carries a number of risks for the development of children, contributing to numerous disorders in their physical, emotional and cognitive development. With proper control by the adults these devices can, however, enrich children’s educational process.

The aim of this article is to analyze the determinants of use of mobile operator’s websites providing services for mobile device users from the customer’s point of view. This is the last study of the series of research into the mobile sphere, supplementary in relation to previous analyses of the use of mobile devices, mobile applications and websites offering them. The findings presented in the article focus on the websites of operators offering the possibility to manage the access and services which may be run on mobile devices. The paper presents research objectives and questions, description of methodology and study sample as well as a comparative analysis of the obtained results and relevant discussion. The qualitative research was conducted on a selected sample of university students by means of a standardized scoring method used to evaluate selected characteristics of websites.
Celem niniejszego artykułu jest analiza uwarunkowań wykorzystania witryn internetowych operatorów komórkowych dostarczających usługi dla użytkowników urządzeń mobilnych z punktu widzenia klienta. Jest to ostatnie z cyklu badań dotyczących sfery mobilnej uzupełniające analizy poprzednie z zakresu wykorzystania urządzeń mobilnych, aplikacji mobilnych i serwisów je dostarczających. Zawarte w opracowaniu wyniki doświadczeń koncentrują się wokół serwisów internetowych operatorów zapewniających możliwość zarządzania dostępem i zakresem usług możliwych do realizacji na urządzeniach mobilnych. Struktura pracy składa się z przedstawienia założeń badania i pytań badawczych, opisu metodologii i próby badawczej oraz analizy porównawczej uzyskanych wyników i ich dyskusji. Badanie mające charakter jakościowy przeprowadzono na wyselekcjonowanej próbie studentów uczelni wyższych, stosując standaryzowaną metodę punktową do oceny wyróżnionych charakterystycznych cech serwisów.

The main possibilities of using mobile gadgets in educational activities during visualization of demonstration material, questionnaires, testing, and also during distance learning were considered. Mobile, personal devices are getting more capable every year. Equipped with advanced sensors, mobile devices can use them as a viable platform to implement and test more complex algorithms. This paper presents an energy-efficient person localization system allowing to detect already visited places. The presented approach combines two independent information sources: wireless WiFi adapter and camera. The resulting system achieves higher recognition rates than either of the separate approaches used alone. The evaluation of presented system is performed on three datasets recorded in buildings of different structure using a modern Android device.

The paper describes a system designed to manage and collect data from the network of heterogeneous sensors. It was implemented using Erlang OTP and CouchDB for maximum fault tolerance, scalability and ease of deployment. It is resistant to poor network quality, shows high tolerance for software errors and power failures, operates on flexible data model. Additionally, it is available to users through an Web application, which shows just how easy it is to use the server HTTP API to communicate with it. The whole platform was implemented and tested on variety of devices like PC, Mac, ARM-based embedded devices and Android tablets.

Synchronizacja danych, zwłaszcza w dobie nabierającej coraz większego znaczenia technologii cloud computing, odgrywa coraz większą rolę. Równocześnie można zaobserwować coraz większą ilość urządzeń mobilnych, która sięga obecnie zawrotnej liczby miliardów urządzeń na całym świecie. Z uwagi na potrzeby użytkowników, które ewoluują w kierunku absorbcji różnorodnych informacji potrzebnych w pracy, rozrywce, życiu prywatnym, coraz bardziej istotny jawi się problem zapewnienia zgodności danych obecnych na urządzeniu użytkownika z danymi dostępnymi w ramach różnych usług oferowanych w modelu cloud computing. W artykule podjęto próbę opisania różnorodnych aspektów wymiany danych na styku urządzenia mobilne - usługi cloud computing. Przedstawiono: wyzwania komunikacji mobilnej, kryteria jakości wymiany danych mobilnych, wymieniono modele i zasady synchronizacji danych. W dalszej części przedstawiono modelową koncepcję synchronizacji danych w modelu cloud computing.
Data synchronization especially in the era of ever-increasing importance of cloud computing is playing an increasingly important role. At the same time, a growing number of mobile devices are now reaching billions of devices around the world. Due to the needs of users who evolve to absorb the variety of information they need in their work, entertainment and personal life, there is a growing concern that the data present on the user's device will be compatible with the data available under the various services offered in the cloud computing model. Therefore, the article attempts to describe the various aspects of data exchange at the interface of mobile devices - cloud computing services. The following are presented: mobile communication challenges, mobile data exchange quality criteria, models and rules for data synchronization. The model for data synchronization in the cloud computing model is presented also.

