    Identity of the priest has fully realized in three pervade interactions: to God, to the people and to himself. Unfortunately in times when Catholic Church and priests are attacking, few people look towards on this gift and mystery in this way. Modern world wants to uncover “mystery” of priesthood through the prism of scandals and consumer goods. Bearing in mind the situation of modern man, who suffers on identity crisis, reconcile this situation in her three dimensions: Christological, ecclesiological and eschatological.

    The problem addressed in this article is what doctrinal arguments are behind the current decision of the Holy See not to admit men with a deep-seated homosexual orientation to the sacrament of Holy Orders. The problem may be solved in three stages: by showing selected contents of the documents of the Holy See in the 20th and 21st centuries, by presenting the doctrinal themes contained therein and by attempting to evaluate their reception in the light of current challenges. The author invokes the documents of the Holy See and the statements of the popes.
    Problem poruszany w niniejszym artykule brzmi: jakie doktrynalne argumenty stoją za aktualną decyzją Stolicy Apostolskiej o niedopuszczaniu do sakramentu święceń mężczyzn o trwale zakorzenionej orientacji homoseksualnej. Trzyetapowa droga do rozwiązania problemu przebiega następująco: przez ukazanie wybranych treści dokumentów Stolicy Apostolskiej w XX i XXI wieku, prezentację doktrynalnych wątków tam obecnych i próbę oceny ich recepcji w świetle aktualnych wyzwań. Autor odwołuje się do dokumentów Stolicy Apostolskiej oraz wypowiedzi papieży.

Autor szuka odpowiedzi na pytanie: Jaka jest relacja pomiędzy kapłańskim przeżywaniem celibatu a prawdziwym przeżywaniem intymności na płaszczyźnie przyjaźni? Podejmuje się także próby określenia pewnych postaw i zachowań, które mogą pogłębić zaangażowanie w duchowe przeżywanie celibatu.
    The article is an attempt to analyse the relationship between celibacy and the way of experiencing intimacy in the life of the presbyter. The author looks for answers to the question: What is the relationship between the priest's experience of celibacy and the real experience of intimacy on the level of friendship? The article also attempts at determining certain attitudes and behaviours that can deepen the commitment to the spiritual experience of celibacy.

    Die Lehre v. St. Matheus über Ehelosigkeit (Mt 19, 12) war und weiter bleibt als Grundmotiv der Verbindung des Zölibates mit dem ministeriellen Priestertum. Der Christus ratete, dass seine Schüler in der Ehelosigkeit bleiben sollen. Weil der Ratschlag so wichtig war, hat ihn das Magisterium Ecclesiae mit dem hierarchischen Priestertum verbunden. Der Weg vom evangelischen Ratschlag des Christus bis zum kirchlichen Gesetz des Zölibates, das für den geistlichen Stand pflichtig ist, war dennoch sehr lang. Deshalb soll man die Lehre über das priesterliche Zölibat in der Zeit der Väter der Kirche nachprüfen, weil das ermöglicht uns völliches Bild und den Kontekst den heutigen Außerungen der Lehrerbehörde der Kirche zu bemerken. Der Zeitraum der Vater der Kirche haben wir auf drei Teile verteilt. Zuerst haben wir uns mit der Zeit bis zum IV Jahrhundert (Synod in Elwira 304 J.) beschäftigt. Die Zeit hat sich mit der Absage der Gewährung der Priesterheiligung charakterisiert. Männer, die nach der Tod der Ehefrau noch einmal verheiratet waren, oder sich scheiden ließen, dürften keine Priesterheiligung haben. Auch die Geistlichen der Höhen Heiligung, deren Frauen gestorben waren, dürften keine Ehe schließen. In der Zeit der Heiligung und auch später dürfte man nicht heiraten. Dannach haben wir die Entwicklung der Idee des Zölibates in der Westkirche (zweite Stufe) und Ostkirche (dritte Stufe) geprüft. Die Grundelemente des priesterlichen Zölibates − die Jungfraulichkeit und Sauberkeit haben häufig das Thema der Überlegungen der Väter der Kirche gebildet. Die Väter der Kirche haben uns solche Werte gezeigt, die in der modernen Welt gültig sind.

    Artykuł zawiera krótki przegląd historyczny różnych stanowisk, dotyczących relacji między homoseksualizmem a kapłaństwem w Kościele katolickim. Przeprowadzone analizy dowodzą, że ocena zjawiska homoseksualizmu dzieli coraz bardziej nie tylko katolików, ale cały świat chrześcijański. Zrozumienie homoseksualizmu wymaga poważnych badań interdyscyplinarnych. Kluczowe pytanie dla katolików, które ma raczej charakter ontologiczny niż moralny, dotyczy wizji filozoficznej i teologicznej kapłana, który działa w „osobie Chrystusa” (in persona Christi). Zrozumienie istotnych elementów zgodności kapłana katolickiego z Chrystusem wydaje się kluczowe dla właściwej interpretacji związku między homoseksualizmem a kapłaństwem.
    Homosexuality and the priesthood. The Gordian knot – for Catholics? This article provides a short overview on the relationship between homosexuality and the Catholic priesthood. The analysis reveals that the phenomenon of homosexuality increasingly divides the Christian world. The understanding of homosexuality requires interdisciplinary and serious analysis. The crucial question for Catholics, which is rather of an ontological than moral nature, concerns the vision of the priest who acts “in the person of Christ” (in persona Christi). The understanding of the essential elements of the conformity of the Catholic priest to Christ seems to be crucial for the correct interpretation of the relationship between homosexuality and the priesthood.
