Effective management of the company is not the result of the trial and error method, but is based on modern-functioning companies on rational management instruments. They include management methods that are well-tried, logical sets of rules and stages used in the processes of managing human teams. The application of a certain management method in practice can not be accidental. Before executing the implementation decision, the management of an economic organization should: carry out a company's diagnosis in the system: factors influencing the company's success - management results, analyze whether the managerial staff is a critical element of the company's development, define a long-term program for improvement of business management systems, select a bunch of management methods adequate to the specifics of the company. After analyzing the above-mentioned tasks, the basic management method and supporting methods should be selected. The basic method should be total, i.e. applicable to all organizational entities. At the same time, at individual management levels, the so-called a free management space within which it is possible to use other partial management methods.

Opisano zidentyfikowane problemy oraz wdrożone w placówce procesy naprawcze.
Ongoing changes in the environment of medical institutions are the reason for their important changes in management and organizational approach of the management staff. These changes often cause a strong need to optimize organizational activities in managed entities. In this article, the issue of optimization of specific organizational processes taking place in a clinic has been researched, as exemplified by the Hospital Clinic of the Provincial Hospital named after John Paul II in Bełchatów. The article identifies the problems and presents the implementation of remedial processes.

The article addressed the issues related to the process approach, so any actions aimed at estimating the quality of the enterprise, as well as at documenting the whole company. The process approach is one of 8 principles of the quality management that involves measuring problems and solving them by improvement. The entire process is based on a logical action in order to meet customer needs. Within the central modern warehouse there has been used the modern delivery monitoring program to ensure an even distribution of the assortment line. Obviously, not everyone sees only the benefits in centralization, but also the risks. And there is really no golden mean, but there is only the best solution as such. The key benefits and risks associated with centralization and the emergence of distribution centres should be divided on the basis of those creating benefits for the manufacturer, supplier and the company of the distribution centre. The basis of each company is that of the process. The activities of the organization are considered and analyzed in the framework of the quality management system including the processes occurring in the enterprise.

The issue of quality is a very important aspect of the operation of transport companies. In relation to the area of their activity it primarily focuses on the quality of services provided, which can be verified e.g. on the basis of timeliness of deliveries or accepted complaints. This allows for examining the quality after providing the service in order to take future pro-quality actions. However, is it possible to affect the quality of services provided before their provision? The transport process itself is preceded with a range of actions taken within the framework of detailed planning and organization, which can significantly influence the quality of services. The decisions made at the management level are conditioned by many factors determining the course of future events, however, this is not always enough to make the process run uninterruptedly. Therefore, it is important to structure basic actions at the initial stage so as to allow the smooth conduct of the decision-making process for the specific task in order to subsequently focus on the detailed analysis of the actions planned. In the paper, the author attempts to characterize the fundamental factors affecting the decisions taken during the planning and organization of the transport process. The objective of the conducted research is to verify initial decisions and their significance for the improvement in the quality of transport services provided. There was conducted the algorithmization of actions and interpretation of their importance for the quality of decisions taken at the preparatory stage and during transport.

Ciągły postęp w zakresie technologii magazynowania i konieczność doskonalenia procesów magazynowych powoduje konieczność wprowadzania usprawnień i nowych rozwiązań w tym zakresie. Istniejące opracowania naukowe dostarczają wiedzy na temat metod umożliwiających poprawę funkcjonowania gospodarki magazynowej, jednak w większości są to metody czasochłonne i wymagające doświadczenia w ich stosowaniu. Dlatego celem niniejszego artykułu było opracowanie jednej z prostszych możliwych ścieżek doskonalenia zarządzania magazynem wyrobów gotowych. Realizacja tego celu przebiegała kilku etapowo i wymagała przeprowadzenia badań ankietowych wstępnych i rozszerzonych.
Continuous progress in the field of storage technology and the need to improve warehouse processes makes it necessary to introduce improvements in this area. Scientific studies provide knowledge about warehouse management improving, however, most of these methods are timeconsuming and require experience in their application. The purpose of this article was to develop one of the possible paths to improve warehouse management. The implementation of this objective took several stages and required preliminary and extended surveys to be carried out.

