Zasadniczym celem niniejszego artykułu jest zaprezentowanie, użytecznej w zarządzaniu technologiami a w szczególności w planowaniu rozwoju technologii, metody technology roadmapping. Początkowo przedstawiono ideę, koncepcję oraz strukturę zarządzania technologiami. Dalej opisano metodę technology roadmapping jako narzędzie wspomagające proces zarządzania technologiami. Ponadto przeanalizowano wybrane publikacje z zakresu wykorzystania tej metody. Artykuł zakończono rekomendacjami dotyczącymi projektowania marszrut rozwoju technologii.
The main aim of this article is to present the method of technology roadmapping, useful in technology management, and particularly in planning the development of technology. Initially, the idea the concept and the structure of technology management are presented. Next, the method of technology roadmapping is described, as a tool to support the process of technology management. Also, the selected publications on the use of this method have been analysed. The article is concluded with recommendations on the design of the routing of technology development.

Artykuł przedstawia pojęcie Przedsiębiorczości Technologicznej (PT), określa jej zakres oraz miejsce w całej gałęzi badań nad przedsiębiorczością. Wskazano na problemy w zdefiniowaniu tego zjawiska ze względu na jego wielowymiarowość. Omówiono propozycję modelu struktury PT, a także zdefiniowano pojęcia Przedsiębiorcy oraz Przedsiębiorstwa Technologicznego. Przedstawiono również argumenty dlaczego PT należy wyróżniać spośród innych typów przedsiębiorczości. Podkreślony został ogromny wpływ PT na rozwój gospodarki oraz konieczność specyficznego podejścia w kluczowych obszarach dla jej rozwoju.
The article presents the concept of Technology Entrepreneurship (TE), defines its scope and place in the field of researches about the entrepreneurship. Problems with defining TE are pointed out in that elaboration. The proposal of the model of TE framework is discussed. The definitions of Technology Entrepreneur and Enterprise are also included. Arguments why TE should be distinguished from other types of entrepreneurship are presented. The author has also underlined huge impact of TE on the country economy grow and the need for a specific approach in key areas affecting on TE development.

Następnie przedstawiono wybrane wyniki badania zrealizowanego wśród reprezentantów grupy MFT zlokalizowanych w parkach naukowo-technologicznych na terenie województwa warmińsko-mazurskiego.
The purpose of this article is to recognize the importance of product and process innovations for start and develop foreign expansion by young new-technology based firms (NTBF). To achieve the goal, literature studies the subject and relationship between innovation and internationalization of enterprises in relation to the small and medium companies were carried out. Then, were present selected results of empirical research carried out among representatives of the NTBF group located in the science and technology parks in the Warmińsko-Mazurskie Voivodeship.

Research background: While the Sectoral Innovation System (SSI) anticipates technology-related similarities in innovation patterns in the same sectors across countries, the distance to the frontier suggests that there are important differences with respect to the level of national technological development. Most contemporary analyses of sectoral innovation systems are focused on well-developed economies. In contrast, the evidence from developing countries including new EU members are scared and lack dynamics. Purpose of the article: The purpose of this paper is to identify and compare product and process innovation patterns in Polish low and high technology systems. The main assumption is that divergence and convergence in innovation patterns of low- and medium-low technology (LMT) and high technology (HT) systems evolve over time and are strongly influenced by the characteristics of firms, their linkages with other system participants, existing demand, and institutional conditions. Methods: According to the third edition of the Oslo Manual (OECD, 2005), we employ a harmonized questionnaire and methodology to collect unique micro data on innovation.  The survey concerns 5252 firms including 873 firms from HT sector. The scope of the research relates to product and process innovation at least new to the firm. Findings & value added: Our results show that although the intensity of product and process innovation is higher in HT system, both business support institutions and public financial instruments better support firms in LMT sectors. On the other hand, existing demand and market structure favor the emergence of new innovations at the firm level (imitations), but with more emphasis on LMT. The key source of innovation is suppliers, with foreign suppliers in HT and national ones in LMT. In contrast to leading economies, LMT plays a key role in long term economic growth in Poland.

