Opis:
One of the principles and the basis of quality management is continuous improvement. The paper attempts to identify the intelligent improvement of quality management. According to the author the basis of an intelligent improvement is the knowledge resulting from the analysis of the needs and expectations of the company’s stakeholders. In turn, stakeholders orientation is the basis of corporate social responsibility concept. Therefore, in the first part of the paper the relationship existing between the quality management and the concept of corporate social responsibility (CSR) is pointed out. In the second part the opportunity to improve quality management through the implementation of CSR principles is highlighted.

Opis:
The aim of the work is to review the basic methods of accident analysis in terms of the possibility of using them to improve occupational safety management. Analyzing accident events is a very good way to obtain information on the practical functioning of OSH management. Although the analysis of accidents and near misses is included in the reactive activities, the changes that will be introduced as a result of this analysis are the most proactive. These irregularities can be related to all elements and aspects of the functioning of the organization from the technical, organizational, human, environmental and management side, and the accident analysis helps to identify them. The paper reviews and characterizes the basic methods of accident analysis, with particular emphasis on accidents at work. Moreover, the basic classification criteria and the main guidelines for the selection of these methods are presented in such a way that they can be effectively used to improve the OSH management system.

Organisations constantly look for new, innovative solutions and methods which could be used to improve their efficiency and increase the quality of their products. Identifying the causes for returns is an important issue for modern companies, as returns are the cause for the increase in production costs and, most importantly, the loss of credibility in the eyes of the client. Therefore, for the company to be able to sustain or strengthen its position on the market, it has to follow the rules of quality management. Especially important is the rule of constant improvement. This rule is primarily connected with preventing errors and defects from occurring at all the stages of the production process. To achieve that, one must, among other things, use quality management tools. The article presents an analysis of causes for returns of a vibrating screen produced by a company which manufactures machinery and equipment for the extractive industry, using quality management tools such as the Ishikawa diagram and Pareto analysis. The analysis allowed for the identification of the causes of client returns which could not be previously identified, and proposing solutions for them.
Organizacje stale poszukują nowych, innowacyjnych rozwiązań i metod, których zastosowanie może doprowadzić je do wyższej efektywności działania i podwyższenia jakość produktów. Identyfikacja przyczyn reklamacji jest istotnym zagadnieniem we współczesnych przedsiębiorstwach, ponieważ reklamacje są przyczyną wzrostu kosztów produkcji i co najważniejsze utraty wiarygodności w oczach klienta. Dlatego też, aby przedsiębiorstwo mogło utrzymać lub wzmocnić swoją pozycję na rynku musi w swoich działaniach kierować się zasadami zarzadzania jakością. Szczególnie istotna jest zasada ciągłego doskonalenia. Zasada ta związana jest przede wszystkim z zapobieganiem powstawaniu błędów i wad na wszystkich etapach produkcji. Aby to osiągnąć należy między innymi stosować narzędzia zarządzania jakością. W artykule zastała przedstawiona analiza przyczyn reklamacji przesiewacza wibracyjnego produkowanego przez przedsiębiorstwo produkujące maszyny i urządzenia dla przemysłu wydobywczego za pomocą narzędzi zarządzania jakością takich jak diagram Ishikawy i analiza Pareto. Przeprowadzona analiza pozwoliła na identyfikację przyczyn reklamacji klienta, których do tej pory nie udało się zidentyfikować i zaproponowanie ich rozwiązań.

Opis:
Main objective of the study is to analyse the impact of portfolio management on the level of quality in EU projects implemented in public universities. First part of the article is theoretical and prepared on the basis of a critical analysis of literature in the field of quality management in projects and project portfolios. Second part of the text was based on primary data collected during preliminary survey conducted among EU project managers implemented in public technical colleges in the 2014-2020 financial perspective. Literature studies and results of own research allowed to identify and assess threats affecting the quality level in EU projects that result from transition from the level of individual project management to the level of project portfolio management. Continuous improvement of quality is a characteristic feature of organizations using quality management systems, so the article indicates the need to have an internal quality assurance system at universities. Importance of organizational units managing EU projects in universities in ensuring that products and results of a project are of high quality have also been underlined.

