    Opis:
    W artykule przedstawiono zagadnienia dotyczące możliwości estetycznego kształtowania krajobrazów leśnych. Krajobraz leśny jest przestrzennym układem elementów przyrodniczych oraz antropogenicznych, o jego fizjonomii decyduje przede wszystkim roślinność oraz urządzenia, budowle związane z tzw. inżynieryjnym zagospodarowaniem lasu. Atrakcyjność krajobrazu ma istotne znaczenie zarówno w procesie udostępnienia i zagospodarowania rekreacyjnego lasu, jak również przy planowaniu oraz projektowaniu szlaków komunikacyjnych. Przyczynia się ona, jak dowodzą liczne badania, do zwiększenia komfortu wypoczynku oraz podniesienia bezpieczeństwa na drogach. Badania nad atrakcyjnością krajobrazów leśnych pozwalają ustalić i poszerzyć wiedzę dotyczącą zasad estetycznego kształtowania lasu, które jedynie ogólnikowo przedstawione są w Zasadach hodowli lasu oraz Wytycznych w sprawie doskonalenia gospodarki leśnej na podstawach ekologicznych. Niezbędne są w związku z powyższym dalsze, bardziej szczegółowe badania nad percepcją przestrzeni lasu. Ich celem powinno być doskonalenie metod badawczych oraz określenie inżynieryjnych zasad kształtowania krajobrazu leśnego.
    In this paper some issues on forest landscapes aesthetic shaping are presented. Forest landscape is a spatial system, which is built of some natural and anthropological elements. Its physiognomy is created by vegetation, equipment and buildings of forest engineering development. The forest landscape attractiveness is very important, especially in the forest recreation management and in the process of routes planning and designing. Landscape aesthetics, according to some researches contributes to improving resting comfort and roads safety. The researches on forest landscape atractiveness allow establishing some principles on forest aestethics shaping. These principles in general are included in some documents, like the Principles of Forest Silviculture and the Guidelines to improve forest management on ecological basis. Anyway, more detailed researches on forest landscape perception should be continued. The resultes can be very helpful, especially in establishing principles of forest landscape engeenering shaping.

    Opis:
    Środowisko leśne stanowi doskonałe miejsce do wypoczynku, dla spragnionego kontaktu z przyrodą człowieka. Postanowiono zbadać preferencje odnośnie korzystania z zasobów leśnych wśród odwiedzających Leśny Kompleks Promocyjny Lasy Beskidu Sądeckiego. W celu określenia znaczenia lasu dla badanych osób, przeanalizowano czynniki, które motywują respondentów do wizyt w lesie. Poznanie oczekiwań ankietowanych odnośnie preferowanego wyglądu lasu oraz wyodrębnienie najważniejszych jego funkcji było przedmiotem badań. Ocenie poddano zapotrzebowanie na infrastrukturę turystyczną ze strony respondentów. Wytypowanie elementów pochodzenia antropogenicznego, które istotnie obniżają satysfakcję z pobytu w lesie, stanowiło cel badań. Narzędzie badawcze stanowił oryginalny kwestionariusz ankietowy. Badania zostały wykonane w lesie, głównie na szlakach turystycznych oraz w pobliżu kolejki linowej w Paśmie Jaworzyny Krynickiej – Beskid Sądecki. Ankietowaniu poddano 152 respondentów, wiosną 2008 r. Respondenci w zakresie wrażeń wizualno-estetycznych oczekują przede wszystkim czystego i zadbanego lasu. Preferowanym typem lasu, jest las mieszany o charakterze naturalnym. Zdaniem badanych najwięcej przyjemności dostarcza pobyt w lesie z dorodnym drzewostanem, bogatym w podszyt i runo. Wśród czynników, dla których respondenci odwiedzają las na pierwszy plan wysuwa się potrzeba wypoczynku. Mniej ważnymi czynnikami okazały się, potrzeba pozyskania owoców runa leśnego oraz możliwość obserwacji dzikich zwierząt. Najistotniejszymi funkcjami lasu w opinii badanych osób są funkcje ekologiczne i ochronne, takie jak: dostarczanie tlenu, ochrona wód i gleb oraz spełnianie przez las funkcji bytowo-przestrzennych dla egzystencji organizmów żywych. Mniejsze znaczenie ma funkcja społeczna lasu kojarzona z możliwością wypoczynku, natomiast niewielki procent respondentów dostrzega produkcyjną funkcję lasu. Badani w LKP wyrażają dezaprobatę dla braku kultury i świadomości ekologicznej wśród użytkowników lasu, którzy zaśmiecają, wjeżdżają na jego teren pojazdami mechanicznymi oraz puszczają luzem psy. Opinia publiczna potępia bezprawne korzystanie z zasobów leśnych, domagając się zaostrzenia przepisów w tym zakresie i egzekwowania kar za ich naruszanie.
    Society benefits from forest relaxation and active holiday. Present analysis will try to answer the following question: What are the preferences of the society regarding to benefits gained from the forest? In order to evaluate the importance of the forest for the visitors, Forest Promotion Area Lasy Beskidu Sądeckiego carried out a revision of importance of the deciding factors which motivate society to visit LKP. It was vital to evaluate the requirements of tourist infrastructure. Whereas stating the factors which most decrease satisfaction from the visit in a forest was a supplement to the problems connected with the issue of the scientific studies. Instrument of research: One of the tools for the analysis was an inquiry questionnaire as well as a formal interview; this was done with a selection of candidates, approximately 30% of the population. The analysis was conducted within the forest area, mainly on the tourist’s pathways and near the cable car entrance and exit points of Jaworzyna Mountain. The analysts questioned 152 people in the summer period of 2008. Tourists, that visit the forestry area, expect to see a clean environment; in addition they expect to see a mixture of different tree species but without being seen as any artificial intervention. In their opinion the areas that excite them most are forests with very high growth, exceeding usual tree height. And they also like to see the lower plant growth for example different types of plant life and undergrowth. The main reason for people to visit the forestry area is that it relaxes them; secondly they are close to nature as well as they can pick different types of forest fruit. This was clear from the interviews taken at random. The opinion of the interviewed persons is that the main function of the forest area is an ecological function, and protective function. It produces oxygen and helps to keep water and moisture within the ground of the forest. Another function of the forest is that it holds the earth together with its roots, and provides a habitat for plant and animal life. Less important view of the people selected was the social function of the forest with it being a place to be visited by the general public, and the least important function was its productivity function. The same group of people also criticized people that misused the forest area by leaving litter, driving heavy vehicles which tears up the ground and also letting their dogs go to the forest unattended, that is why we need to continue to educate people on how to maintain the forestry area and to ensure that the people are fully aware of the destruction they can cause. People claimed that the law needs to be strengthened to have stronger punishment for the offenders that can have a negative effect on the forest area.

