    The mystery of Jesus’ Heart cannot be separated from the mystery of His cross. They both illustrate, but also realize God’s incomprehensible love for man – its realism and fact. They both also depict the divine-human dimension of salvation effected in the person of Christ. In this way the paradox of this love reaches its peak. Although they both express the same love, they are in a way beside each other, and they need each other so that the love could be expressed, be voiced. What happened on the cross is in a way complemented and consolidated in the image of the Heart. The core of this hermeneutics is: the act of Jesus’ Heart becomes clear in the cross, and the cross in the love of the Heart. At the same time in Jesus’ Heart – Jesus as the God and a man – the act of God’s love is joined in one thing, where human love is a reply to the priority of loving on the side of God; it is in it that it is fulfilled and verified. God’s love – the one that was crucified and wounded with the spear – only explains the significance of human love.

    Boga jako miłosiernego Ojca objawia już Stary Testament. Na podstawie tej tradycji objawienie to można uznać również za przygotowujące do wcielenia Bożego Słowa, wypełniającego Boże obietnice i realizującego w pełni miłosierdzie Ojca. Zjednoczony z ludzką naturą Boży Syn najpełniej także ukazuje, kim jest Bóg i kim dla Boga jest człowiek. Objawia również, czym jest miłość Boga do człowieka, nie tylko niecofająca się przed grzechem, ale na podstawie tego zjednoczenia – w ten sam sposób jak Syna – obejmująca każdego człowieka. Tak rozumiane miłosierdzie Boże nie ogranicza się tylko do przebaczenia grzechów,ale jest zaproszeniem człowieka przez Boga do możliwej dopiero w Jezusie Chrystusie cudownej wymiany miłości, w której uczestniczy obdarowujący miłosierdziem i nim obdarowany.
    God is shown as merciful already in the Old Testament. However, it is in the fulfillment of God’s promises in the incarnation of the Word that the realization of Divine mercy achieves its fullness. That is why the Word incarnate is also a revelation of the nature of Divine mercy. Its quintessence is made visible in Jesus Christ, who brings God closer to man and makes man capable of self understanding. In the Son the Father reveals Himself as inconceivable Love, whose consequence is creation and redemption. The Father not only does not withdraw His love in response to human sin, but in the Son becomes united with each man, thus showing the fundamental nature of His mercy. It is realized most fully in the work of Jesus Christ, in whom God loves every man with the same love as His own Son. In the Son, who united himself with the human nature, the Father also enables man to respond to Divine love. This means inviting and introducing man to the relation of mercy. Thus, mercy ceases to be a unilateral process and becomes the best way for man to unite with God through the imitation of Jesus.

The article has been divided into three parts: world economic conditions of life, the man at the crossroads of complementary economics and the need for such a quality of love as “divine economy”.

    The success of the atheistic hiddenness argument depends on the “consciousness constraint” it imposes on the divine-human loving relationship: namely, that this relationship requires human conscious awareness of being in the relationship with God. I challenge the truth of this proposition by introducing the concept of a physical relationship with God that is not subject to this constraint. I argue, first, that a physical relationship with God is metaphysically possible; second, that its plausibility is supported by natural theology; and third, that a perfectly loving God would prefer physical relationships with human beings over consciousness-constrained relationships, because a perfectly loving God would prefer to preserve the integrity of human freedom of participation and allow inclusion of all people regardless of their natural cognitive capabilities. I also offer an interpretation of apparent divine hiddenness in the light of the idea of God’s openness for physical relationships.
    Boża otwartość na fizyczną relację Powodzenie ateistycznego argumentu z ukrycia zależy od „przymusu świadomości”, jaki nakłada on na bosko-ludzką relację miłosną, tj. warunku świadomości bycia w relacji z Bogiem. Podważam prawdziwość tego twierdzenia, wprowadzając koncepcję fizycznej relacji z Bogiem, która nie podlega temu przymusowi. Twierdzę, po pierwsze, że fizyczna relacja z Bogiem jest metafizycznie możliwa; po drugie, że jej wiarygodność jest poparta teologią naturalną; i po trzecie, że doskonale kochający Bóg wolałby fizyczne relacje z ludźmi niż relacje ograniczone świadomością, ponieważ doskonale kochający Bóg wolałby zachować integralność ludzkiej wolności uczestnictwa i umożliwić włączenie wszystkich ludzi bez względu na ich naturalne zdolności poznawcze. Proponuję również interpretację pozornej boskiej skrytości w świetle idei otwarcia Boga na relacje fizyczne.

