Opis:
The forestry communication system is included in larger transport areas through forest roads connections mainly with public roads, but also with internal ones. The possibility of realization of these connections and defining their technical parameters is very important, as it concerns the cooperation of various property owners as well as interference of the State Forest units into other land (road lane). The aim of the research was to analyse the exits, i.e. connections of forest roads with public or other internal roads, necessary to ensure the functioning of the communication system of the forest district. We investigated existing as well as the planned to be built exits. The research was carried out based on the developed information sheet regarding the scale and scope of issues related to the operation of the exits. We received back 412 information sheets and analysed the data according to the category of the road and the regional directorates of the State Forests (RDSFs). The total number of functioning exits the State Forests equals 108,239. The exits number varies from 2505 in RDSF Piła to 12,341 in RDSF Olsztyn and depends on the number of forest districts and their area, which is confirmed by the high number of exits in RDSF Bialystok, Szczecin and Wroclaw (tab. 1). The highest number of exits (53,455) was found for junctions with commune roads, and then district roads (31,190). A large number of exits (8111) was recorded for roads that do not have the status of a public road. More than a half of the surveyed forest districts (262) demonstrated the need to build 9072 new exits from various road categories, indicating primarily exits from communal roads and district roads (tab. 2). No need of building the exits to national roads was exhibited by 320 forest districts, and by 253 units for regional, 183 for district and 211 for communal roads.

Opis:
The objective of the study was to estimate the carrying capacity of forest roads with soil pavements. Deformation module and elastic deflection were used as characteristic parameters for road carrying capacity. 12 tested sections which were divided in groups were established 39 measurements using VSS and 66 measurements using deflectometr were made on all investigated segments. Average results of measurements were introduced in analysis from the particular group.

Opis:
The purpose of the study was to determine the importance of various parameters of forest roads used by heavy goods vehicles for transporting timber based on the research conducted among drivers and employees working on the road infrastructure of a forest district (road managers). The study analyzed the road parameters presented in the site plan, its vertical structure and type of surface (material). A questionnaire was sent by post to all (430) forest districts in Poland, which resulted in the receipt of 296 correctly completed surveys. Additionally, individual questionnaire interviews (82) were conducted with drivers of heavy goods vehicles (trucks with dolly or semi− −trailer, and trucks with trailer). The questionnaire used an analogue scale, where respondents marked a point corresponding to the intensity of their assessment. Non−parametric tests were used (Friedman ANOVA and Kendall compatibility factor, U Mann−Whitney) in the statistical analyses. According to drivers, the most important road parameters in the site plan are the width of intersections (widened sections in the form of arcs that facilitate turning onto a perpendicular road), the proper location of log−yards, widened curves and the roadway width. Forest district employees pointed the width of intersections and the roadway as the most important. The road elements in the situational plan are regarded as more important by drivers of vehicles with dolly or semi−trailer compared to the drivers of vehicles with a trailer, which is caused by the differences in the parameters of these vehicles (turning radius). The most important road parameter in terms of the vertical structure is its gradual course (no steep ascents and descents). The respondents attach great importance to the significance of the type of road surface used, and indicated bituminous and crushed stone pavements as the most useful on transport routes in the forest. The importance of road parameters was rated significantly higher by drivers of high tonnage vehicles. However, it should be emphasized that despite the differences found, the answers of forest district road managers also indicate that they attach great importance to having the transport roads in the forest meet specific design requirements. In general the respondents considered the parameters of all analyzed road elements important – the importance of individual parameters was evaluated to from 5 to 6.5 out of 7 pts.

Opis:
Lasy w kompleksie "Jaworzyna" należą do szczególnie cennych pod względem ochronnym i gospodarczym. Stanowią również zasadniczy element otuliny wokół uzdrowiska w Krynicy, odpowiadający za ochronę wód mineralnych i mikroklimatu w tym rejonie. W ostatnich 10-ciu latach ten naturalny krajobraz został w znacznym stopniu zmieniony poprzez wybudowanie kompleksu obiektów sportowo-rekreacyjnych, głównie nartostrad. Zabudowanie znacznej części kompleksu leśnego obiektami kubaturowymi i liniowymi, obcymi dla gospodarstwa leśnego, spowodowały wiele problemów w prowadzeniu tego gospodarstwa w Leśnictwie „Jaworzyna". W szczególnym stopniu dotyczy to komunikacyjnego udostępniania lasów w tym rejonie. Rozbudowana sieć nartostrad w oczywisty sposób tworzy kolizyjny układ z siecią dróg leśnych i stałych szlaków zrywkowych. W efekcie tego znaczne części kompleksu są nie-dostępne, tak w ujęciu czasowym jak i technicznym. Prowadzenie działalności gospodarczej na terenie Jaworzyny, szczególnie w okresie zimowym, stało się utrudnione, a nawet niebezpieczne. W pracy zostanie przedstawiona charakterystyka uwarunkowań zaistniałych dla gospodarstwa leśnego na Jaworzynie po wybudowaniu nartostrad i kierunki rozwiązania konfliktowych sytuacji.
Forests in Jaworzyna complex belong to particularly precious for the sake of protection and economy. They are also basic element of cleading round the Krynica health resort, which is crucial for mineral water protection and microclimate in this region. In the last 10 years this natural landscape has been changed in large degree, because of construction of sports objects complex, mainly ski tours. Placing large amount of cubic and linear objects, which are for artificial for forest environment, caused many problems with forest management in the Jaworzyna forest district. This especially goes for making forest available for communication in this region. Expanded ski trails net in evident way makes collision with forest roads net and constant skidding roads. In effect, significant part of complex are inaccessible in time and technical manners. Doing economic activity on Jaworzyna area, especially in winter time, has become very difficult or even dangerous. In the study there will be presented characteristic of existing conditions for forest management unit on Jaworzyna after ski trails construction and directions of actions for solution of conflict situations.