    Opis:
    The objective of the paper is to analyse the social preferences to the type of the forest stand and factors deciding about the tourist attractiveness of the forest. Data was collected during the nationwide surveys carried out in 2013 on the random representative sample of 1000 respondents above 18 years of age. The surveyed persons do not indicate strong preferences for deciduous or coniferous forest stands. The analysis of preferences for different types of forest stands with regard to respondents' sex did not confirm the importance of differences. Instead they suggest that respondents of different age tend to change their preferences with time – from broadleaved forest (the youngest respondents) to coniferous forest. Respondents in poor financial standing choose deciduous forest and mixed broadleaved forest, and people in good and very good financial standing – a coniferous forest stand, or rather a mixed one. What makes a forest stand attractive is mostly the forest's appearance and the nature along with the abundance of species, and the least, the presence of water or culture and historic sites. The older the respondents are, the more they appreciate silence and relaxation far from other people, as well as nature along with its abundance of fruits and fungi to be collected, while the least important is the diversity of land. Respondents with higher education (university degree) indicate the availability of land and the presence of waters as the most important features which decide of the attractiveness of forest, whereas people with the lowest education level – nature along with its abundance of species and the forest appearance. Respondents, who are in the best financial situation declare the appearance and the presence of lakes and rivers (features related to leisure), to be the most important factors which decide about tourist attractiveness of forest, and people in poor and very poor financial situation indicated: nature along with the abundance of species, availability of forest, places related to culture and religion, nature reserves, and tourist infrastructure.

    Opis:
    The main aim of the research was to identify the image of the vocational group of foresters and of the State Forests National Forest Holding held by the public opinion. To do so, respondents’ knowledge of forestry and foresters’ work was checked, using an original questionnaire. The questionnaire survey was carried out inside (Promotional Forest Complexes) and outside the forest (urban areas). The findings show that people eagerly spend their free time in forests, appreciating mainly their non−productive functions. Both foresters and the State Forests NFH entertain good opinion and high public confidence. However, people have insufficient knowledge of foresters’ competences and the State Forests NFH actions.

    Opis:
    Driven by social and economic changes, which have taken place for the last 30 years, the European forest management objectives have been redefined. By the action of public opinion, forest management, increasingly frequently and in a broader range, focuses on public benefits from forests. One of the most important functions is the possibility of leisure and recreation in the forest. The purpose of the research was the analysis of the hypothetical readiness to finance the leisure−related function of forest based on WTP (Willingness To Pay) amount. A question, which enabled the assessment of a social value of leisure−related function of forest, was asked to a random−quota sample of 1000 people over 18 years of age during the nationwide survey carried out in 2013 by TNS Polska. Out of 1000 respondents, the WTP>0 was declared by 29% respondents. Surveyed persons indicating forest with poorer infrastructure declared higher values calculated per household (PLN 13.59 ±0.84) than respondents who selected a better managed forest (PLN 12.86 ±0.88, PLN 12.91 ±1.46). The average WTP amount per person for respondents with the university degree (bachelor and master degree) was PLN 6.23 ±0.48, whereas for respondents with lower education, it was on the level of PLN 5.26 ±0.25. The average WTP also depended on the age of respondents. It was PLN 11.42 ±1.43 for 20−year−olds per family, whereas for 40−year−olds it was PLN 14.16 ±1.05. The average WTP per person increased along with the age of respondents; from PLN 4.37 ±0,42 (20−year−olds) to PLN 6.00 ±1.11 (80−year−olds). Disregarding the top WTP value per household of respondents in the worst financial situation (20.00 ±10.00), the average WTP value per household increased from PLN 10.26 ±1.69 (in poor financial situation) to PLN 14.55 ±2.97 (very well−off).

    Opis:
    The article presents the results of the survey on the preferences of disabled people on wheelchairs for selected features of recreation in forests. The study was conducted in 2015, including a sample of 108 people over the age of 18 interviewed simultaneously in the Poland and Czech Republic (52 interviews in Poland, 56 in the Czech Republic). Respondents were questioned both at the premises of the activation organizations as well as activation by email. The questions in the survey were designed to determine the preferences of the respondents in terms of the frequency and duration of the rest in the forests, the size of forest users groups, the choice of means of transport and certain equipment of forest recreation management. The results show that there is quite a lot of differences between the preferences of respondents from both of the analyzed countries. The statistic differences relate mainly to the choice of the means of transport enabling the rest of the forest, the frequency of recreation visits in the forests and the scope of necessary recreational infrastructure in the forests. The results indicate also significant differences in the profile of the respondents. They were associated with the place of residence, time of moving on a wheelchair and the use of a particular type of wheelchair.