    From the theological point of view today there is a need of focusing on the question of the mutual relation between the theology of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the theology of the Divine Mercy. The Issue has to be considered mainly because of the growing veneration of the Divine Mercy, which in many aspects evidently adopts certain elements which traditionally belong to the worship of the Sacred Heart. The connection between these two cults can only be perceived after a profound theological analysis. Therefore, in this item I propose a theological perspective on the teachings of Saint Pope John Paul II, included in encyclicals Redemptor hominis (4th March 1979) and Dives in misericordia (30th November 1980), since these two significant and current documents contain valid and inspiring statements allowing the reader to grasp the relation between the theology of the Sacred Heart and the theology of the Divine Mercy. This authoritative and theologically profound background will indicate explicitly the close connection between the two cults and the respective theologies and how they complement each other. The proposed view deeply rooted in the teachings of Saint John Paul II may constitute a guideline for coherent combination of these two kinds of worship within Christian devotion. The growing cult of the Devine Mercy should be allowed to merge with other types of worship. The intention is to place the cult of the Divine Mercy within the tradition of the Church devotion, and at the same time to discover its hidden spiritual possibilities of the actualisation of the Church cult and adaptation of it to the new spiritual condition of the present times.
    Z teologicznego punktu widzenia zasługuje dzisiaj na uwagę zagadnienie wzajemnych relacji zachodzących miedzy teologią Najświętszego Serca Jezusa i teologią miłosierdzia Bożego. Uwzględnienia tego zagadnienia domaga się rozwijający się kult miłosierdzia Bożego, który w niejednym przypadku wyraźnie przejmuje elementy tradycyjnie należące do kultu Serca Jezusa. Jakie relacje łączą te dwa rodzaje kultu, może ukazać tylko głębsze wejście w ich teologię. W niniejszym artykule proponuję więc teologiczne spojrzenie na nauczanie papieża św. Jana Pawła II zawarte w encyklikach Redemptor hominis (4 marca 1979) i Dives in misericordia (30 listopada 1980), gdyż w tych ważnych i ciągle aktualnych dokumentach zawarte są bardzo wyraźne i inspirujące wypowiedzi, pozwalające uchwycić relację zachodzącą między teologią Serca Jezusa i teologią miłosierdzia Bożego. Na tej autorytatywnej i głębokiej teologicznie podstawie będzie można ukazać ścisłe relacje zachodzące między odpowiadającymi tym teologiom dwoma rodzajami kultu i ich wzajemne dopełnianie się. Proponowane ujęcie, zakorzenione w nauczaniu św. Jana Pawła II, może stać się drogowskazem do spójnego połączenia tych dwóch rodzajów kultu w ramach pobożności chrześcijańskiej. Rozwijającemu się kultowi miłosierdzia Bożego należy zapewnić łączność z innymi formami kultu. Chodzi o to, by kult miłosierdzia Bożego usytuować w ramach tradycji kultu Kościoła, a tym samym odkryć w nim możliwości duchowe aktualizowania kultu kościelnego i przystosowania go do nowej sytuacji duchowej obecnych czasów.

