Opis:
During several recent years an increasing interest concerning behavior of various gaseous or liquid hydrocarbons mixtures with neat gaseous hydrogen is observed. The phase equilibria as well as flow properties have been studied and some practical implementations indicated. The main practical idea consists in a possibility to use such mixtures as a replacement for pure hydrocarbons actually used as the energy source. Application of hydrogen enriched mixtures seem to be a temporary solution for gradual decarbonization of energy resources. The advantage of such approach may consist in much smaller requirements for investment in various aspect of infrastructure needed for handling the fuels. The present work is devoted to computer simulation of carbon dioxide emissions for several scenarios based on different compositions of hydrogen mixtures with hydrocarbons. The simulations include estimation of calorific value of the mixture and composition of exhaust gases emitted after its combustion. The simulation, based on s.c. logistic function, evaluates several variants of time dependence of new fuels implementation, and consequently time dependence of changes in composition of emissions to atmosphere. The simulation can be used for choosing the ways of practical implementation management.

Opis:
Methane is the main component of the basic conventional fuels used in modern energetics – natural gas, as well as an essential component of renewable fuel like biogas. As a result of technological processes, methane can be extracted from hydrogen fuel which is dedicated to low-temperature fuel cells, generators or electric current and heat. The article presents an analysis of the possibilities of using methane to produce electricity, practical solutions and the problems that inhibit the implementation of fuel cell technology.

Opis:
The paper presents results of SI engine tests, carried on for different gaseous fuels. The analysis carried out made it possible to define the correlation between fuel composition and engine operating parameters. Tests cover various gaseous mixtures: methane with hydrogen and LPG with DME. The first group, considered as low carbon content fuels, can be characterized by low CO2 emissions. The flammability of hydrogen added in those mixtures realizes the function of combustion process activator and improves the energy conversion. The second group of fuels is constituted by LPG and DME mixtures. DME mixes perfectly with LPG and differently than in the case of other hydrocarbon fuels also consisting of oxygen, which makes the stoichiometric mixture less oxygen demanding. In the case of this fuel, improvement in engine volumetric and overall engine efficiency has been noticed, compared to LPG. During the tests, standard CNG/LPG feeding systems have been used, which underlines the utility value of the research.
