This paper presents some courses in Bachelor of capacity development of mathematical pedagogy students. Firstly, we analysed Bachelor of Mathematical Education program. Secondly, we conducted a survey to identify Vietnamese students who need to be equipped and experienced some performance capacities. Thirdly, we suggested some solutions to be taken during courses related to the module of teaching methods and pedagogic practice in order to contribute to the promotion of these competencies for students. Finally, we answered the question “How to develop such capacities for students?”.
Niniejszy artykuł przedstawia kilka kursów, które mają na celu rozwój umiejętności dydaktycznych z zakresu matematyki wśród studentów. Po pierwsze, przeanalizowaliśmy program studiów licencjackich z zakresu edukacji matematycznej. Po drugie, przeprowadziliśmy ankietę w celu ustalenia, którzy wietnamscy studenci powinni być wyposażeni w określone doświadczenia i umiejętności. Po trzecie, zaproponowaliśmy kilka rozwiązań, które należy podjąć podczas kursów związanych z modułem metod nauczania i praktyką pedagogiczną, aby podnieść kompetencje studentów. Na koniec odpowiedzieliśmy na pytanie: „Jak rozwijać takie możliwości wśród studentów?”.

Mathematics—the word that hides immense emotions. Probably each of us has some memories and associations related to mathematical education at school age. For some it was a pleasure, sometimes, when they delved into solving logical and difficult tasks, ending with pride and success. For others, learning mathematics was a nightmare they would prefer to forget, lost and sad time, marked by a streak of failures, often with a sense of inferiority. And it is the latter experience, which makes some people assume a priori that learning mathematics must be difficult, and perceive it as a cause of failure. The scale of the phenomenon is so large that in the literature we can find such terms as the scourge of mathematical illiteracy (Dąbrowski 2008), mainly blamed on teachers who failed to properly shape mathematical concepts in the minds of children (Karpińska, Remża 2019).

Celem artykułu jest zaprezentowanie wykorzystania platformy eNauczanie do tworzenia testów sprawdzających wiedzę z matematyki po pierwszym semestrze nauki matematyki na Politechnice Gdańskiej. Omówione zostaną różne typy pytań ze szczególnym zwróceniem uwagi na pytania, które pozwolą przedstawić treści z matematyki w efektywny sposób.
The aim of the article is to present the use of the eNauczanie platform to create tests in mathematics after the first semester of mathematics at the Gdańsk University of Technology. Different types of questions will be discussed with special attention to questions that will allow to present mathematics content in an effective manner.

Due to the versatility as well as its ease of implementation, the Fast Transversal Filters algorithm is attractive for many adaptive filtering applications. However, it is not widely used because of its undesirable tendency to diverge when operating in finite precision arithmetic. To compensate, modifications to the algorithm have been introduced that are either occasional (performed when a predefined condition(s) is violated) or structured as part of the normal update iteration. However, in neither case is any confidence explicitly given that the computed parameters are in fact close to the desired ones. Here, we introduce a time invariant parameter that provides the user with more flexibility in establishing confidence in the consistency of the updated filter parameters. Additionally, we provide evidence through the introduction of a hybrid FTF algorithm that when sufficient time is given prior to catastrophic divergence, the update parameters of the FTF algorithm can be adjusted so that consistency can be acquired and maintained.

The problem considered in this paper is the minimization of the lifetime variance of a complex system subject to its expected life and economic constraints. The example of a bridge network, in which all elements have constant failure rates, illustrates the problem. A numerical algorithm for solving this optimization problem by using exact formulae for system lifetime moments is included. Using this algorithm, we can obtain results better than the solutions known from earlier papers.