    Nieznany utwór Wciąż jestem na tym samym brzegu został odnaleziony podczas prac badawczych nad krytycznym wydaniem pism literackich Karola Wojtyły – Jana Pawła II w Archiwum Kurii Metropolitalnej w Krakowie pod koniec 2016 roku. Tekst powstał, najprawdopodobniej, między lutym 1941 (data śmierci ojca Wojtyły) a październikiem 1942, kiedy młody Karol, jako kleryk zakonspirowanego Seminarium Archidiecezji Krakowskiej, podjął decyzję rozpoczęcia studiów na tajnych kompletach Wydziału Teologicznego Uniwersytetu Jagiellońskiego. Jest to jedyny w twórczości Karola Wojtyły utwór podejmujący temat wewnętrznych zmagań bohatera między miłością do kobiety a oblubieńczą miłością do Boga. Można w nim odczytać podstawowe zręby koncepcji miłości, które Papież będzie rozwijał dalej w swej filozofii (Miłość i odpowiedzialność), teologii (Teologia ciała) i twórczości literackiej (m.in. w wierszach mistycznych oraz w dramatach Przed sklepem jubilera i Promieniowanie ojcostwa).
    The unknown piece entitled ‘Here I am, still on this bank’ was discovered during research work on the critical edition of the literary works of Karol Wojtyła / John Paul II in the Archive of the Metropolitan Curia in Cracow in late 2016. The text was created most likely between February 1941 (the date of Wojtyła’s father’s death), and October 1942, when young Karol, a cleric of the clandestine Cracovian Archdiocese Seminary, decided to take up underground studies at the Jagiellonian University’s Theological Department. It is the only piece among Karol Wojtyła’s works to take on the theme of the internal conflicts of the protagonist between love for a woman and a betrothed’s love for God. We can find here the basic foundations of the concept of love, which the Pope would later develop in his philosophy (Love and Responsibility), theology (Theology of the Body) and literary works (e.g. the mystical poems and plays In front of the Jeweller’s Shop and The Radiance of Fatherhood).

    In the Book of Hosea a noun "'ab" does not apply to the prophet or Yahweh, but an idea of their fatherhood occurs in the prophecy. The prophet was called to be a husband of the woman of whoredom and a father of the children of whoredom. Hosea accepted this calling and consequently remained in love with them. In this way he became an image of God’s love for His people. In the marital and parental story of Hosea, Yahweh reveals His torn heart.It shows that He not only loves Israel, but also how does it. In the face of the continuous infidelity of the Chosen People, God’s love must be stronger than human sin.It was shown in the image of paternal and motherly love, it signifies complete love which was expressed in a human way in the Book of Hosea. Yahweh always forgives, loves and gives new life. In spite of the fact that Israel is really “the son of whoredom” who rejects love and knowledge of God as his Father and Saviour, he still remains in the bonds of God’s incomprehensible love and is called “the son of God”.

    Opis:
    The author presents considerations concerning morality criteria based on cultural and philosophical prepositions. Contemporary issues, in particular bioethical ones, make us pose the questions about the hierarchy of norms and, thus, the hierarchy of activities. This automatically leads to the question about the source (or sources) of law. The basis for these considerations is Antigone by Sophocles as a masterpiece with universal message. From the text analysis one can discover the issue of tradition and its role in social life principles determination. This leads to the question about the sources of law – are they transcendental or immanent? The author points out that Antigone uses the word „law” – „νόμος”, „νόμιμα” – only in relation to the divine laws. Creon’s regulations which oppose them are described as „φρόνημα”– inventions. In this way she acknowledges the supreme character of the transcendental norm. Rejection of the reference to the transcendental leads to „absolute contradiction” in the area of prepositions and attainments of legal objectives. This notion („absolute contradiction”) was used by Joseph Ratzinger in Benedict’s Europe in the cultures crisis. It can be said that this contradiction in the modern age comes from different ways of understanding the relationship between the transcendence and science, and, consequently, law by Galileo. Therefore, the premise of absolute autonomy creates „absolute contradiction”. The attempt to overcome this obstacle is respect for the so called „immanent transcendence”, which is expressed in the natural law. However, one must first acknowledge the existence of the objective truth and the possibility of knowing it and the norm which assesses the consistency of one’s action with those reference points. This norm is one’s conscience which has its autonomy in relation to legal norms that are not based on the natural law. Without that acknowledgement the only justification of law would be mere force. In our cultural situation Antigone’s question about the sources of law and its validity as well as how to save human dignity and love remains still pending.
