    The starting point for article is the question: Is there something in that exchange between a single caring professor and motivated student that, while impossible to assess, measure or digitize, is at the very heart of what a university tries to be? The authors discuss the concept of Massively Open Online Classes in the context of Gartner Hype Cycle and explore MOOC ethical implications. The aim of this short article is, according to the authors, not to support or oppose the deployment of MOOCs but to clarify certain ethical presuppositions.

    Celem niniejszego artykułu jest przedstawienie zastosowań zdalnego nauczania w dydaktyce socjologii, oparta na doświadczeniach autora, związanych z przygotowaniem kursu wykorzystującego tę metodę. Prezentacja Przedstawienie tej problematyki wymaga omówienia podobieństw i różnic w przekazie wiedzy metodami tradycyjnymi i za pomocą edukacji na odległość oraz wyjaśnienia specyfiki zdalnego nauczania. Przedstawione zostają także środki techniczne wykorzystywane do skonstruowania kursu. Tekst wskazuje na problemy, jakie wiążą się z ujęciem problematyki socjologicznej w formie zdalnego nauczania. Omówione zostaną przykłady rozwiązań, służących skutecznemu przyswajaniu przedstawianych treści. W tekście przedstawione zostają zalety zdalnego nauczania, a także ograniczenia, wiążące się z wyborem tej metody. Omówione zostają również związane ze zdalnym nauczaniem zagadnienia cyfrowego obiegu treści, a także perspektywy rozwoju nowych form kształcenia.
    The purpose of this paper is to present distance learning applications in teaching sociology, based on the experiences of the author, related to the preparation of the course using this method. The presentation of these problems entails a discussion of similarities and differences in the transfer of knowledge by traditional methods and using distance education and distance learning to clarify the specific feature of the new approach. The technical measures used to construct the course are also presented. The text shows the problems that are associated with presentation of the sociological problems in the form of distance learning. Some examples of solutions for the successful assimilation of the content presented are discussed. The text shows the advantages of distance learning, as well as its limitations. Some issues concerning the circulation of the digital teaching content and developing new forms of education are also presented.

    The purpose of this article is to present a multifaceted analysis concerning methodology proceedin-gs in recruitment procedures for researchers. Theoretical considerations are complemented by concusions of an empirical study. The role of scientificinstitutions and values applicable in the scientificcommunity in light of popularized theories are analyzed first.Additionally, reference is made to the principles enshrined in the code of ethics of Poland’s National Research and Development Centre.Then are discussed recommended patterns of conduct which have been recorded in the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers, paying particu-lar attention to issues relating to openness and fairness of proceedings and equal treatment.The next part of the work discusses legal regulations applicable to the employment of academics at Polish universities. It looks closely into the differences that apply to employees at public and private universities, which can be considered from the point of view of legal provisions relating to the prin-ciple of equal treatment enshrined in the Constitution of the Republic of Poland.The subsequent part of study is devoted to the conclusions of an empirical study covering the compe-tition proceedings relating to the employment of academic staff at public universities. The methodo-logy of the examination procedure is thoroughly explained and interim research questions concerning the specific issues and problems closely related to the analyzed subject are presented

    Przedsiębiorczość oraz przedsiębiorcze uniwersytety to nowe możliwości, które powinny być z sobą powiązane. Głównym celem artykułu jest przedstawienie idei przedsiębiorczego uniwersytetu, jednocześnie prezentuje on rozwój historyczny kształcenia na odległość oraz dokonuje przeglądu dotychczasowych i nowych form kształcenia, które mogą wspierać rozwój uczelni przedsiębiorczych w XXI wieku. W artykule omówiono pięć kategorii, które są „sercem” działalności innowacyjnej i przedsiębiorczej na uczelniach amerykańskich, w tym: przedsiębiorczość studentów, wykładowców przedsiębiorczości, transfer technologii, współpracę w zakresie przemysłu i zaangażowanie w rozwój gospodarczy regionów. Te pięć kategorii odzwierciedla ogromne znaczenie innowacji i przedsiębiorczości w misji i działalności szkolnictwa wyższego.
    Entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial universities are new opportunities that need to be leveraged and interconnected. The main purpose of the article is to elaborate upon the idea of entrepreneurial university. This article shortly describes the historical development of open and distance learning and reviewing the past and potential future role of developing new forms of learning that might support the development of entrepreneurial university in the twenty-first century. The article discusses five focus categories at the heart of the innovation and entrepreneurship activities within America’s universities: student entrepreneurship, faculty entrepreneurship, technology transfer, industry collaboration, and engagement in regional economic development. These five categories reflect the widespread importance of innovation and entrepreneurship to the mission and activities of higher education.