W ciągu ostatnich lat rosnąca popularność przenośnych urządzeń komputerowych, takich jak smartfony i tablety, stała się impulsem do rozwoju nowego rodzaju narzędzi dla medycyny - mobilnych aplikacji medycznych. Skala tego zjawiska przypomina zmiany, jakie w latach 80. i 90. XX wieku zapoczątkowało w diagnostyce i terapii wprowadzenie komputerów osobistych. Z technologicznego punktu widzenia urządzenia mobilne dorównują obecnie klasycznym komputerom, a pod pewnymi względami nawet je przewyższają. W zastosowaniach medycznych zamierzoną funkcję urządzenia mobilne uzyskują poprzez instalację oprogramowania (aplikacji), a w niektórych przypadkach również poprzez dołączenie dodatkowego sensora. Celem artykułu jest usystematyzowanie aktualnej wiedzy na temat mobilnych aplikacji medycznych: przedstawienie ich klasyfikacji oraz zilustrowanie jej przykładami aplikacji będących już obecnie w użyciu. Celem pracy jest także omówienie sprzętowych i programowych ograniczeń wynikających z przyjętego modelu funkcjonowania. Artykuł przed-stawia także warunki dalszego rozwoju mobilnych aplikacji medycznych, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem kształcenia specjalistów o odpowiednich kompetencjach technicznych i wiedzy medycznej, pozwalających na efektywną komunikację ze środowiskiem lekarzy.
In last years, the increasing popularity of smartphones and tablets has enabled the growth of a new branch of medical tools - mobile medical applications (apps). The scale of this effect is comparable to the digital revolution in medicine from 1980s caused by the introduction of personal computers. From the technological standpoint, current mobile devices match conventional computers in terms of computational power and outperform them in some other aspects. In medical usage, the desired functionality requires the installation of a dedicated software (an app) or, in some cases, specialized sensors. The paper presents an overview of some existing solutions. The aim is also to discuss the hardware and software limitations of mobile medical apps resulting from the model of operation they use. Finally, the article presents the conditions enabling further progress in this field, with special emphasis on the education of specialists that will communicate with medical staff.

Liczne zalety mobilnego dostępu do Internetu spowodowały duże zainteresowanie rozwiązaniami bezprzewodowymi wpływając na ich dynamiczny rozwój obserwowany w ostatnich latach. Możliwości i coraz powszechniejsze wykorzystanie urządzeń mobilnych wymuszają opracowywanie nowych standardów transmisji bezprzewodowej w celu poprawy jakości usług. Wszystkie technologie są systematycznie rozwijane ze względu na konieczność zapewnienia między nimi współpracy, potrzebę wzrostu prędkości transmisji i efektywniejszego wykorzystania łączy. Działania prowadzone za pomocą rozwiązań mobilnych – by mogły być powszechnie stosowane i rozwijane – muszą być niezawodne i bezpieczne. Dlatego coraz większą wagę przywiązuje się nie tylko do poprawy parametrów transmisji i wzrostu funkcjonalności urządzeń, ale także do zapewnienia wysokiego poziomu ochrony systemów teleinformatycznych. Urządzenia mobilne bardzo często są wykorzystywane do przechowywania danych poufnych oraz do ich przesyłania, co potwierdzają także wyniki przeprowadzonej ankiety dotyczącej użytkowania urządzeń mobilnych, których omówienie jest zamieszczone w artykule. Autorzy podkreślili wagę problemu bezpieczeństwa użytkowania urządzeń mobilnych wobec dynamicznego rozwoju nowych technologii i wzrostu zagrożeń sieciowych.
The numerous benefits of access to mobile Internet sparked great interest in wireless solutions, fostering their dynamic growth seen in recent years. The opportunities and increasing usage of mobile devices necessitate the development of new wireless standards to improve the quality of services. All technologies are systematically developed due to the need to ensure Interoperability between them, the need to increase the transmission speed and the need for efficient use of bandwidth. Activities undertaken with mobile solutions – in order to be widely used and developed – must be reliable and secure. That is why more and more attention is paid not only to improvements in transmission parameters and increased functionality of devices, but also to ensuring a high level of system protection. Mobile devices are often used to store and transmit confidential data, which is also confirmed by the results of the survey into the use of mobile devices, which is the topic of this article. The authors stress the importance of the problem of safety in mobile devices usage in the light of rapid development of new technologies and the increase in network threats.

Nie zauważa się dysonansu, jaki występuje między stosowaniem współczesnych urządzeń mobilnych związanych z IT przez uczniów i studentów a wykorzystywaniem ich w procesie nauczania przez nauczycieli wszystkich szczebli. Badania na temat aktualnego funkcjonowania studentów kształconych na nauczycieli w świecie mobilnych urządzeń pozwolą na określenie przyszłych trendów wykorzystywania tych urządzeń w polskich szkołach.
The education system is constantly changing. It’s reform is mostly formal and affects the whole structure of the system. The dissonance, between using the modern mobile devices, associated with IT by the students and deployment in the teaching process by the teachers at all levels, is not noticeable. Research on the current functioning of the students, educated teachers, in the mobile devices world will help to determine the future trends in those devices use in Polish schools.

Currently, there are many mobile applications working in integrated building automation control systems. The author, attempting to go a step further, decided to extend the standard method of electrical devices controlling by adding the possibility of two-way verbal communication. Thanks to this, in addition to the standard procedure of the function keys controlling, the control process can be carried out using the voice commands issued by the operator. The application dedicated to the Android system platform has been designed in such a way that it can be operated by any person regardless of their age, gender or voice tone. Additionally, after making the appropriate configuration of the mobile device, it is possible to issue voice commands in a very wide range of foreign languages. In addition, the user interface allows you to hear a response regarding the correctness of the given command. This function has been implemented using a built-in speech synthesizer
