development - Opis:
- In 1996, the monitoring of the nun moth (Lymantria monacha L.) larvae in the period between outbreaks was carried out in the selected pine stands in the Tuczno Forest District. The presence of larvae in tree crowns were identifies on the basis of excrement fall. It has been demonstrated that at the early stage of development larvae were present nearly in every stand fragment. Small percentage of larvae that attained the pupa and imagine stage was presumably due to the high mortality during the developmental period. The complete development of larvae was found in some stand patches where feeding and developmental conditions possibly appeared to be relatively more favourable than in other stand patches.