Mathematics of the first historical civilizations was conspicuously practical. Crucial turn has been initiated by ancient Greeks who chose mathematics (alongside of philosophy) as away of describing the world. Efficiency of that way gave their mathematics an anti-empirical flavor, in turn of which it became idle soon. The change has come only in modern times, when mathematics has been recognized, without loosing its abstract character, as a „language of Nature”. Since that time mathematics keeps a nice balance between ratio and praxis, and its growing significance for exact and natural sciences seems to be an argument against extremism of either naturalism or idealism.

Technology influences a person’s attitudes, values, mental and physical health, behavior, and lifestyle. Therefore, it is necessary to pay attention to the technical education of students from the beginning of school attendance. The European Union countries (hereinafter the EU) pay great attention to technical education. They base their curricula on the Council of Europe's recommendation (2006), which set out the main strategic goal: to create curricula that make the EU dynamic and competitive in the world. Therefore, from the point of view of technical education, it was necessary to: increase students' interest in studying science and technology, develop their scientific and technical competencies, ensure access to information and communication technologies for all students, improve teacher training for science and technology education, and strengthen the link between the world of work and research (Kozík et al., 2013 Dostál, 2015; Dostál & Prachagool, 2016). For this reason, the authors M. Kožuchová and M. Kuruc created a monograph focused on the preparation of students for teaching the subject of technical education.

Opis:
We consider the limit behaviour of elastic shells when the relative thickness tends to zero. We address the case when the middle surface has principal curvatures of opposite signs and the boundary conditions ensure the geometrical rigidity. The limit problem is hyperbolic, but enjoys peculiarities which imply singularities of unusual intensity. We study these singularities and their propagation for several cases of loading, giving a somewhat complete description of the solution.

In this paper the solution of a finite element approximation of a linear obstacle plate problem is investigated. A simple version of an interior point method and a block pivoting algorithm have been proposed for the solution of this problem. Special purpose implementations of these procedures are included and have been used in the solution of a set of test problems. The results of these experiences indicate that these procedures are quite efficient to deal with these instances and compare favourably with the path-following PATH and the active-set MINOS codes of the commercial GAMS collection

Poziom i skuteczność nauczania matematyki w polskich szkołach jest w stanie uratować strategia równych szans, czyli skupienie uwagi na uczniu, jego indywidualnych możliwościach, zainteresowaniach i potrzebach, w przeciwieństwie do usilnych starań przygotowania wszystkich uczniów według programów nauczania bazujących na tej samej podstawie programowej do tego samego egzaminu, co, jak pokazuje Raport NIK-u, przynosi szkody przede wszystkim samym uczniom. Realizacja zaleceń Raportu nie jest jednak w stanie uzdrowić aktualnego stanu. Szansą na zmianę jest ukierunkowanie kształcenia matematycznego uczniów na ich indywidualne możliwości i zainteresowania. Nie mniej ważne jest również uwzględnienie w nauczaniu matematyki ewolucji samej matematyki w dzisiejszym świecie, by przygotować uczniów na czekające ich wyzwania niemal w każdym obszarze życia osobistego i zawodowego.
The quality and effectiveness of teaching mathematics in Polish schools is able to save a strategy of equal opportunity, that is, focusing on the student, his individual abilities, interests and needs, in contrast to the efforts to prepare all students according to teaching programs based on the same core curriculum to the same exams, which, as shown in the NIK Report, harms primarily the students themselves. Implementation of the recommendations of the Report, however, is not able to change dramatically the current state. A chance for change is the orientation of students’ mathematical education to their individual abilities and interests. It is also important to include in mathematics education the evolution of mathematics itself in today’s world, to prepare students for the challenges they will face in almost every area of personal and professional life.

Nonsmooth analysis, inequality constrained optimization and variational inequalities are involved in the modelling of unilateral contact problems. The corresponding theoretical and algorithmic tools, which are part of the area known as nonsmooth mechanics, are by no means classical. In general purpose software some of these tools (perhaps in a simplified way) are currently available. Two engineering applications, a rubber-coated roller contact problem and a masonry wall, solved with MARC, are briefly presented, together with elements of the underlying theory.