Article is devoted to the factors conditioning the improvement of the quality management system (QMS) of industrial company. In this paper, these factors are called determinants of improvement in the QMS. Particular attention was paid to factors which sources should be sought in knowledge management in the organization. These determinants have been identified in the research process which was conducted among the management of one of the large industrial companies. In the research process, degree to which the determinants support forms of professional organization was assessed. These forms are described in the first part of the following process which these are the innovations and Kaizen. The corrective and preventive actions are mentioned as the third form of improvement mechanisms which are in the form of obligatory procedures for quality management systems based on ISO 9001 quality management standard. The last part of the Article is dedicated to chosen aspects of the role of Knowledge Management in the improvement of the quality management system.

Rozwiązania pokazane w artykule na przykładzie wybranego studium przypadku, mogą zostać zaadoptowane przez inne podmioty gospodarcze, borykające się z podobnymi problemami w analizowanym zakresie.
The study concerns the analysis and as a result of its improvement, the process of managing returnable packaging from customers in a large enterprise, dealing in the production of car body seals for cars and the production of transmission belts for the automotive industry and household appliances. Problems identified in the company in the field of packaging management were presented and an improvement project was proposed, including implementation of the 5S method and the Kanban system. The solutions shown in the article on the example of a selected case study may be adopted by other business entities struggling with similar problems in the analyzed scope.

Opis:
The paper deals with the issue of organisational improvement and employs a theoretical and empirical approach. Its purpose was to introduce the notion of the quality audit as a management instrument contributing to the improvement of enterprise operations. The theoretical part presents the contemporary meaning of audit, its objectives, functions and types. In the second – empirical – part, the results of the author’s own study were used to reveal that the quality audit identifies the weaknesses of an organisation and, thus, points to areas that should or can be improved. In addition, the results of the study can be used to draw a conclusion that increasing the knowledge of employees responsible for the quality management system would contribute to reducing the barriers affecting the effective implementation of the audit and would maximise the results obtained from the audit.
Artykuł dotyczy problematyki doskonalenia organizacji i ma charakter teoretyczno--empiryczny. Jego celem było ukazanie audytu jakości jako instrumentu zarządzania przy-czyniającego się do usprawniania funkcjonowania przedsiębiorstwa. W części teoretycznej przedstawiono współczesne znaczenie audytu, przedstawiono jego cele, funkcje i rodzaje. W drugiej części – empirycznej, na podstawie wyników z przeprowadzonego badania własnego rozpoznano, że audyt jakości identyfikuje słabości organizacji, a tym samym wskazuje obszary, które powinny lub mogą być doskonalone. Dodatkowo, na podstawie uzyskanych wyników należy stwierdzić, że zwiększenie wiedzy pracowników odpowiedzialnych za system zarządzania jakością przyczyniłoby się do ograniczenia barier wpływających na skuteczną realizację audytu oraz maksymalizowałoby efekty uzyskiwane z tegoż badania.

The article is devoted to the current managerial issues of state financial budgets, particularly, the improvement of financial management processes within state budget execution. Effective budgets execution is very important for every state, especially for developing countries. To ensure that, governments need to provide different managerial types, ways and control techniques of financial management. The research methodology of this paper is based on conducting the comparative analysis of existing patterns of macroeconomic development, political and social issues in the context of the financial management processes within state budget execution. It is also implemented SWOT, systematic vision, causes and consequences analysis and expert assessment. In the research, it is carried out the current analysis of financial management issues in state budgets of Ukraine and Kazakhstan from 2013 to 2017. It is determined the main directions for the development and improvement of financial management over the budgets executions in terms of management, control and standardization processes. It is proposed the classification of financial management standards into organizational, functional and special ones, where the solutions and recommendations are designed taking into consideration the short, medium and long-term perspectives.
Artykuł poświęcony jest aktualnym problemom zarządzania państwowymi budżetami finansowymi, w szczególności poprawie procesów zarządzania finansami w ramach wykonania budżetu państwa. Skuteczne wykonanie budżetów jest bardzo ważne dla każdego państwa, zwłaszcza dla krajów rozwijających się. Aby to zapewnić, rządy muszą zapewnić różne rodzaje zarządzania, sposoby i techniki kontroli zarządzania finansowego. Metodologia badawcza tego artykułu opiera się na przeprowadzeniu analizy porównawczej istniejących wzorców rozwoju makroekonomicznego, kwestii politycznych i społecznych w kontekście procesów zarządzania finansami w ramach wykonania budżetu państwa. Zastosowana jest również analiza SWOT, systematyczna wizja, analiza przyczyn i konsekwencji oraz ocena ekspercka. W badaniach przeprowadzana została analiza bieżących zagadnień zarządzanych z finansami w budżetach państwowych Ukrainy i Kazachstanu w latach 2013-2017. Określa się główne kierunki rozwoju i poprawy zarządzania finansami w zakresie wykonywania budżetów w zakresie zarządzania, procesy kontroli i standaryzacji. Proponuje się klasyfikację standardów zarządzania finansowego na organizacyjne, funkcjonalne i specjalne, w których rozwiązania i zalecenia są projektowane z uwzględnieniem perspektyw krótko-, średnio- i długoterminowych.