Purpose: The purpose of the study was to show the importance of measuring the effects of the execution of personnel processes within the framework of personnel function management in manufacturing enterprises. Design/methodology/approach: The development of the article required a critical analysis of the literature on the subject. A literature study of scientific publications, a survey, and face-to 16 face interviews were performed. Findings: Thanks to the realization of the survey it was found that, despite such high awareness of the importance and effectiveness of the use of KPIs, only less than 28% of the respondents declared the use of HR function measurements in a systematic way, and only 53% use only a few indicators, in an active way and not fully coordinated. Research limitations/implications: Future directions of activities will concern the realization of research in another research group (increased number of analyzed production and service enterprises) from the area of the southern part of Poland and the comparative analysis of obtained results. The limitation of the research may be the unwillingness of enterprises to cooperate. Practical implications: The results of the study indicate the possibility and at the same time recommend the implementation of KPIs for monitoring the effectiveness of development processes in enterprises. The obtained results will contribute to the implication of more KPIs and thus increase the level of effective management. Originality/value: Filling the research gap in the field of measuring the effects of personnel function with the use of selected KPIs. The study is addressed to the management staff of enterprises.

The article presents one of the most commonly used approaches to management, namely process approach and process management. This problem is quite complex due to the number of processes carried out by hard coal mining enterprises. The classification of processes according to three categories such as: management processes, core processes and supporting processes is discussed. Attention is paid to the efficiency and effectiveness of the process and the measures used to manage these processes. The cognitive goal of this article was to gain knowledge about the use of process management in hard coal mining enterprises. The aspects selected by the authors concerned the analysis of the processes carried out by these enterprises. In particular, the process of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Management and “Environmental Protection” (EP) has been analyzed. Their input and output elements are presented, as well as exemplary measures of their effectiveness.
W artykule przybliżono jedno z obecnie najczęściej stosowanych podejść do zarządzania, mianowicie podejście procesowe i zarządzanie procesami. W przypadku przedsiębiorstw górniczych węgla kamiennego problem ten jest dość złożony ze względu na ilość realizowanych przez nie procesów. Omówiono klasyfikację procesów według trzech kategorii: procesów zarządczych, procesów podstawowych i procesów wspomagających. Zwrócono uwagę na skuteczność oraz efektywność procesu oraz stosowane miary, poprzez które można zarządzać procesami. Celem poznawczym niniejszego artykułu było zdobycie wiedzy na temat wykorzystywania zarządzania procesowego w przedsiębiorstwach górniczych węgla kamiennego. Wybrane przez autorów aspekty dotyczyły analizy realizowanych przez wspomniane przedsiębiorstwa procesów. Przyglądnięto się w szczególności procesowi Zarządzania Bezpieczeństwem i Higieną Pracy (BHP) oraz Ochronie Środowiska (OS). Przedstawiono ich elementy wejścia i wyjścia, a także wskazano przykładowe mierniki ich skuteczności.

Proper functioning of security and defence systems is determined by a number of various factors, among which an important role falls on logistical issues. As the experience has shown so far, it is the logistical processes that in many cases determine correct implementation of a number of key projects for the security and defence of the state. In view of the above, the aim of the article is to identify the determinants of the contemporary effective management of logistical processes taking place in the state security and defence system. The research problem to be solved was formulated in the form of a question: what factors determine today's effective management of logistical processes related to socio-economic development, as one of the essential elements of state security and defence?
Prawidłowe funkcjonowanie systemów bezpieczeństwa i obronności determinowane jest szeregiem różnorodnych czynników, wśród których istotna rola przypada kwestiom logistycznym. Jak wskazują dotychczasowe doświadczenia to właśnie procesy logistyczne w wielu przypadkach warunkują prawidłową realizację szeregu przedsięwzięć kluczowych dla bezpieczeństwa i obronności państwa. W świetle powyższego za cel artykułu przyjęto identyfikację czynników warunkujących współcześnie efektywne zarządzanie procesami logistycznymi zachodzącymi w systemie bezpieczeństwa i obronności państwa. Podjęty do rozwiązania problem badawczy został sformułowany w postaci pytania: jakie czynniki determinują współcześnie efektywne zarządzanie procesami logistycznymi związanymi z rozwojem społeczno-gospodarczym, jako jednym z istotnych elementów bezpieczeństwa i obronności państwa?