Celem artykułu jest ukazanie ich roli jako instrumentu ułatwiającego zachodzenie procesów związanych z transferem technologii. Ostatnia sekcja opracowania przedstawia zasady działania Krakowskiego Parku Technologicznego.
Science and technology parks (STP) are playing even more important role in the knowledge-based economy. The paper focuses on depicting the role of STP as platforms of cooperation enabling the process of technology transfer.The first section of the article concentrates on presenting universities and industry sector as a two key actors playing the pivotal role in the technology transfer. Different modes of their cooperation are shown and deeply described.Next section tackles with the analysis of the innovative environment. The science and technology parks are present in such a milieu and fulfil their role which was attributed to them. The significance of STP is increasing more and more. One of the consequences of that situation is the enhancement of economic conditions of enterprises located within the vicinity of science and technology parks. Thanks to that the local economy can boost.The article finalizes the analysis of the evolution of innovation perceptions (starting from linear innovation, through interactive innovations, up to open innovations) and the role the STP are playing within that process. In the last section the activity of the Krakow Technology Park and it’s impact on the regional economy is broadly presented.

W artykule poruszono dwie kwestie: wpływ korporacji transnarodowych na rozwój technologiczny gospodarki chińskiej oraz reformy systemu instytucji i oddziaływanie na tempo napływu i efektywność technologii transferowanych do Chin.
Chinese authorities are putting many efforts to make Chinese economy independent of the high labor intensity and low quality products and move to growth driven by high technologies. However before this happened, China had been using imported technologies for years. The article discusses two topics important for this change to be possible: the influence of international corporations on the technological development of the Chinese economy and the reforms of the institutional system with its impact on technology inflow transferred to China.

W dzisiejszych czasach zaobserwować można wyraźne różnice w poziomie rozwoju gospodarczego poszczególnych krajów. O sukcesie bądź zacofaniu danego kraju decydować mogą zarówno uwarunkowania historyczne, położenie geograficzne, jak i dostęp do cennych surowców. Najważniejsze jest aby przedsiębiorstwa próbowały nieustannie i elastycznie dostosowywać się do dynamicznie zmieniającego się otoczenia. Z obserwacji wynika, iż stabilny rozwój gospodarki może zostać zagwarantowany jedynie przez budowę gospodarki opartej na wiedzy. W Polsce zauważalna jest wyraźna luka technologiczna w stosunku do wysokorozwiniętych krajów Unii Europejskiej. Jednym z głównych priorytetów polskiej gospodarki powinno być zatem stymulowanie międzynarodowego transferu technologii. Z tego względu należy zastanowić się, które uwarunkowania transferu technologii są najważniejsze dla rozwoju polskich przedsiębiorstw.
Nowadays, we can distinguish clear differences in the level of the economic development of a country. The success or the backwardness of a certain country can be determined by both historical background, geographical location and access to valuable resources. The bottom line is for companies to try to continually and flexibly adapt to the rapidly changing environment. Observations show that the stable development of the economy can be guaranteed only by building a knowledge-based economy. In Poland, when comparing to the highly developed countries of the European Union, a distinct technological gap is exhibited. Therefore, one of the main priorities of the Polish economy should be to foster international technology transfer. Following that, we should consider which factors of the technology transfer are the most important for the development of Polish enterprises.

This paper aims at recognising potential innovations in weaving technology that may have occurred in Bronze Age Greece. It discusses whether these assumed developments may be examined diachronically. This discussion is based on archaeological evidence of textile implements, such as loom weights and presumed traces of warp-weighted looms, as well as knowledge of traditional craft and experimental archaeology. After a short introduction discussing how technical innovations could possibly be recognised in weaving, the paper explores possible changes in the construction and functionality of the warp-weighted loom and potential uses of other types of looms in Greece. A distribution pattern of specific forms of a loom weight, e.g. discoid loom weights in particular, is examined as an innovation responding to the demand for fabrics of specific technical qualities and appearance, possibly associated with a spread of new weaving techniques which accompanied the transmission of these tools. Social relations and modes of organisation of textile production are considered factors that must have had a significant impact on creativity and innovativeness in weaving technology. However, the final conclusion is that specific relations between the organisation of weaving and the occurrence of innovative processes cannot be clearly recognised based on the available evidence.