Purpose: Critical defects are of great significance when evaluating the production process effectiveness, especially in the automotive branch. It is important to analyse these defects and distinguish the crucial ones. In this article, the authors have identified critical defects in the process of brake master cylinders production using quality management tools, and proposed improvement actions. Design/methodology/approach: The aim of the article was to analyse defects and the reasons for their occurrence, and improve the production process of master cylinder with special attention to critical defects. In order to improve this process, critical flaws had to be identified and eliminated from the entire set, which was the engineering problem to be solved. Then the causes of their occurrence as well as the factors causing process disturbances affecting the final occurrence of the defect were identified, and actions eliminating or limiting their occurrence were proposed. In the project, they were used to analyse the tools and principles, i.e. process diagram, Pareto-Lorenz diagram, cause-effect diagram, and to improve the Poka-Yoke process. Findings: Based on the examined causes of defects, improvements were proposed, i.e. guides for applying the body, a program stopping the piston assembly station to control the oil level, purchase of caps from sealed material and the need to work in long-sleeved work clothing, moving the body type verification camera from the final to first station, pallet spacers to protect against piston damage, change of supplier, especially of body castings. Research limitations/implications: The major limitation of the paper is that it is based on one case of an organization. In the future, it will be necessary to conduct studies in more organizations so as to find out if the same result can be achieved. Originality/value: Until now, no quality management tools have been used to analyse and organize the formation of defects in production processes.

The article constitutes a theoretical-empirical study concerning possible improvement instruments that can be implemented in the management systems of Poland’s public, economic universities. The theoretical part of the article concerns critical analysis of literature relating to improvement and improvement instruments dedicated to the examined universities. In the empirical part of the article, analysis of use of improvement instruments was done by employing the following methods: case study, standardized questionnaire, documents analysis and deduction. The analysis concerned: knowledge about instruments, their usage, instruments’ assessment and directions of possible improvements of management systems of the examined universities.

Purpose: The aim of the article is to present the benefits of using selected Lean Management elements in the production process on the example of a company producing mechanical seals. Design/methodology/approach: The article is theoretical and empirical in nature and is based on the analysis of a selected case. In the empirical part, the analysis concerns selected elements of the production process in the examined enterprise. Findings: The results obtained in the article refer to the benefits of using Lean Management in the production process in the analyzed enterprise. The use of identification and elimination of waste and standardization of activities at workplaces (introduction of job instructions) in selected areas of the production process allowed for the improvement of its parameters, which was presented in the article. Research limitations/implications: The limitations in the empirical area could be the reference only to selected aspects of Lean Management and the analyzed process. Future research will cover the broader scope of Lean Management and other companies. Practical implications: The results of the case study show the direct impact of Lean Management on the parameters of the analyzed production process. Thanks to the use of Lean Management, the process parameters have improved, which is an important factor in the context of the effectiveness of the company's functioning as a system. Originality/value: The added value of the article is the practical presentation of the use of Lean Management to improve the parameters of the production process.