The paper deals with the HR processes and selected areas of talent management in the specific context of tourism. It also highlights the benefits of talent management implementation and specifies HR processes used by organizations in practice. The paper draws primarily on a primary data gathered through questionnaire survey among selected organizations. Results shows, that there is a significant association between organizational characteristics and implementation of talent management, specifically the implementation/non-implementation of talent management is related to the size of the organization. The findings confirm that the HR management should be focused more on the issue of developing and implementing talent management processes, filling management positions by talented people, stimulating talented people financially, putting more emphasis on developing the potential of employees (through education and training).
Artykuł zajmuje się procesami w zakresie zasobów ludzkich oraz wybranych obszarów zarządzania talentami w konkretnym kontekście turystyki. Podkreśla również korzyści z wdrożenia zarządzania talentami i precyzuje procesy w zakresie zasobów ludzkich stosowane przez organizacje w praktyce. Artykuł opiera się głównie na podstawowych danych zebranych przez badanie ankietowe wśród wybranych organizacji. Otrzymane wyniki wskazują, że istnieje znaczący związek pomiędzy cechami organizacyjnymi i implementacją zarządzania talentami, zwłaszcza implementacja/nieimplementacja zarządzania talentami jest związana z wielkością organizacji. Wyniki potwierdzają, że zarządzanie zasobami ludzkimi powinno być koncentrowane bardziej na kwestii rozwijania i wdrażania procesów zarządzania talentami, obsadzania stanowisk kierowniczych przez utalentowanych ludzi, stymulowania utalentowanych ludzi finansowo, kładzenia większego nacisku na rozwijanie potencjału pracowników (poprzez edukację i szkolenia).

The paper aims at recognizing the possibilities and perspectives of application of qualitativequantitative research methodology in the field of economics, with a special focus on production engineering management processes. The main goal of the research is to define the methods that would extend the research apparatus of economists and managers by tools that allow the inclusion of qualitative determinants into quantitative analysis. Such approach is justified by qualitative character of many determinants of economic occurrences. At the same time quantitative approach seems to be predominant in production engineering management, although methods of transposition of qualitative decision criteria can be found in literature. Nevertheless, international economics and management could profit from a mixed methodology, incorporating both types of determinants into joint decision-making models. The research methodology consists of literature review and own analysis of applicability of mixed qualitative-quantitative methods for managerial decision-making. The expected outcome of the research is to find which methods should be applied to include qualitativequantitative analysis into multicriteria decision-making models in the fields of economics, with a special regard to production engineering management.

The article is devoted to the development of a multicomponent adaptive strategy for managing Russian high-tech enterprises in modern crisis conditions. Adaptability and flexibility are considered as the most important indicators of the efficiency of structures, their ability to ensure sustainable operation and effective innovative development of high-tech enterprises. A significant place in the article is devoted to possible approaches and methods of adaptive management of the enterprise in crisis, with the help of which changes in the internal and external environment are monitored, which can be expected and random, make current operational decisions that contribute to the achievement of pre-set goals based on correction of certain tasks. The questions about the quality of adaptation, adaptive characteristics of the structure and their consistency with the level and quality of adaptation of other elements of the enterprise, conjugation of adaptability and flexibility and pace of changes are considered. A number of modern techniques related to the development of strategies for the development of high-tech enterprises in crisis conditions are analyzed. The necessity of conducting a comprehensive accounting of the crisis as the main factor associated with the uncertainty of the external environment at the stage of strategic analysis is substantiated. There is an option, in which it is possible to include the crisis and its main characteristics into the strategic three competence model of the enterprise, as an additional controlled parameter. There is a general specificity of the formation of the strategy of a high-tech enterprise in conditions of risk and uncertainty.