The papers collected in the present volume of the ‘Światowit’ journal examine developments in textile production in Bronze and Iron Age Europe and the Mediterranean by tracing both traditional and innovative elements in textile technology. The issue comprises 11 original contributions that resulted from the session ‘Tradition and Innovation in Textile Technology in Bronze Age Europe and the Mediterranean’ organised in 2016 by Agata Ulanowska and Małgorzata Siennicka during the 22nd Annual Meeting of the European Association of Archaeologists in Vilnius. The papers discuss available archaeological evidence of textiles, textile imprints, textile tools and textile iconography, as well as botanical and faunal remains related to textile manufacture and dyeing. The papers examine the types of social relations and cultural and economic processes which may have enhanced developments in textile technology and impacted on cross-cultural transmission of textile knowledge and skills in the Bronze and Iron Ages.

Wdrożone w Przedsiębiorstwie Wodociągów i Kanalizacji Sp. z o.o. w Rybniku projekty stanowią o innowacyjności technologii z perspektywy Technology Assessment na poziomie krajowym w branży usług komunalnych, która poprzez zmiany w strukturze organizacyjnej i procesy biznesowe zwiększa zdolność przedsiębiorstwa do niezakłóconego świadczenia usług.
Good practice in business lead to intensification of communication between a service provider and his consumer, allowing to inform about mutual needs and organized actions. The basis of an effective innovation development model is technology assessment standard receiving knowledge on current needs from the public opinion. The projects implemented in the Sewage and Water Supply Ltd. in Rybnik, have innovative character from the perspective of Technology Assessment at national level in the utility sector, which, on the other hand, through changes in the organizational structure and business processes, improve the enterprise’s capability to provide uninterrupted services.

