Opis:: Control of taeniarhynchosis with various preparations is discussed, a high effectivity of Yomesan (ca. 85%) and prasiquantel (100%) being indicated. The prasiquantel is also very effective in the treatment of hymenolepidosis (ca. 85%), and useful in treatment of some cases of cysticercosis and echinococcosis.

Opis:: The studies demonstrated high larvicidal efficiacy of the combined liposomal anthelmintic therapy supplemented with liposomal (6-glucan) wchich acted as immunomodulator on the immune system of the infected animals. Therapeutic effect was very high in the treatment of hepatopneumonic toxocarosis as well as in cerebromuscular infection, reaching 94.3 and 89.3 % in the liver, 89.8 and 92.4 % in the lungs, 88.7 and 91.5 % in the muscles, and 91.5 and 90.5 % in the brain, respectively. It should be emphasized that although both anthelmintic combinations had high larvicidal efficacy, the combination l(DEC+FUBZ+L) was more efficacious in the muscles, while I(DEC+ABZ+L) was more efficient in the brain, independently of whether the treatment was implemented on 7th day after infection or on 47th infection day. It did not exceed the dose of one of these drugs used in monotherapy, whose larvicidal efficacy was always 2 or 3 times lower. Animals well tolerated the drug doses throughout the whole experimental period.

Opis:: The authors used Albendazole in a single dose of 400 mg in 40 students from Africa and Asia, infected with Ascaris lumbricoides, Trichocephalrus trichiurus and Ancylostomatidae. At the third day after the treatment no parasite eggs have been found in 25 of 30 cases of ancylostomatidosis (83.3%), 16 of 23 cases of trichocephalosis (69.6%) and in all treated cases of ascaridosis (100%). It has been also found that the tolerance for the medicine is good in most patients. Only in two patients (2%) there appeared short time and not very strong pains in the upper part of the abdomen and headaches. An important property of Albendazole is its ability to destroy nematode eggs which is essential for the prophylaxis and nature conservation.