Celem artykułu jest określenie możliwości wykorzystania koncepcji zarządzania wizualnego do doskonalenia działalności i procesów realizowanych w firmach produkcyjnych. W artykule wskazano potencjał tej koncepcji zarządzania w komunikowaniu informacji oraz przy identyfikacji i rozwiązywaniu problemów. Podkreślono fakt przewagi tej koncepcji nad innymi, ze względu na to, że odwołuje się do głęboko ludzkich cech, ponieważ odbiorcy, czyli pracownicy są najbardziej wrażliwi na bodźce wzrokowe, dotykowe i dźwiękowe, kiedy znajdują się bezpośrednio w ich otoczeniu. Wskazano podstawowe cele zarządzania wizualnego w firmach produkcyjnych, uwarunkowania jego stosowania, sposoby jego oceny skuteczności i efektywności oraz korzyści wynikające z jego wdrożenia. Słowa kluczowe: zarządzanie, zarządzanie wizualne, doskonalenie, procesy produkcyjne.
The aim of the article is to show the ability to use visual management concepts to improve operations and processes in manufacturing companies. The article indicates the large potential of this management concept in communicating information and solving the problems, it was highlighted the fact of superiority that concept over the others due to the orientation on human senses, particularly the sense of sight by the fact that the recipient - employees are the most sensitive to visual stimuli, tactile and auditory, when they are directly in our environment. It specifies the fundamental objectives of the use of visual management in manufacturing companies, conditions of its use, ways to assess the effectiveness and efficiency and tangible benefits resulting from the implementation of this concept.

The ongoing processes in production enterprises must be constantly monitored and improved in order to meet the requirements of growing competition in the technical, technological and organizational aspects. Also, customer expectations regarding the quality of products are constantly increasing, while maintaining the lowest manufacturing costs. The analysis of the course of operations, exploited resources, materials, recharges, as well as the identification of risk and losses are the basis for improvement and optimization, leading to increase in process efficiency, as well as optimisation of organization and working conditions. There are many management methods and tools used to streamline processes. Currently, Lean Management (LM) is one of the most popular and effective concepts in this field. The primary goal of LM is to eliminate activities that do not bring added value in processes, while saving resources and meeting customer requirements. The Lean concept offers many useful methods and tools that, when properly selected in the organization, implemented and used, can bring the intended results. The aim of the article is to present the results of the analysis of potentially accidental events in a production enterprise based on the identification of key threats occurring in the plant. Based on Lean Management methods and tools implemented in the company, their impact on work safety was determined.

Opis:
Quality management systems established in conformity with ISO 9000 standards have an over twenty-year tradition. In the article attention has been focused on relations between goals defined within the framework of QMS (Quality Management Systems) and business results. The amendment of the bill, planned for the year 2015, changes the previous concept of QMS by introducing a number of new requirements which adjust organisation management systems to the current level of knowledge and environment of the organisation. One of the requirements that will be emphasised in a new issue of ISO 9001 standard is risk management, the innovation implementation process and information management. The article reviews the requirements contained in the current issue of the standard, focussing on requirements which limit the risk of organisation functioning and the risk related to innovation design and implementation.

Procesy logistyczne wspierają procesy podstawowe przedsiębiorstwa i podlegają doskonaleniu . Doskonalenie procesów logistycznych może mieć charakter bieżących usprawnień i/lub poważnych zmian. Te ostatnie są wprowadzane za pomocą projektów. W konsekwencji w doskonaleniu procesów logistycznych przedsiębiorstwa mogą być zastosowane równocześnie koncepcje zarządzania projektami, zarządzania procesami oraz zarządzania jakością. Wskazane jest ich łączne wykorzystanie, co w praktyce napotyka na różnego rodzaju ograniczenia i bariery. W artykule zaprezentowane zostaną przejawy i skutki braku koordynacji tych koncepcji w doskonaleniu procesów logistycznych przedsiębiorstwa oraz możliwe sposoby przeciwdziałania temu. Artykuł ma charakter teoretyczno-metodyczny, a do jego przygotowania wykorzystano metodę krytycznej analizy literatury przedmiotu.
Logistics processes support the basic business processes and they are subject to improvement. Improving logistics processes can have the character of ongoing improvements and/or major changes. The last ones are introduced with the help of the projects. Consequently in the improvement of logistics business processes at the same time the concepts of project management, process management and quality management can be used. It is indicated to use them combined which in practice encounters all sorts of restrictions and barriers. This article will present the symptoms and consequences of a lack of these concepts coordination in the logistic business processes improvement and the possible ways to prevent this. The article has a theoretical-methodological character and its preparation has been based on the critical analysis of the subject literature method.