Introduction: High performance motor boats should constitute standard equipment of lifeguards. There are motor boats on the market using high density polyethylene (HDPE) for the construction of their hulls. Purpose: In 2022, on the lakes Zegrzynskie and the Orzysz, there were carried out tests of a motor boat with a hull made in HDPE technology and a construction similar to a hybrid boat (rigid-inflatable boat, RIB). The aim of the tests was to examine the operational capabilities of the SRB53 motor boats and obtain preliminary information on the configuration of the equipment. Methods: The survey involved 57 people, experts, representatives of public administration, NATO soldiers, police, and rescue services, as well as enterprises and non-governmental entities operating in the field of water rescue. The working hypothesis was assumed that probably motor boats as a combination of HDPE technology with a hybrid boat design could match the operational rib boats and have an advantage in terms of durability and resistance to hull damage. A diagnostic survey was used on a small sample with research techniques, i.e., observation, interview, and test, as well as research tools in the form of an observation sheet. The research was prepared, carried out and closed in the following order: development of the research procedure, collection of research material, development of results, theoretical analysis of the obtained material and derivation of conclusions. The scope of the boat study included going away and nailing to the quay, the boat’s behaviours when making turns and abrupt turns in both directions at different speeds, and the hull durability test. Results: The test results and opinions were positive, many advantages of the hull of the tested boat were indicated, with one negative parameter – a higher weight compared to traditional rescue boats. The working hypothesis was proved: motor boats in HDPE technology with a hybrid boat design are equal in terms of operation to RIB boats and are more durable and resistant to impacts. Innovative HDPE technology is useful for boat production. Due to the purpose, different configuration and equipment of the boat should be assumed.
Cel: W 2022 roku na jeziorach Zegrzyńskim i Orzysz przeprowadzono testy, których przedmiotem była łódź motorowa z kadłubem wykonanym w technologii HDPE i konstrukcją zbliżoną do łodzi hybrydowej (ang. rigid-inflatable boat, RIB). Celem testów było zbadanie możliwości eksploatacyjnych łodzi motorowych typu SRB53 i uzyskanie wstępnej informacji o konfiguracji wyposażenia. Wprowadzenie: Łodzie motorowe o najlepszych parametrach powinny być standardowym wyposażeniem ratownictwa wodnego. Na rynku dostępne są łodzie motorowe, których kadłuby zbudowane są z zastosowaniem polietylenu wysokiej gęstości (ang. high density polyethlylen, HDPE). Metodologia: W badaniu wzięło udział 57 osób, ekspertów, przedstawicieli administracji publicznej, żołnierzy NATO, policji i służb ratowniczych oraz przedsiębiorstw i pozarządowych podmiotów prowadzących działalność w zakresie ratownictwa wodnego. Założono hipotezę roboczą, że testowane łodzie motorowe, w których połączono technologię HDPE z konstrukcją łodzi hybrydowej mogą dorównywać łodziom RIB pod względem eksploatacyjnym oraz mieć przewagę w aspekcie trwałości i odporności na uszkodzenie kadłuba. Jednym z elementów tego badania było także przeprowadzenie sondażu diagnostycznego na niewielkiej próbie z zastosowaniem technik badawczych, takich jak: obserwacja, wywiad i test oraz narzędzia badawczego w formie arkusza obserwacyjnego. Badania przygotowano, przeprowadzono i zamknięto wg następującej kolejności: opracowanie procedury badań, zgromadzenie materiału badawczego, opracowanie wyników, analiza teoretyczna uzyskanego materiału i wyprowadzenie wniosków. Zakres badania łodzi obejmował odchodzenie i przybijanie do kei, zachowanie się łodzi podczas dokonywania zakrętów i gwałtownych zwrotów w obie strony przy różnych prędkościach oraz test na trwałość kadłuba. Wyniki: Wyniki testów i opinie były pozytywne, wskazano wiele zalet kadłuba testowanej łodzi, przy jednym parametrze ujemnym – większej masie w stosunku do tradycyjnych łodzi ratowniczych. Hipoteza robocza została potwierdzona: łodzie motorowe w technologii HDPE z konstrukcją łodzi hybrydowej dorównują pod względem eksploatacyjnym łodziom RIB oraz są od nich trwalsze i odporniejsze na uderzenia. Nowoczesna technologia HDPE jest przydatna do produkcji łodzi. Ze względu na przeznaczenie łodzi należy założyć różną jej konfigurację i wyposażenie.

Opis:
The methodology to assess technology readiness is currently the key instrument in supporting the decisions to finance research and development projects. It was originally used in the area of aviation and space technologies, where the requirements connected with reliability and resilience to extremely difficult conditions are very high. Nowadays the methodology is used in Poland in the evaluation of research and development activities related to commercial market that is characterized by massive diversity. The need to apply this methodology in the process of commercializing new products is indicated in this study.

Opis:
W artykule opisano, czym są modele organizacji, oraz wskazano ich znaczenie podczas przeprowadzania analizy organizacji. Opisano trzy modele organizacji: diament Leavitta, model Krzyżanowskiego oraz model 7S. Wskazano wadę modeli – nieuwzględnienie technologii informacyjnych jako jednego z elementów organizacji. Uzasadniono, że technologie te są obecnie jednym z kluczowych czynników budujących przewagę konkurencyjną organizacji oraz determinantą ich innowacyjności. Zaproponowano uaktualniony model 7S; uwzględniono w nim technologie informacyjne jako jeden z elementów modelu.
The article describes organization models and indicates their importance in the analysis of the organization. Describes three models of organization: the Leavitts’ diamond, the Krzyzanowski model and the 7S model. Describes weakness of models - not including the information technology as part of the organization. These technologies are currently one of the key factors in building a competitive advantage of the organization and determinant of organizational innovation. Proposes an updated model 7S - taking into account the information technology as one of elements of the model.