In the light of research conducted both in Poland and scientific centres abroad, it should be noted that one of the concepts that are becoming more and more popular in the state security and defence sector is the concept of business continuity management. With regard to logistical processes, it is used in a special way to ensure their smooth running through the proper preparation of logistical entities to continue operations at a previously accepted by the client level in the event of disturbances. In the light of the above, the aim of the article is to identify the possibility of common use of the assumptions of the concept of business continuity management in the process of managing logistical processes within the state security and defence system.
W świetle badań prowadzonych zarówno w Polsce jak i w zagranicznych ośrodkach naukowych, należy zauważyć, że jedną z koncepcji cieszących się coraz większą popularnością w sektorze bezpieczeństwa i obronności państwa jest koncepcja zarządzania ciągłością działania. W odniesieniu do procesów logistycznych jest ona wykorzystywana w sposób szczególny do zapewnienia ich niezakłóconego przebiegu poprzez właściwe przygotowanie podmiotów logistycznych do kontynuowania działań na akceptowalnym przez klienta, wcześniej określonym poziomie w sytuacji wystąpienia zakłóceń. W świetle powyższego za cel artykułu przyjęto identyfikację możliwości powszechnego wykorzystania założeń koncepcji zarządzania ciągłością działania w procesie zarządzania procesami logistycznymi w systemie bezpieczeństwa i obronności państwa.

W pracy przedstawiono założenia i wymagania techniczne kompleksowego informatycznego systemu wspomagania operatora telekomunikacyjnej sieci resortowej. Dokonano analizy podstawowych procesów, funkcji i zasad zarządzania systemu zarządzania siecią Telekomunikacji Kolejowej w aspekcie sprawnego, efektywnego i spójnego zarządzania procesami wewnątrz struktury organizacyjnej Telekomunikacji Kolejowej oraz zarządzania siecią telekomunikacyjną tego operatora. Przedstawiono koncepcję centrum zarządzania siecią dla Telekomunikacji Kolejowej. W koncepcji szczególną uwagę zwrócono na opis struktury organizacyjnej NMC (Network Management Center) z podziałem według zakresu odpowiedzialności oraz podano przykłady procesów wspomagających działalność operacyjną operatora.
The reports concentrate on assumptions and technical requirements concerning the supporting system for the operator of telecommunication departmental network. The author analysed fundamental processes, functions and principles of management system of the Railway Telecommunication. The special attention was paid to description of organizational structure of NMC (Network Management Centre) including division of responsibilities and examples of the processes supporting operator functions.

Opis:
Portowe terminale kontenerowe są zarządzane z użyciem kompleksowych rozwiązań informatycznych jakimi są systemy operacyjne terminalu TOS (ang. Terminal Operating System). Rozwój technologii informatycznych oraz zwiększająca się wydajność portowych terminali kontenerowych wymusza ciągłe doskonalenie funkcjonalności TOS. System TOS staje się obecnie podstawowym narzędziem optymalizacji procesów przeładunkowych. Celem niniejszej pracy jest przedstawienie wybranych aspektów optymalizacji pracy terminalu przy użyciu TOS. W pracy scharakteryzowano najważniejsze procesy obsługi statków kontenerowych. Przedstawiono wspomagający ten proces system operacyjny. Zaprezentowano wyniki badań konkretnego procesu w postaci analizy wydajności, czasu obsługi oraz zdarzeń wpływających na wydłużenie w/w procesu. Wyniki badań oraz przedstawiona analiza pozwoliły na wyciągnięcie wniosków o charakterze ogólnym i szczegółowym.
Seaport container terminals are managed with the use of contemporary information technology IT solutions such as terminal operating systems (TOS). The development of IT systems and continuous demand for efficiency of container terminals forces the continuous improvement of the TOS functionality. TOS systems are now becoming the primary tool for terminal processes optimization. The purpose of this paper is to present certain aspects of terminal optimization using TOS. Therefore, the key handling processes and the operating system assisting them are described. The paper gives the results of performance analysis of chosen processes, including: terminal throughput, events affecting the lengthening of the handling process, number of moves made by gantries. The analysis presented enabled to draw conclusions of a general and narrowing nature.
