Opis:
In the article a description of the concept and results of the chosen research works concerning the application of the control system and dosages of fuel to the system of the pneumatic injection were presented, as electronically controlled electromagnetic dispenser. The described concept is directed at the extension of the possibility of applying a distributor less pneumatic injection system in internal-combustion engines. In the system which is an object of the interest of authors, the satisfying invariability (from a point of view of the criterion of the toxicity of the exhaust gasses) doses of fuel to the working cycle of the engine, is connected with the issue of the stabilization of the value pressure in a gas pipe of the system of pneumatic injection (where a fuel is being dosed to). Preliminary studies showing that this natural changeable value of pressure in combination with the proper selection of the moment and the time of fuel dosage, can be used as the regulating factor (in the real time) of fuel dose to the cycle.
W artykule przedstawiono opis koncepcji oraz wyniki wybranych prac badawczych dotyczących aplikacji układu sterowania i dawkowania paliwa do systemu wtrysku pneumatycznego jako sterowanego elektronicznie dozownika elektromagnetycznego. Opisywane rozwiązanie ukierunkowane jest na rozszerzenie możliwości stosowania bezrozdzielaczowych układów wtrysku pneumatycznego w tłokowych silnikach spalinowych. W układzie, który jest przedmiotem zainteresowania autorów zadowalająca powtarzalność (z punktu widzenia kryterium toksyczności spalin) dawki paliwa na cykl roboczy silnika, związana jest z zagadnieniem stabilizacji wartości przeciwciśnienia w przewodzie gazowym systemu wtrysku pneumatycznego, (do którego dawkowane jest paliwo). Wstępne prace studialne wykazały, że ta naturalna zmienna wartość przeciwciśnienia w połączeniu z odpowiednim doborem chwili i czasu dawkowania paliwa mogą być wykorzystane jako czynnik regulujący (w czasie rzeczywistym) dawkę paliwa na cykl.

Opis:
Control and Data Acquisition System for the micro-CHP unit has been designed as a new approach to the microgeneration system supplied by energy of the Sun. This paper describes only the part of the system which is intended for controlling and measurement data collecting. Owing to the Unit, in a households, radiation absorbed by collectors can be used for heating of water, generation of electricity or obtaining the cold for air-conditioning. This top-down engineering approach are implemented by three independent subsystems. In order to manage whole station Programmable Automation Controller has been mounted. The System equipped in a proper number of flow meters, pressure and temperature sensors and liquid pumps according to an algorithm is able to control the heat distribution, calculate thermal power display these data and actual state of the unit. In addition, using LabVIEW software special programs have been written. These programs make possible to display and control states of the Unit. The entire controlling system is supplied by the 1 kW using PV Panels Subsystem. In case of the sun’s energy is not suficient, the PV system has an ability of over-switching on supply from the power network.

The results of investigations conducted on the prototype of vapour driven micro-CHP unit integrated with a gas boiler are presented. The system enables cogeneration of heat and electric energy to cover the energy demand of a household. The idea of such system is to produce electricity for own demand or for selling it to the electric grid – in such situation the system user will became the prosumer. A typical commercial gas boiler, additionally equipped with an organic Rankine cycle (ORC) module based on environmentally acceptable working fluid can be regarded as future generation unit. In the paper the prototype of innovative domestic cogenerative ORC system, consisting of a conventional gas boiler and a small size axial vapour microturbines (in-house designed for ORC and the commercially available for Rankine cycle (RC)), evaporator and condenser were scrutinised. In the course of study the fluid working temperatures, rates of heat, electricity generation and efficiency of the whole system were obtained. The tested system could produce electricity in the amount of 1 kWe. Some preliminary tests were started with water as working fluid and the results for that case are also presented. The investigations showed that domestic gas boiler was able to provide the saturated/superheated ethanol vapour (in the ORC system) and steam (in the RC system) as working fluids.

Opis:
Heat exchangers of different types find application in power systems based on solid oxide fuel cells (SOFC). Compact plate fin heat exchangers are typically found to perfectly fit systems with power output under 5 kWel. Micro-combined heat and power (micro-CHP) units with solid oxide fuel cells can exhibit high electrical and overall efficiencies, exceeding 85%, respectively. These values can be achieved only when high thermal integration of a system is assured. Selection and sizing of heat exchangers play a crucial role and should be done with caution. Moreover, performance of heat exchangers under variable operating conditions can strongly influence efficiency of the complete system. For that reason, it becomes important to develop high fidelity mathematical models allowing evaluation of heat exchangers under modified operating conditions, in high temperature regimes. Prediction of pressure and temperatures drops at the exit of cold and hot sides are important for system-level studies. Paper presents dedicated mathematical model used for evaluation of a plate fin heat exchanger, operating as a part of micro-CHP unit with solid oxide fuel cells.

Opis:
The article presents the research carried out on the circulating rotodynamic pump (peripheral pump) operating in the organic Rankine cycle with or without regeneration. The low-boiling solvent HFE7100 was used as the working fluid. Its boiling point is around 61 ◦C at atmospheric pressure. An expansion valve, which simulated the operation of an expansion machine, was used to load the tested pump. The flow characteristics were given for the working media: a solution of glycol and HFE7100 in the condenser, thermal oil and HFE7100 in the evaporator and HFE7100 in the regenerator. The research results concerning the PK70 pump operating in an ORC cycle are reported for the HFE7100 temperature range 15-60 ◦C and the dynamic viscosity range of 0.132 to 0.66 mPas. The maximum flow rate and pressure of the pump during its operation in the ORC system were assessed. The analysis of the results demonstrates that the maximum efficiencies of the pump operating with or without regeneration were 44% and slightly below 37%, respectively. The impact of the selected physicochemical parameters of the working mediums on the pressure drops occurring in the ORC cogeneration installation was discussed. Based on the research conducted and the measurement results, the possibility to apply a PK70 unit as a circulating pump for the working medium in an ORC cycle was checked.
